    Note: This is a semi-chaptered RP. I have a general outline of the order of events and what will happen, but what your characters do will greatly influence the outcome of the roleplay.

    Plot:

    You know about Poke'mon, obviously. Everyone does, even if they live under a rock. Many of you grew up with Poke'mon, others always dreamed of becoming a trainer or coordinator. And now, Poke'mon have a problem. They need your help. There is a company I know all of you have heard of – Playful Pokemon brand. it's a huge industry, all over nearly every region. Well, this company, known and loved by nearly all, is not what it seems. Playful Poke'mon Incorporated is, on the surface, a hugely successful industry providing products necessary for daily life. But behind the scenes, the higher-ups in the company are moving towards making Poke'mon extinct, that's right, extinct.

    Unfortunately, there's hardly anything the Elite Four, Gym Leaders, and Champion can do about this – Playful Poke'mon is just too big a corporation, but they must be stopped. They have a plan. This year, for both coordinators and trainers, there will be two cups held, one public, and one behind the scenes. Promising trainers will receive invitations, whether they have already acquired all eight gym badges for the region or not, to the second cup, signed by the champion of their home region theirself. This second cup will be kept entirely secret, even to the invited trainers, until the Gym Leaders, Elite Four members, and Champions know who they can trust.
    The goal of the competition is simple: to find not yet well known, powerful trainers who connect well with pokemon to infiltrate the Playful Poke'mon company inconspicuously, and bring it to its end before too much more damage can be done.

    You are a trainer, and may come from Johto, Hoenn, Kanto, or Sinnoh. You may ONLY come to the secret cup with Poke'mon found in your region. You have been invited to the Secret Cup, but you don't know what it is. This is the information contained in your information letter:

    You have shown much promise as a trainer and I would like to meet you personally along with a few other select trainers. I would appreciate it if you would meet me in the Snowpoint City Poke'mon Center on June 4th at noon. Nurse Joy will know where to find me. Boat and train tickets are included, and are non-transferrable.

    The basic things. No godmodding or spam, don't post too much OOC after we start and follow the PC rules. I feel that this is a given.
    On reservations: They are allowed, and I appreciate them, as it usually means that you spent time and effort on your character. Reservations expire after about 48 hours. That's two days.
    Try to post frequently.

    Name: Your character's name. First and Last, and if they go by a nickname.
    Age: Make it reasonable for your character's progress. If they already have multiple badges, they're not going to have just started their journey. Must be 12 or older.
    Gender: Male or Female. These are your only options.
    Appearance: What your character looks like and a little bit about their clothing choices and such. A paragraph please.
    Personality: I would also like a paragraph here, but I only need one, you have permission to be concise in this one area.
    Biography: This is where you prove to me how great of a storyteller you are.

    All of the ones you can catch there. As in, if you are in Johto, you can't catch a Bidoof, but in Sinnoh, you could still catch a Pikachu. And things like I don't recall any Skitty in Sinnoh. (although if you found one I won't declare you a liar just because you did.)
     
    Ah, I see. Now; as far as Sinnoh goes, technically you could catch a crapload of Pokes. What's the rules as far as that goes? I mean, like, with the PokeRadar In-Game, you could find things like Tyrouge there.
     
    For Sinnoh, I'll be fairly lenient, but I would prefer you have Poke'mon in the Sinnoh Poke'dex, not the National dex. However, I you want to have one Poke'mon found only in the National Dex for Sinnoh, you may. If you want more than that, you'll have to give me a good reason.

    Sure, you can have an iPod. I figure that since we're far enough along for an industry to have taken over, people would have cell phones and such, too.
     
    Name: Toru Mutou (Goes by Mute)
    Age: 14; has no badges.
    Gender: Boy
    Appearance: He has black hair, bushy enough to cover his left eye. He wears two hair clips to remove it from his other eye. He's really skinny for a boy, only wearing 98 lbs, but he stands 5'4" in height. He wears cargo pants, a dusty brown color, and a black T-shirt. When it's cold, he also includes his zip-up hoodie, though sometimes he wears it anyway, with the sleeves pushed up. He also constantly has heaphones on. His iPod'll always be in his pocket, playing something Japanese, emo, or just plain angry.
    Personality: Mute is a very quiet boy. He doesn't mind interacting, but he is softspoken, usually leaving his sentences to fewer than six words. But that's not to say he's anti-social; He just doesn't really like talking. That doesn't stop him, however, from telling you exactly how he feels.
    Biography: Mute was always a sheltered child. Living in a secluded mansion on the outskirts of Petalburg forest, somewhere far-off that not even explorers have found, he didn't have many friends…just the ones his mother had bought off to play with him. Soon after, the house cought fire (Mute was seven), and they moved into the city. They still got a big house, but it wasn't nearly as secluded. He got his first pokemon, a Torchic, at age eight, and started taking battle lessons from a private tutor. When he told his mother, about a year later, that he wanted to go adventure, and even take the gym challenge, she slapped him and said "What, my personal trainer isn't good enough for you?! Then get out!"
    He then ran. Far…far away. He made his way over Rusturf tunnel and took residence with a small family of three-the mother, father, and their daughter. He stayed for about a year, once again leaving with his pokemon to find himself. The poke, now a Combusken, helped him capture a Trapinch he found near the entrance to the Desert east of Lavaridge. He went on to catch himself two more pokemon, a Staryu and a Phanpy. He's travelled most of Hoenn, finally resting in Lilycove City. Three years passed, and most of his Pokemon have evolved, (Flygon being the only final stage), but he's still taking it somewhat easy. Upon getting the letter, he figured it was time to 'set sail' once again. He boarded the ship bound for Snowpoint, and looked off the side.

    "Looks like…we're going on."

    Name: Combusken
    Breed: Combusken
    Personality: Hot-headed; always ready for a fight. It has a deep caring for Mute, always cheering him up when he's sad. Also is an extreme pyromaniac-so much so that it set so many fires in the Safari Zone that Mute's banned from going there again.
    Since when: Age Eight.


    Name: Flygon
    Breed: Flygon
    Personality: Exremely hyperactive. It also has a strange issue with biting-if you're new around him, he'll probably bite you. Not hard-just a nibble.
    Since when: Three years ago; caught in the Desert. It evolved from Trapinch two years ago, then Flygon a month ago.


    Name: Starmie
    Breed: Starmie
    Personality: Quiet, protective. Almost motherly. It loves to swim, and also finds a way to gather berries for Mute when he needs them.
    Since when: Safari Zone; He borrowed a rod from another trainer to catch it. He then found a Waterstone while swimming, and of course, Staryu reacted to it, changing into it's 10-pointed evolution, Starmie.


    Name: Donphan
    Breed: Donphan
    Personality: Rambunctious-Sorta like Flygon, but much more violent. It likes to roll around and thrash-Mute has to keep him inside his Pokeball a lot of the time to avoid injury and collateral damage.
    Since when: Safari Zone-Evolved on Route 121 when it needed to defend Mute from someone trying to steal his money and possessions.

    Interesting Fact: Mute can play the Guitar, Bass, and Drums exceptionally well...but he can't sing at all.
    BTW;; It isn't really important, but Mute is Japanese-American, and likes to be referred to as such.

    Name: Mariah Dwight


    Age: 15, three badges


    Gender: Female


    Appearance: Mariah is of an average size, about 5' 3", and 120 pounds. Her eyes are a basic dark brown and she's fairly pale for the amount of time she spends in the sun. Her hair, however, tends to stick in memory. Naturally, it's light brown, but that color is hard to find. Her hair falls straight down to her shoulder blades and has streaks of nearly every color in it. Mariah prefers to wear tight-fitting black T-shirts and cargo pants, usually tan. She carries a dark purple colored back pack with her at all times, and is almost never seen without it. She keeps her badges on an inside pocket. Despite the weather, she prefers not to wear a jacket if possible. Her footwear only ever consists of a ruddy old pair of sneakers that are nearly falling of her feet, and covered in tape.

    Personality: Mariah is a 'survivor' type of girl, one of those people who don't let anyone get in the way of what they're doing. Forever perseverant, when Mariah develop a goal she tends to stick to it and plow through circumstances. When the situation prevents her from completing her goal the way she planned, she'll draw back, replan, and charge again. Unfortunately. this also means that she'll go blindly into situations she doesn't know the depth of, and generally doesn't bother to find out. She's also horrible at paying attention to detail, though she tends to see the bigger picture more easily than others.

    Biography: Mariah grew up on a Poke'mon Ranch in the Johto region, full of small children, small Poke'mon, large Poke'mon, and a variety of workers. Her family, however, did not own the ranch in question, they merely worked and lived on it. Mariah grew up with hordes of competition over everything – a new outfit, a new book, an old Poke'ball, there was competition over everything. The workers on the ranch consisted of three families and the owners of the ranch sometimes hired an extra hand. Mariah found out about the Playful Poke'mon company's real intentions earlier than most – she found out where many of the poke'mon on the ranch were going when they disappeared. The ranch was owned by a prominent person in the upper parts of Playful Poke'mon company. When she discovered this, Mariah knew she couldn't keep helping – she convinced her family to let her go on a journey to 'learn more about Poke'mon'.

    She got to pick a Poke'mon from the ranch to take with her, she chose a Ponyta, as it had been her companion around the ranch for some time and set out. She was twelve. From that point, she caught an Oddish almost immediately and befriended it. She also caught a Pidgey. These three Poke'mon have been her constant companions since she met them, and they're fairly good friends. She challenged Brock at his gym, but couldn't seem to win on her first try, but being who she was, Mariah tried until she succeeded weeks later. She continued around the Johto region emphatically, also catching a Magnemite just before she beat Misty's gym. She was emphatic when both her Ponyta and her Pidgey evolved right before she challenged Whitney. Just shortly after she beat Whitney in battle and won her Plain Badge, she received her letter. She didn't think she was talented enough to be recognized by Lance himself, but who was she to judge? She took the boat to the Sinnoh region.

    Name: Flare
    Breed: Rapidash
    Personality: Loyal and cheerful, she's nearly always happy.
    Since when: Flare has been Mariah's constant companion since she started her journey.


    Name: Oddish
    Breed: Oddish
    Personality: a somewhat sullen character, she's the only one in the group with any common sense.
    Since when: shortly after Mariah started her journey, she met and captured Oddish.


    Name: Wings
    Breed: Pidgeotto
    Personality: hard-working but a lover of pranks.
    Since when: a little over a year ago


    Name: Magnemite
    Breed: Magnemite
    Personality: Carefree and playful, always conspiring with Wings.
    Since when: captured just after Mariah challenged Misty.

    Interesting fact: loves hiking through unknown areas.

    Well, I imagine we'll need a few more than two people, so as soon as we get a few more people we can start, and maybe we'll get a few others as it continues.
     
    OK, great! I tend to be on fairly often so far, but I just joined, so I don't have a trend I can tell you about. My profile's up, now we just need to wait for others.
     
    Hey, everyone. This is my first Role-play, so bare with me.

    Name: Nakamura Takumi, (Takumi = artisan and Nakamura = middle village)

    Age: 19, 4 badges (after all, he started late)

    Appearance: Takumi is about 5' 5" and weighs about 130 pounds. He has a small figure. His eyes are dark brown. He can usually be seen wearing khaki pants with a black T-shirt, with a plaid green shirt over the T-shirt. He keeps his pitch black hair cut down low and well-kept. He can always be seen with his brush in his backpack. His backpack is forest green and made of denim material. His favorite shoe brand is Reebok and refuses to wear any other brand. He loves to draw. He never leaves without his sketch pad, and whenever one gets filled up, he drops everything (even a battle once) until he can buy himself a new one.

    Personality: When you first meet Takumi, you get the feeling that he is brushing you off. However, this is not always the case. The first thing people who know Takumi say about him is that he is easy-going and cool. He seems a little intimidating at times. Sometimes he feels that he can get everything done on his own and gets into trouble. His pride never allows him to admit that he is wrong, especially when it is someone he does not know. Although he seems to be a troubled person (though in some way he is), he cares deeply for his friends and family, including his Pokémon.

    Biography: As a child, Takumi was stricken with a sickness and therefore had to take medication that caused him to gain weight. Because of this, he could not start his journey right away and was teased in school. This played a major role in his personality. However, that did not stop him from giving up. He devoted his spare time to training with the Shinx he grew up with. One day, during a routine check-up, he was given some good news. He had fully recovered from his sickness! Now that the medication was out of the picture, the weight dropped, but he was still upset with the world over what had happened.

    One day, while training with his newly-evolved Luxio, an old classmate passed by his house.

    "Hey, little Taku! Whatcha doing?" This particular classmate was the one who gave him the most trouble.

    "I see that you've lost weight. Are you gonna leave home now?" The Persian that traveled with him purred in agreement. "I bet you won't even make it past the first gym leader!"

    "Even if I don't make it past Roark, I can run all over you!" The anger inside of Takumi began to swell up. "I could beat you in a battle any day, anytime, anywhere!"

    "We'll see about that!" The old bully motioned Persian forward. "A one-on-one battle, right here and now!"

    "Fine with me!" Takumi motioned Luxio forward. "I'll attack first! Luxio, use Discharge!" Luxio ran forward to the trainer and his Pokémon and unleashed all of the electricity stored in his body, shocking both the trainer and his Pokémon (Needless to say, the trainer did not take it so well, after all, this isn't the anime).

    When Takumi realized what he had done, he was shocked. The police would be coming soon. The ambulance would come. Everyone would blame him. This could not be happening. He had to get away. He quickly grabbed him backpack, his sketchbook, a couple of Poke balls and left home. The 17-year-old's Pokémon journey had just begun.

    As Oreburgh City came into view, Takumi grew excited. He knew his first gym battle was coming up. It was tough. Denki, who was an electric type, was not quite useful. In fact, she was nearly knocked unconscious with one attack. However, Eevee somehow came through, perhaps in an attempt to provide itself.
    Gardenia was fairly easy. Maylene posed a problem. By now, Eevee had evolved into Umbreon, so its Dark-type attacks were not very effective. However, Luxray was able to take them down. Crasher Wake was no problem at all. Luxray shocked the Pokemon into oblivion!

    Right after getting his fourth badge, Takumi headed to the Pokémon Center. Nurse Joy handed him a letter. "Well," he told Luxray and Umbreon, "looks like we've got a free trip to Snowpointe City. But first, I'm gonna need a new sketch pad."

    Pokémon Name: Denki (Japanese word for electricity)

    Breed: Luxray (Female)

    Personality: Denki's personality is the complete opposite of her trainer's. She is outgoing and fun-loving, thus she never stays in her poke ball. In fact, she does not have a poke ball. She does not meet any strangers. She treats everyone that she meets as a friend. She constantly pushes Takumi to loosen up and have fun. In fact, if it weren't for her, Takumi probably would never meet any new friends because of his shy attitude towards others. Denki and Takumi are very protective of each other.

    Since when: Denki practically grew up with Takumi. Her father was a partner with Takumi's mother and her mother was a partner with Takumi's father, so the tradition passed on to them.

    Name: Umbreon

    Breed: Umbreon (Male)

    Personality: Umbreon is very shy and sometimes does not trust the people that he meets. He has a bad case of claustrophobia and also does not stay in his poke ball. Since being with Takumi, Umbreon has slowly been developing a better sense of trust for humans and other Pokémon.

    Since when: As an Eevee, Umbreon was mistreated by his trainer. He was trained to aggressively with no rest or food unless he did what was required. Because of this, Eevee ran away from his trainer and wander the streets of a nearby village stealing food to survive. One night while digging in a dumpster, Eevee was kidnapped by a gang of would-be thugs. Takumi, hearing the distant cries came to the rescue with his Luxray. After that, Eevee developed a sense of trust with Takumi. Eevee evolved into Umbreon one night, when the Takumi, Luxray, and he setting up camp. He truly felt happy to be able to find a trainer who cared for him and not his battling abilities.

    Pokémon: Rapidash (Female)

    Personality: Rapidash is a very hard worker. She tries to please her trainer in everything that she does. She loves to give rides on her back, especially to those she really likes. She loves sweet poffins and also loves performing in contests. She is a caring Pokémon with a motherly nature.

    Since when: Takumi met Rapidash near Solaceon Town. She was the only Rapidash who did not have any baby Ponyta of her own. When Takumi came, holding an egg, she saw her opportunity. Takumi allowed her to travel with her so that she could be a part of a family.

    Personality: Little is known about his egg.

    Since when: Takumi received this egg from the Daycare Man in Solaceon Town. The man said that he'd received it from a strange medieval looking guy. Takumi happily received the egg and eagerly waits to see what it will hatch into.

    Interesting Fact: Takumi loves to draw fantasy Pokémon. He draws them and dreams of actually meeting one of his creations one day.

    Name:Taryn Sontaro "The Shadow" (or shadow)

    Gender: male

    Age:14 (two badges)

    Appearance: Shadow(ill refer to him as that) Has black hair covering his forehead and one eye, and light skin. He used to wear glasses, but he got tired of them and swapped out for a pair of black contacts. He has a scar, goiing down his neck and ending at his shoulder. He is fairly tall, about 5'11 and is really skinny. He adopted the name "Shadow" because he wears so much black. Honestly, he has black Jeans,(ripped of course) Black shirts And a very important black jacket. His face always appears to be judging people, or sizing them up. most of the time, he is impossible to read. in fact, the only two emotions on his face are anger and just calm. He has a pair of Black sneakers, and an accessory that is unusual for one like him, Dog tags. No one is sure why he wears them, but he just came home with them one day.

    Personality: Shadow Has an aggressive calm angry personality. It is rather odd. no one is sure When he's going to act what, but They usually can tell by the way a conversation is going. Shadow has no friends except for his pokemon because of this. He was once "normal", but one day he came home and became this. before he was kind, nice and friendly. He Really feels no comfort with parents, and he doesnt like people telling him what to do. When he gets angry, he'll snap. Whenever he examines his dogtags, an almost sad look will come over his face almost as if remembering something sad... afterwards, the normal angry look will appear on his face and he'll become himself again.

    History: You may not believe it now, but Shadow was born a happy smiling baby in Sandgem town. He had thin little wisps of hair and a happy face. He grew up as a toddler, just toddling from place to place. when he turned four however, his Toddling left him in a forest.Alone. He soon made friends however, as he did not seem to be afraid of ANYTHING. His friends were a small gastly and Beldum, both abandonded by trainers. He began to visit them every day, even after Toddlerhood.(I Know, it's not a real word!) When he reached the age of 6, his parents entered him in school in Jubilife city. He still made a habit to visit Grast and Shopz(the gastly and beldum) every day. This continued, untill he became 9. When he went into the forest on that day, June 16th, He was devastated. Grast and Shopz had been murdered.(details spared) Shadow went to Shopz body, and carefully removed two of his claws. he stained one of the claws with what was left of Grast's now liquefying Gas cloud. He had the claw's engraved with unknown runes, except for one thing, the date. He had a hole placed in each claw, and bought a chain to thread through them. To this day he wears the dog tags. The sorrow caused him to begin to wear black clothing as well. A year later, a strange man moved into Sandgem town. Nothing special really happened to Shadow untill he turned 11. On his eleventh birthday, he left after the ceremonies and went to his spot in the woods. Strangely, there was already someone waiting for him. When Shadow saw the stranger, he became extremely annoyed. There was someone else visiting his spot. Now before i continue further, let me describe the stranger. It was a person in a Dark black cloak. they had jewlrey all over the cloak and had a large gem in the chest of the cloak. The stranger stared at Shadow and turned to the graves. pulling two objects out of her cloak. They looked at shadow and said "chose one." Shadow looked at her hands. in their left hand was a purple egg. and in their right hand was a blue egg with a red spot. Shadow smiled stariing up at the stranger. He chose the blue egg and headed home. Shadow went to thank the stranger the next day, but they were gone. Shadow took care of that egg for a whole year before it hatched, in the form of a tiny baby beldum. The day it hatched was the anniversary of his friends' deaths. Taking the money he had left, He went to a pokemart and bought 5 pokeballs. His immeadiate idea was to head to Jubilife, and then to oreburgh. Making it to oreburgh wasnt very tough. Roark was though. Shadow Trained in the area outside of Oreburgh with his beldum, Dimond. While training, he found a machop in the wild. while training, he battled the machop with difficulty. after wearing it down some, he tossed his pokeball at it. 1....2....3...Yes! he had caught it! Naming it Luke, he went back and challenged Roark again. Winning the battle this time, he walked off with his brand new badge. Now, he had to get to Eterna city. Training Dimond and Luke along the way, he stopped at Floaroma town for a quick rest. Everyone told him he should visit the windworks. Coming up on the Windworks, he saw something floating. Whipping out his pokedex, he identified it as a Drifloon. He sent out Dimond and told him to use take down. Every attack passed Through it! Then Shadow got an idea. he sent out Luke and told him to use Foresight. The Drifloon Appeared to solidify slightly, and Dimond hit it. Dimond continued to pelt the drifloon with attacks, until it barely floated. Taking out his pokeball, he tossed it towards the Drifloon. 1....2....3....YES! After that battle, Shadow went to the pokemon center. He heard tales of the eterna forest, and that going through was the only way to Eterna. Grabbing a few potions, he headed off into the forest. Despite every thing he heard about it, none of the tales about Eterna Forest were true, Except for The one about the Old Chateu. He could tell it was crawling with ghost pokemon, but he could'nt get in, the doors were locked. Shadow headed off into Eterna city without a hitch. Going into Gardenia's gym, Shadow Played a game of hide and seek, trying to find her. When he got to her, she congratulated him. then the battle began. All of her pokemon were pushovers, except for her Turtwig. Both Dimond and Luke were KOed by it. Using his last resort, he sent out Blooney, and even then it was close. In a final stand, Blooney Used constrict then gust, KOing the Turtwig. When He went back to the Pokemon Center to heal, Nurse Joy had a letter for him. Shadow opened the letter and Read its contents. He nodded, they would head for snowpoint in the morning.

    Pokemon:

    Dimond
    Species: beldum
    Gender:N/A
    Dimond is the Pokemon that emerged from the egg that the stranger gave him. it is very nice, and it loves to hug Shadow. One thing that's odd about it though, is that it is a little smaller than most other Beldums. Shadow treats it the best, supposedly because it reminds him of the Beldum he grew up with in the forest.
    Moveset:Take down (he's a BELDUM! they only learn one move!)

    Luke
    Species: Machop
    Gender: male
    Luke is the Machop that Shadow caught outside of Oreburgh. Luke Is kind of Moody and he hasnt yet developed that Trainer pokemon bond yet.
    Moveset: Karate chop Low kick Foresight

    Blooney
    Species: Drifloon
    Gender:Female
    Blooney is a very Skittish Drifloon. He is afraid of Everything, including its own shadow. It is still wary of Shadow, as He Beat it to a pulp when he caught it. But it can be nice, and it loves to battle.
    Moveset: Constrict Gust Payback [new] Willowwisp

    Squeel
    Species: Swinub
    Gender: Female
    Squeel is a new addition to Shadow's team as she was caught during the contest that the league announced during the time they were in snowpoint. Squeel is still a bit skittish because she has not had much time to bond with shadow or his team. Shadow believes that in time, Squeel will come to be a great friend of everyone in the team. Squeel like other Swinubs loves to eat and Shadow has to feed her seperately from all of his other pokemon.
    Moveset: powder snow, icy wind, ice shard, take down

    Interesting fact: Secretly hopes to one day either: save the world, become famous, or become Elite four.
