I recently downloaded pocket for the winter event tournament and I'm looking for some advice. I used to play the TCG Online, though I never really got into the meta really, so I'm hoping for some advice about how to decide what kind of deck I should be trying to build. Are there strategies that work well for pocket but not the full game? Is there anything important I should keep in mind when building a deck?

I would also love to hear about your guys' favorite cards, decks, strategies, etc. to help me get an idea as to what my options are.

Honestly there's very, very little strategy to Pocket. There's one clear top deck and a few that can do alright but because the pool of trainer cards is so low and they're nearly all genuinely bad there's not a lot of creativity to be had.

That's lame, I'd hoped that with them taking out or changing so many aspects of the OG card game they'd at least do something fun and unique within those new constraints, but I guess not

It's honestly hard to do anything with a 20 card deck. But they're also very keen to ensure that you have as little interaction with your opponent's bench as possible. They've ensured there's no real interaction with the discard and by removing energy cards they've also ensured we'll never see the discard used as a resource like with actual real decks like Roaring Moon and Raging Bolt/Ogerpon
