Whenever I'm supposed to be explaining something to them, they're too busy wisecracking and drawing pictures on their erasers to listen to me... Well, I can honestly tell you as a former High Schooler, that if you want to find people who like Pokemon, Manga, or anything in that sense; sniff around the more popular band kids (the ones with the large pack). You'll find people who will take you in. When I was in High School, I hung around with the jocks and i'm a geek that was great... All they talked about were bands and gossip too, so i know how you feel. I was a closeted nerd for 4 years and I can tell you, when you do find people (and we all do), make sure that they appreciate you for you. As far the 1/2 the kids not knowing what manga is; a friend of mine did a study of students in high school who know non-american cultural references; only 13% knew what Manga or Anime was proper. So dont feel too discouraged. [\LengthyOldPersonSpeech]

Since school seems to be on everyone's mind I have a topic in the school spirit.
Now in the Anime it has been anounce that Trainers are exempt from schooling when they get their Trainer's License. But the Manga has touched that. Also Erika is a gym leader/Professor; so here's my question:
Do trainers go to school in PokeSpecial? If so, explain.
Yes, through online courses or by taking time out of training for special school sessions (like night school).

EDIT: I have a funny story about accidental cosplaying. When I was in middle school (shortly after GSC came out) a friend of mine bought Gold's sweatshirt at wal*mart (it wasnt labeled as such) and because I live in Washington State it's standard fashion around here to wear shorts and sweatshirts. So he didnt realize that one day he came to school wearing that sweatshirt, some short, basketball shoes and a backwards baseball cap and look like a blonde version of gold. It was hillarious to all the secret pokemon kids at the time (we all kinda accidentally revealed ourselves when we each took a double take at him).

Blue: The Sims 2. She would be all over the Sims. Making each of the PokeDex holders on the game and putting them in weird situations....oh wait, that's me. XD Well, she would do it too.

You do that with Sims2? Ah, that's so cool XD But I suck at making Sims look like real persons. And I can't find custom downloads for Pokemon...

Awww, Masa.... good luck with school! I hope things are better now.
I went on a camp with the uni the last few days, and I had a bit the same as you... there were all these populair people, and I couldn't relate to them. Not really, anyway. I'm just not the kind of person who socializes immediatley with everyone. But nothing's wrong with that XD The world also needs timid persons ^^
I do look forward to the classes, though. I think they'll be interesting.

I think they go to school till they're eleven (some have home schooling or special training somewhere else like Green.) After that, you can go to the uni and all, but it's optional.
If the trainers go travelling, they can take courses in the summer f.E or learn online. Not all trainers do that, of course... *I won't name names cough* but I think most of them do want to learn something else than catching Pokemon ^^

Interesting topic to think about, btw. I've never thought of it before... it's a bit weird that eleven-year-old kids can go wandering about, without going to school. But hey, it's a Pokemon world XD
