Pokemon- The Souls of One

Welcome to a world that is similar to the Pokemon world we all know and love, but is also quite different. What so different about this world then from other the Pokemon world of the games/anime? Well, first of all, no one catch Pokemon in this world. It is actually forbidden for anyone to own a Pokemon unless they are needed for work or health reason. Now, you may be thinking about why that is. The answer is actually simple; there's no need for anyone to catch or own Pokemon for they already have the perfect Pokemon with them.

In this world, everyone is born with a Pokemon already by their side. This Pokemon is, in a sense, an extension of the person's soul. This has given them the name of Soulmons, or Soul Monsters. This Soulmon starts out as a baby from of an evolutionary line (aka, like a Charmander). Then, as the child grows, the Soulmon grows with them and evolves (like into Charmeleon) until they reach their final forms (which is the end of the evolutionary line, in this case Charizard). The time of the progress, of course, depends on how many times that Soulmon can evolve. For instance, it may take a bit shorter amount of time for a Scyther to evolve into a Scizor then from a Bublasaur to a Venusaur. No one knows the reason way the Soulmon goes through the evolutionary line. Though some think it is because a child's soul isn't complete, so their Soulmons can't be either until a certain time.

Now around a person's puberty, their Soulmon finally takes on a final shape. Once they settle, they can not change into any of their previous forms. What ever Pokemon your Soulmon settles in is said to be representative of what that person is really like. For example, if that person doesn't like strife and likes to stick around kind hearted like in volunteer organizations then that person is most likely a Togekiss. If a person likes to fight and does so according to what they think the other person level is at, then they're probably a Blaziken.

Of course, that's not saying that because two people have the same Soulmon that they are exactly alike. Two people could have different jobs and ideals and still have the same Soulmon. But there could be smaller differences like the size of the Soulmon and the coloring. Or maybe the person's Soulmon has something about that is not normal for the Pokemon that it represents.

Now, this world has recently been terrorized by a huge world war that has shaken the very world to its core. Towns and cities are razed to the ground, families torn apart and millions slaughtered. Through all of this, certain areas have been designated as 'Safe Zones'. These Safe Zones, or SZs for short, are neutral areas in which no killing or military trade can be done. This is where the young, old and other people not suited for fighting gather and are protected.

However, these areas are also training grounds for future soldiers. This training starts as soon as a child's Soulmon settles. At first, they are taught about survival basics and their body and minds trained for combat. When a trainee is 16, they are given a weapon of choice or their instructor gives them one based on their style. Of course, some trainees choose to be healers or to fight with their bare hands. As soon as a trainee reaches the age of 20, they are enlisted into an army of their choice.

Our story begins in one of these SZs; Oxfield.

Oxfield is possibly the largest and greatest of the SZs. This SZ offers the latest and greatest training, healing, and residential areas. Many a fine officer and generals have trained at Oxfield. The head master himself, General Mc Murfree and his large, black Garchomp Slayer, is a proven war hero who has won many a battle for The Three Kings. Right now, graduation is just around the corner for the SZ and many people are being sent out to fight in the war.

You play as a future soldier of Oxfield. You are going about your business, thinking about which faction you would like to join and about the raise of a revolutionary group called Team Fallout. As you go to your class or enter your living quarters, a teacher/soldier gives you a sealed envelop. You are told to open the envelop and report to the room written on the letter. More then a little confused, you do as the teacher/soldier asks and report to said room to see what they want with you…

Appearance: (Just because you picked a Raichu it doesn't mean it has to look like all every other one in the game. You can change size, coloring and just about everything else about the Soulmon's looks. At least three sentences or an image.)
Personality: (Though it should act mostly like your character, is there one or two things that are different from your character? Three sentances.)

2. No character control unless character's own has given you permission

5. No expletive swearing. A few swear words are okay if the character is like that but we don't need someone who uses them like crazy.

Name: Robert Smash.
Gender: Male.
Age: 16.
Appearance: Robert has short, thin black hair that is usually spiked. At 155cm, he is small for his age. He's a little overweight and has a fading tan. His eyes are grey but appear blue in the sunlight.
Robert prefers to wear a white t-shirt that is a little too big for him with dark blue shorts. His trainers are old and tattered from travelling long distances.
Personality: Robert can be extremely stubborn at times. He has a hot temper and sometimes says things that he regrets. He also struggles to take things seriously which can cause him to get in trouble. However, he is also quite caring and hates when people he loves are in danger.
Weapon(s): Hammer.
History: Robert was born to a rich family. As an only child, he was spoilt and got whatever he desired. His life was great until he was 8 years old and his parents decided to split up. When he explained how he felt, he was given more gifts but all he wanted was his family to stay together.

Robert's childhood caused him to become stubborn. He was always getting into trouble at school. He was bullied because of his weight. People found it fun to pick on him because of his reactions. Robert felt isolated from everything so he became independant and stays with his Soulmon at all times.

Extra: Robert is afraid of Bug Pokemon.

Soulmon:

Name: Polo.
Species: Poliwrath.
Gender: Female.
Appearance: Polo is quite small compared to most Poliwraths. She has big eyes that are deceiving at times. There is a white mark shaped like a star on her foot which Robert believes to be a birth mark.
Personality: Like Robert, she is hot-tempered. She also shares his fear in bug Pokemon.
However, Polo is serious at all times and will do anything to protect Robert.

Close Combat- Do you like to get face to face with your enemy? Do you like to see the fear in their eyes when they see that you are much stronger then them? If so, then this job is for you!

Here's my SU. I went for scout instead of Trainee, if it's OK...

Name: Marco Tezorro Fabrica
Gender: Male
Age: 16

Appearance: Marco has a tanned skin tone that is usual for people from the south. His hair is mainly black, but the sun gives it brown highlights. He is about 170 cm tall, and has a skinny, but muscular body build. His eyes are deep brown, almost black. He smiles vaguely most of the time, so people feel relaxed around him.

Marco always wear clothes that make a contrast to each other. That is, when he gets to choose outfit himself. I.e. he may wear a pair of green shorts and a purple T-shirt. Or a blue jacket and orange trousers... Many think it's creepy, but he looks quite good.

Personality: Marco isn't really a charismatic outburst, but he does OK. He has a pleasant aura about him, so most people think he is… well, OK. The thing he mostly cares about, however, is art. He is widely interested in the esthetic arts, but mostly practices arts with textures and fabrics. No surprise, since his family branches into groups of artists. Five out of six of his uncles are professional artists!

Weapon: Marco commonly uses a pair of steel scissors in combat.
Job: Scout

History: Marco was born on the south coast, with a big family. His loyal and trustworthy Soulmon hatched into a Smeargle. The family was of course overjoyed, since Smeargle is a species dedicated to art. His family is traditionally interested in art. For the Fabrica-family, art is the sole purpose of life. It was no exception for Marco.

Rather the opposite. He was a genious. At an age of five, he made a masterpiece out of macaroni and glue, that was sold to the National Museum. He graduated from the International Institute of Esthetic Arts before he graduated 9th grade. Yes, a genious. But the pressure was big, and he ended up joining the training in combat.

He was a perfect match for the spot of Scout since his Soulmon could learn all attacks in the world, permanently. He can therefore be prepared for almost anything! Still dedicated to art, he always carried a pair of scissors that were gifted to him on his birthday. What now? Not even Marco could answer that…

And for the Soulmon:

Name: Artifabre (nicknamed "Tifa")
Species: Smeargle
Gender: Female

Appearance: A Smeargle with a feminine touch. The rings around her eyes, the paw print on her back and the paint on her tail is colored a lavender shade of purple.

Personality: Artifabre is, like Marco, dedicated to art. Though she favors the art of painting on canvas more, the basics are the same. She is very outgoing, just like Marco's inside. Tifa is very feminine, and uses mostly her natural color; purple, and pink.

Age: 16
Appearance: Katie is short for her age and lean. Her skin is a light brown, almost tanned. She has straight reddish brown hair that is usually kept in a ponytail. She usually wears a dark violet tee and thin black pants with pale blue shoes. Her eyes are a calm green. Around her wrist is a bright blue bracelet.
Personality: Katie is quiet and thoughtful, rarely ever angry. She keeps her true emotions inside and tries to be helpful to her friends. Unfortunately, her thinking makes her hesitant, which a weakness in battle. Katie also hates to be underestimated and to be helpless.
Weapon: Black katana
History: She rarely ever saw her parents as they were both constantly at work. Instead her older brother raised her as best he could, teaching her to defend herself and other useful abilities. She always felt guilty of mooching off him.
At school, people liked her and respected her. The bullies usually left her alone, as she ignored them more often than not. When the training to become a soldier began, she happily took part.
Extra: She likes to play a small wooden flute.

Soulmon:

Name: Raion
Species: Luxray
Gender: Male
Appearance: Raion's fur is almost completely black, with golden stripes on his legs and his face is blue with red rimming its eyes. His eyes are a bright yellow.
Personality: Raion is mostly quiet like his trainer and fiercely loyal. But he also can be very reckless when someone they both like is in danger. He is also the more honest of the pair, expression and cries usually telling what they're both thinking.

Job: Close Combat

 

[Cosmic Tyrant]

Name: Ice Bjornson
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Appearance: Ice is incredibly pale, with only a slight pigment to his skin. His hair is blonde, and reaches to the middle of his back. (normally kept loose, but ties it in a ponytail and conceils it in his shirt in combat) His right eye is a sky blue, while his left eye is white. his lips are somewhat thin, and he always seems to be frowning. His body is fairly thin, with little muscle. Ice is about speed, and his build proves it.

Ice like to wear clothes that fit his style of combat. This is usually limited to black, but he wears other colors, too. That being said, there's no real "outfit" he ever really wears, he puts on whatever is needed. He has the following ensamble; Black/Green/Tan camo tank top, Green/Tan camo jacket. Black/Green/Tan camo pants, Black/Green/Tan camo combat boots, Black/Green/Tan gloves. (note; the Black colored clothes are not camo. He also has masks to go with each outfit.)

Personality: Ice is slightly arrogant, a bit of a satirist (meaning he uses irony, sarcasm, and humor to poke fun at things,) and is overall extremely blunt. He believes honesty is the best policy, and doesn't care one bit if what he says isn't what others want to hear. His mechanical-like logic tends to wear on other people, but that's not to say Ice isn't optimistic. He's an avid thinker, constantly trying to think of ways to turn the tide of battle if his team is losing. Usually Ice is the first to congratulate and encourage his comrades when they succeed in a task. Basically, he has his nice times and mean times. He also has a speech inpediment, which causes him to slur a few of his words, but not too much. He usually only adds/subtracts a letter or two when he speaks.(unless he's angry, in which his whole sentences can become botched)

Weapon: loads of Throwing Weapons (Stars, Kunai, Tomahawks, and even bullet-like chunks of metal)

History: Ice was born in one of the most northern parts of the planet. His family stayed there until he was about 12 before moving near Oxfield to aid the war. Ice's father was proud of his sons and had good faith that each of them were destined for greatness. All of his sons, barring the youngest, were trained for war. His oldest and second youngest brothers were excited about battling, while his second oldest brother often complained about not wanting to do it. Ice was the only one indifferent in the matter. He wasn't overly thrilled, but he wasn't about to whine about it. To him, it had its ups and downs. Each of the brothers decided they should have different styled weapons. From katanas to staves, Ice chose to utalize throwing weapons since he was already good at darts. It took time, like most things, but in the end he mastered the art of throwing like a charm.

Soulmon:

Name: Shinobi
Species: Weavile
Gender: Female
Appearance: Shinobi is like traditional Weavile, but is a tad smaller than others (about 2 inches) This is due to the fact that her crown (or whatever you call those red things on a weavile's head) is shorter than normal. The jewel on her head is also red, and dulls out when it's dark out.

Personality: Shinobi is a lot like Ice. From attitude to logic, they're almost the same person. Almost. And I say that because the thing that seperates the two is that Shinobi is extremely shy, while Ice is usually open to those who he feels comfortable around. Shinobi has a difficult time making friends, while Ice goes with the flow.

Wow, people really like the Scout job. Well, here is my judgement:

@Arishoz Declined I'm sorry but there were quite a few problems your SU, mostly in the Solmon area. To start, you only put in four sentences in the appearence section for your character instead of the mininmal of five. Now, you shouldn't have a non-fully evolved Solmon. Your character is old enough that they should have a fully evolved Solmon. Also, you can't just have the species as their name. They should have a real name.

@Hansa Accpected The Scout job is yours. Also, a person's Solmon can only change Pokemon in it's evolutionary line. But, since everyone's Solmon is complete, you'll only see that in NP characters.

@Winterfell Declined I hate to be really picky about this but you need to add another sentence in your appearance. I ask for five, you only gave me four. Change that and you're in. :) Also, I'm afraid you're going to have to change your job now.

Name: Sera Vritra
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Appearance: Sera is five foot five with slightly tanned skin and quite a bit of muscles. She has short, bright red hair with some yellow streaks in it that frame her oval face and dark green eyes. She wears a red, long sleeved shirt with a dragon design on the sleeves and a purple vest. She also wears white jeans and black combat boots. Sera has a long necklace with a jewelled flame and a red and white sweat band on her right wrist.
Personality: Sera is a bit a loner, liking to stay by herself when she can to train her body and swordsmanship. She also has a quick temper and is quick to use violence on those her anger her. However she will not attack anyone or is younger or weaker then herself, no matter how much they annoy her. Though mostly cold and distrusting, Sera can also be friendly and loyal to those who she gets to know. Sadly this doesn't happen often as she is very wary of people. She is also very proud, is easily offended and very highly believes in the war (or at least through her favourite faction's point of view).
Weapon(s): Broadsword.
Job: Close Combat
History: Sera Vrita was born and raised in Oxfield. Both of her parents were soldiers for the Holy Knights, a company known and feared for their determination and strength. This fear is not just about the soldiers themselves, but also from their dragon like Solmons. Sera has been raised to live up to this reputation and has been trained hard. Her parents were very delighted when her Solmon was a Charmander and grew to a mighty Charizard.

Sera has recently suffered a great loss when she was informed that her parents died from a shell falling on them. This has caused her to unleash nearly all of her faults and trust people even less then she did already. For the past two days, she has just been like a zombie, with the only emotions coming out during battle and training. Sera was just thinking about how much she can't wait for graduation when her trainer came to her with a letter…
Extra: Sera is deathly afraid of water, as she can not swim.

Name: Saraph
Species: Charizard
Gender: Male
Appearance: Saraph has a very strange blue color to his skin with his belly being black. He also has black strips running down his spine and black highlights around his eyes. Saraph also is quite a bit bigger then most Charizards. His flame on the end of his tail of his tail burns a hot pink instead of the usual red or orange.
Personality: Though Saraph is mostly like Sera, he is more openly kind and tends to take things less seriously. He also talks a lot more, often speaking for Sera. Though, the combination of his open mouth and joking around, can often get him in trouble. Saraph is very loyal to Sera and considers her number 1.

Name: Josephine Harris
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Appearance: After showering herself, Josephine proceeded to dry off her thin frame of medium height and build. She then rubbed the moisture out of her hair, allowing the wet strands to fall to her shoulders, and then dried and brushed it until it was in a suitable enough position for her to wrap a hair tie around it, creating a pony-tail look.

She went over to her closet and removed two hangers, one of which held a bright red sleeveless top, with the other holding a sky-blue miniskirt. The teen dressed herself, before slipping her feet into a pair of brown boots, and casually placed her black sunglasses over her hazel coloured eyes. In the past, she had received criticism from her peers as they wondered why she had come to classes with her sunglasses on, but she ignored them, as it was just a strange mannerism of hers to do that.

Personality: Josephine is not a no-nonsense person; though kind and caring, she can be impatient and hyper, too. Due to events that have happened in her life, she is also a bitter cynic, and her sarcastic side shows.

Despite all of that, Josephine has the attribute of leadership. Her caring side reveals itself at that moment, and she is more of a leader than a follower. When she puts forward an idea, it is agreed upon after some consideration from others.

In her spare time, Josephine focuses on writing a book. To her, writing is the only thing worth living for. Not the romance genre, of course… She has many opinions about the horror and thriller genres, some of which one would not want to know about. No, Josephine's appreciation stems from the science fiction and fantasy genres, and will not stop until she finishes. Adding to the problem is Josephine's considerable writing skill; her ability to actually pull others into her expressive writing attracts humans and Pokémon alike.

History: Josephine was born in Pallet Town. She first came into contact with writing during an encounter with her older sister in their garden, who wrote so beautifully that a couple of the local male trainers were entranced after she'd told them.

Josephine's sister, Tara, died in a car crash when Josephine was nine. With her father, Charles, a paraplegic and bound to stay in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, it was up to Fiona, her mother, to rake in the money. Her older brother had defected from the life of a trainer, so Fiona and Charles disowned him. Her younger, nearly ten-year-old sister, Natalie, and herself were the only Harris children left.

Name: Sunray
Species: Umbreon
Gender: Male
Appearance: Sunray is unlike others of his species. He was experimented on before his Eevee self bonded to Josephine. Because of the experimentation, his normally black fur is now yellow and his yellow rings are black.
Personality: Because other Pokémon consider Sunray a freak, he is bitter towards them. He shares his partner's impatience and hyperness. However, if he does not get his own way, he can and will fall into long bouts of silence.

Name: Michael Smith
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Appearance: Michael is five foot five and not the tallest out of the boys who also train. Infact he is the one of the smallest, which makes him the target of mockery in training as the magority of the boys are built for hands on physical combat with masculine Pokémon such as Charmander etc. And Michael is not strong and has a slim build however girls tend to find him attractive. His passion for Soulmon makes him a constant brightly smiling teenage boy when travelling with his Glaceon. He has tanned skin with short black hair and bright green eyes which have a hint of grey. Gazing into his eyes make people relaxed as they are cold yet seem caring. He wears a long white sleeve shirt with the top button undone. He also wears black jeans with some of the white shirt hanging over them as the shirt is not tucked in. He also has a black backpack with a Master Ball drawn on it in a graffiti like fashion hanging over his left shoulder. Michael also wears a black and silver cross with diamonds around his neck.
Personality: Michael tends to like to be alone except for with his family. At times he does like to make new friends and talk to other people but he finds that the magority of teenagers his age cannot be trusted as his caring nature usually ends up in people taking advantage and mocking him with their Soulmon trying to bully Aliyah. He finds himself easily fustrated and impatient and the only time he feels calm is when he is alone with Aliyah or his family. He is also very proud of his family and his religion and does not believe that close combat is acceptible. Michael will happily argue with people about his beliefs.
Weapon(s): None.
Job: Healer
History: Michael Mansfield was born and raised in Oxfield. His mother worked as a healer and his father as a Close Combat soldier for the Holy Knights. Due to his agressive job, his father began to drink alcohol due to the stress and became violent when around his wife and child, it was not long after that using his strength from Close Combat training he began to physically abuse both his wife and Michael. Eventually his wife divorced him and forced him to leave the family home. The father eventually left furiously and moved to a village far away where he started a new family with a lady whom also had the profession of Close Combat. As Michael watched the domestic violence his Soulmon would frequently change form from agressive Pokémon to Cubone and Glaceon. Eventually, once his father left his Pokémon took the final form of Glaceon and his mother was proud of her son and his fully formed Soulmon which took the sister form to her Soulmon which was a Leafeon Due to the fact he witnessed such domestic violence from recruits of the Close Combat job, he swore to be a Healer just like his caring mother who rasied his brilliantly.

Species: Glaceon
Gender: Female
Appearance: Aliyah greatly resembles an ordinary Glaceon with the only difference being a crystal colour to the usual dark blue parts of her beautiful fur. She has sea blue warm eyes and a sweet caring face, she tends to cuddle next to Michael and warm her fur by snuggling into his chest.
Personality: Aliyah is much like Michael as she was with Michael from birth and also grew up witnessing the domestic violence which, due to the cruel nature of Jolteon, the Soulmon of the father of Michael constantly bullying her by shocking her with electric sparks. She grew to fear and distrust all humans and Pokémon alike, only confiding in Leafeon and Jacqueline, the mother of Michael. She spends all her time with Michael as she loves to be close to him and he is her number one. Although she is a nervous and timid Pokémon, if anyone attempted to attack Michael she would run to his aid and defend him with her life.
