So, I have decided to create a starter kit for RPG Maker '03

I know that not many people use Rm2k3, and the people who do use it, can easily script this all on their own. Anyways, it isn't that much ready to be released but it is ready to be showcased.

So here is the progress so far:

    CMS - 80% Needs Graphics
    CBS - 1% Haven't even started
    Message System - 100% Done!

    What we/I need:

    HGSS Pokemon Overworlds
    Menu System Graphics

    Creditz:

    Avatar+Rm2k3Kid - Charsets/Chipsets
Neo Dragon - Inspiration for RM2K3

Obviously the Menu graphics need some work.

    Wow...no one wants to help.

Eh, I guess this was a stupid idea. Whatever.

RM2k Is an obsoulete product... Get with the times... just use XP
    COMPLETELY WRONG!
Go play starless umbra and CrAzY_gUy and you will definitely change your mind!

Besides to be accurate don't you mean VX or AGM?

Well if you wanna go there they why not mention RPG DS? And no I ment XP. You seem to have this high sense of superiority with your arrogant replys... im not trying to be rude your just coming off like your better than people or you know better... Cant say I like it or find it respectful... But then I really dont care anyways just thought i'd point that out...

Oh FYI Im not wrong RM2k3 is obsoulete for game creation, and thats what he wants to make the kit for... Maybe You should Think before you make your self look dumb...

Actually I do know better, on ever real RM site, there is always a category for RM2K3 for its high amount of users.

Remember to credit kyledove for the tiles (and that chipset was done by me, but you don't need to credit me for it- just give kyle the credit for the tiles themselves).
As much as I love Rm2k3, I must say that I don't think a Starter Kit for it is right.
It's not the most friendly program to use if your a newbie to game development.
The chipset limits/characterset limits and no scripting without patches are a pain to deal with.
I have thought of making a starter kit myself, but it would be pointless. It would get little to know user base.
Rm2k3 is really for the guys who have been here a while(since around 2005) and want a bit of nostalgia.

Well I disagree with the idea of a starter kit for RM2K3 as I have already tried it and Protectors started as one. RM2K3 is for programmers with a good knowledge of using variables and switches to make custom ideas. So this is just my opinion but I just feel like RM2K3 doesn't need a starter kit and you could just ask around (Neo has helped me with a switching system once) and go with the flow.

Well actually, it wasn't supposed to be a starter kit. It was just me fooling 'round with Rm2k3.

I gave it to my little brother, who is 7 and make games :P, and he uses it perfectly fine. His game isn't actually half bad if I say so myself. Once I saw him using it, I thought it would be of use to the members of Pokecommunity.

Darn accidently pressed back on my last post when I was about to post it.

I know whatyou mean anyways as my little bro who is 8 (Goldenpalkia) really wants to make pokemon games but doesn't know how and even though I have made 3 for him (lol) but he still doesn't get it. My first one was his 7th birthday present and I posted it on Pokecommunity as a starter kit. It was VERY buggy.

Nowadays I am an experienced coder. I can help you it if you want anyways. Just want some credit
and I can make a battle system and provide you with some graphics.
