Hey im currently making a pokemon side scroller (like megaman or super mario bros). Its going to have only the first 151 pokemon in it because those were the best ones :-D. i have 4 ideas for the storyline so far.
1.Pikachu is searching for his trainer Ash. Ash would be either captured by team rocket or some other evil character.
2.Pikachu is out to take down mewtwo. this one would have no people or trainers just the pokemon in their natural habitat.
3.evil pikachu seeking destruction? lol.
4. (if i can find or make a good trainer sprite sheet) i will have ash walking in the platform using one pokemon to win all the gym badges. and you would get to pick at least 1 out of 3 pokemon.
