    You can't really see pokemon breeding. Take Muk for example. How do 2 blobs of acid do it? And using 2 different species of pokemon, like Kabutops and Omostar. It doesn't seem to work.

    I think that is better unexplained.Its like your'e reffering pokemon to humans.It could be that they use an atack thogether with their dna and the result of that creates a agg.XD.

    I think it's just one of those things that we don't really need to know, like MegaDitto said. :P Let's just let them have their time, and get us a stronger Pokemon. :P

    I think they use different methods. Back when I thought I was a Mew becasue of my schizophrenia, the way we made kids was by having the ends of our tails touch. Than specail hairs on the end of the male's tail would go into pores in the skin of the female's tail and move to the stomach. They would then begine to grow and produce an egg, which would be ejected through the mouth when the shell fully forms and than hatch in a few months.

    Personally, I don't even WANT to know how Pokemon mate. That's just.... O,o ew

    This game is aimed at kids. I don't think there will ever be an explanation.

    Of course they will never get THAT detailed. But still, humans don't like not knowing things so this will go on forever, if Pokemon stays rated G and doesn't make anyhting X rated.

    do we really need yo know this? I think not. We shouldn't think about this... It's just kinda disturbing :P

    Mating is not gross you immature children. Humans just made it seem that way. YOU'RE the result of two people mating, ya know.

    I like to think of Pokemon reproduction like frogs. The male stimulates the female to lay an egg and he fertilizes it as it comes out. Atleast I think that's how frogs do it. The old couple at the daycare use artificial pheramones to get the Pokemon in the mood.

    No one will ever know how Pokemon reproduce, and hopefuly never will. Just thinking about Pokemon mating makes me feel weird. Humans seem to have made making new life something bad, but it's not. Maybe one day we'll relize that the human body isn't something gross, and that creating life isn't bad or gross at all.

    Skitty and Wailord...o_O|||

    Male wailord...female Skitty...
    FSkitty: Hey, your p**** is even bigger than my whole body.

    thats kinda scary. a skitty and wailord

    Magikarp and Wailord.. o_O

    But anyways, with the "Pokemon come from eggs" thread, I think that the mammal-like Pokemon would give live births, the bird, amphibian and reptile Pokemon would lay eggs, the fish Pokemon would do... smoething XD And I don't even want to go into the Horsea/Seadra/Kingdra birth,s icne they change their gender and change back and become pregnant and stuff XD

    My friend made a theory on it once... it involved that the Pok?mon wish to Jirachi for a child, Mew creates the new life, and Celebi takes the egg to the parents (because one of its Pok?dex entries says that whenever it appears, it's said to leave behind an egg).

    In my fic I just assume they mate like animals, though. Technically, Skitty and Wailord being breedable only really means that a Skitty can get pregnant with Wailord sperm... not that they can actually go do anything in person. o.O

    The way I've grown to see it:

    Animal-like pokemon would breed like real animals, plant pokemon (the ones that are more like regular plants, not necessarily grass pokemon in general) would breed by pollination, and then something like Muk (and grimer and ditto and such like that) would breed by merely budding off a new pokemon (like an amoeba or hydra).

    ...Though then they are pokemon, like geodude and chimecho (especially chimecho), that I have no idea what they would do. @_@

    What gender changing? o.o

    If they're anything like real seahorses, then the female just puts her eggs into a pouch on the male. There's no gender-swapping involved at all. ^_^;

    Well, this is actually something I've wondered myself. ^___^ Now, please refrain from going into too much detail here, as there are little ones among us. XD

    Well, like animals, I'm sure Pokemon have different mating rituals they go through. Not all mating rituals are the same for every Pokemon, which is possibly why no one's seen two Pokemon going at it. XD

    And thus was born the saying "Which came first? The Pokemon or the egg?" XD

    That's a nice good idea^^

    I know it's not. But pokemon breeding, come on. I think we should just never know.

    I think that maybe Pokemon can create fertal eggs without the use of other stuff from the males. Maybe they just wait until there is another pokemon with them to help take care of the egg, and they only want certain specaise to care for it, hense the Skitty and Wailord thing. I just came up with this theory while remembering a science fiction book I read where the alien speciese would create fertal eggs all on there own, but always waited for another to help care for it when it hatches.
