I was thinking about the Butterfree virus post and I wondered if anyone knew where most of the pokemon's names came from.
Like Ekans is snake backwards or.. blaziken = blaze + kickin? :P

I think theres already a thread like this

Krabby= krab+..... well crabby (you know, that feeling you get when youre grumpy)

oooh ok, but oh well :P

Pikachu - me and my friend thought up the idea that someone was thinking of "pik" then sneezed "achoo!!" xP

Pikapika is Japanese for sparkle and chuchu is Japanese for squeak, so Pikachu means sparkle-squeak.
