I was thinking about the Butterfree virus post and I wondered if anyone knew where most of the pokemon's names came from.
Like Ekans is snake backwards or.. blaziken = blaze + kickin? :P

Pikachu is based on the Pika, a rodent.

Arbok is a misspelling of Kobra(cobra) backwards

Pikapika is Japanese for sparkle and chuchu is Japanese for squeak, so Pikachu means sparkle-squeak.
