Well, I thought in my head a few minutes ago, why the heck not! I want to make a new update to Emerald, where you can do even more then in original Emerald! I want to expand the world of the Hoen region, and add more secret areas. I plan on making more Islands, but the only thing stopping me is - I don't have any tools. If you can find me any, I'll gladly let you help out. I'm currently using Pokemon 386 - Where you can catch all pokemon without trading, and you can buy master balls. I want to change your starter pokemon, Treeco, Squirtle, and Cyndaquil to - Charmander, Totodile, and Treeco. I'll also plan on making more trainers, and make some more tougher. Also to make May a WHOLE less girly and to edit the text of the game. I'll try to get to work as soon as I get some Hacks. Expected Release : July 18th, 2009.

July? This actually even wouldn't take that long. You could get a quality thing done in a few days really, all you would need is a map and text editor. Google some of these tools(I can't get all the links right now besides for amap) that you can use.

    - Advance-Map (duh, mapping)
    - Advance-Starter (for changing the three starters)
    - Advance-Text (changing to next, I never actually got it to work on my computer lol)
    - XSE(if you learn/already know how to script. This hack doesn't seem like it would need any new scripts right at the moment bc it's more of a mod)
    - Sappy (couldn't get this to open either, but it's the only[as i know of?] music editor for GBA games)
    - Lunar IPS (to make patches of your hack to post on here, seeing as you can't post roms without breaking the forum rules)

just with those few, even without some of them, you could accomplish this, if you learn how to use them right. Some low traffic freewebs(well, "webs" now :-D) have these tools in bundles with others, and that kind of thing, just search around google.

Emerald actually isn't a stable rom to hack, so if you even do slight edits it could lead to glitches. A good rom to hack first would probably be ruby, and would give you more space to breathe

Well I guess I'm out of luck then. But I do have a Firered rom. Is that stable to hack?

yeah a lot of people hack with firered rather than ruby or emerald. its just easier and a lot more tools for it, i believe.
