I read somewhere that the Oddish was chosen by Mato because that's the pokemon he felt like. The writer and the newer artist picked Swalot and Electrode for the same reason. BTW, Red had a Poliwhirl to represent Satoshi Tajiri as that is his favorite Pokemon.

Very interesting review and pics, but there was one thing I did not like: Archie just had to bang Silver, I hope Silver avenges himself.

Well, each member of the cast has their own signature pokemon so I think those are their representations:
Red: Pika and Vui
Green: Charizard
Blue: Jigglypuff
Yellow: Chuchu
Gold: Aipom (forgot nickname bad gold fan!)
Silver: Sneasel
Crys: Bonee
Ruby: Mimi
Sapphy: Blaziken
Wally: Ruru
Emerald: Sudowoodo
Dia: Munchlax
Pearl: Chatot
Berlitz: Piplup

Green:Scizor
Blue:Wiglytuff
Yellow: Pikachu(so she can pair with Red and make Gold)
Gold: Pichu or Aipom he can be both
Silver:Sneasel or Murkrow dark pokemon for an emo
Crystal:Hitmonchan
Ruby:Milotic
Sapphire:Blaziken
Emerald:Sudowodo
Wally:Flygon or Ralts i think Ralts for the game
Diamond:Torterra or Snorlax
Pear: Primape or Loudred because he gets mad easily and he is loud
Platina:Empoleon he is the king or a super cute legendarie pokemon

Green: IDK, Lucario?
Blue: Jynx, the seductress.
Yellow: Gardervoir, looks nice and while being male can pass for female, kinda like her but inverse
Gold: Gambling Togepi, there's his Trumph Card! *Shot for mixing manga verse puns with game verse*
Silver: Weavile, stealthy, sneaky and dark
Crystal: Farfetch, normal, plain and boring
Ruby: Gorebyss, looks calm and tender, but is a predator
Sapphire:Mismageus, quite frightning but very playful
Emerald: Ditto
Wally: Ralts
Diamond: Munchlax
Pearl: Mankey
Platina: Something regal, or Empoleon

Beta reader is a person who reads a finished or unfinished story then rates it to give the writer some advice, or to spot grammar mistakes.

Green: Steel
Blue: Psychic. Just because. Sabrina Jr., anyone? *is shot again*
Yellow: Normal.

Gold: I dunno. I have the urge to name some kind of type that has an advantage on Silver's.
Silver: Dark.
Crystal: Something boring, like Water.

Ruby: Normal~
Sapphire: Fighting. So she has an advantage on Ruby
Emerald: Ground, because that's the element he's closest to. -shot, bricked and killed by sympathetic Emerald fans-

Pearl: Fire. Two words: explosive temper~!
Diamond: The Eating type. (he's a new species.)
Platina: Dragon, 'cuz it's all elegant and fancy schmancy.
