    Chapter One: A Case Revealed

    20-year-old Misty Waterflower of Cerulean City gazed out at the azure sky on the train, depression in her emerald orbs. Misty had grown beautifully and her red hair now stopped at the mid length of her back that was tied into an elegant bun and boys were often attracted to her, but Misty simply ignored their gagging comments. Misty changed greatly for the past 4 years she departed from Brock and Ash to go her own direction. Misty was slightly bitter towards her friends and random people who approach her to ask a question or so and was really moody. Her tomboyish personality still lingered inside her, but instead of being loud and pretty much open, Misty was quiet.

    Misty heaved a sigh. Misty was on a train to Blackthorn City where she'd meet Clair (Clair is in charge of the Rising Badge on Pokemon in Johto on the episode, "Beauty Is Skin Deep") for her birthday party. 'I wish I would've told Ash how I felt before he was with Dawn,' Misty sobbed mentally.

    ~~~~
    Flashback: 4-years-ago
    It was a bright, cheery evening in Pallet Town and Ash's 16th birthday party. Every one of Ash's friends were there chatting and having fantastic time.
    "So, this is the day you tell Ash how you feel, Misty!" May chirped.
    "I wonder if he'll feel the same. Do you think so, May?"
    "Of course. You're a great girl Misty. Why in the world wouldn't he feel the same way?"
    "Thanks. Well, here I go."
    "Good luck."
    Misty paced over to Ash nervously, sweat moisturizing her hands. "Relax, Misty. Ash won't hurt you. Um, Ash?"
    "Yeah, Misty."
    "I just wanted to say that I li-"
    "Oh, wait, before you say anything, I'd like to introduce you to someone really special to me," Ash interrupted, a smirk curving at his mouth. "Misty I'd like to introduce you to my girlfriend."
    "G-girlfriend," Misty repeated, feeling tears well up in her eyes as Dawn appeared before her eyes. "D-Dawn is your girlfriend?"
    "Yeah, isn't it great! We sorta got together over our travels together. So, what was it you wanted to tell me, Misty?"
    "Oh, nothing," Misty replied, flashing the new couple Ash and Dawn a false smile. "Um, I think I need some fresh air. Congratulations by the way to you, Dawn."
    "Thanks, Misty." Dawn pecked Ash on the cheek, making Misty feel even worse.
    "I'll see you guys later, then."
    "Hmm? I wonder what's up with Misty?" Ash pondered.
    May glanced back at Misty as she was slow dancing with Drew (Drew and May settle their differences and became close friends). "Excuse me Drew, I need to talk with Misty."
    "Alright."
    "Hey Misty, what's up!? How'd it go with As-" May trailed off and her smile formed into a frown as she saw the sad expression and tears streaming down Misty's face.
    "Misty, what's the matter? Why are you crying?"
    "Ash is with Dawn now," Misty mumbled, wiping away her tears.
    "I'm so sorry, Misty," May apologized.
    "It's not your fault, it's mine. I should've told him how I felt before this ever happened. I might as well forget about Ash."
    "Misty."
    "I need some time to think. I'm going to go for a walk... Alone."
    The last firm word Misty said sent chills down the marrow of May's bones.
    Flashback Ended
    Misty had gotten over Ash on the outside and inside, but in her heart, the image of Ash and Dawn together made her heart ache. Misty averted her attention away from the sky to her sleeping Togepi. A tiny smile formed. Misty gently rocked Togepi before deciding to take a nap of her own to kill the dull, boring time she had on the train.
    "Misty...Misty...Misty, wake up!" a voice boomed.
    "What is it, Bridgette?" Misty yawned groggily. Togepi let out a drowsy yawn also.
    The brunnette replied, "We've arrived here in Blackthorn City. I'll escort you out with your luggage," Bridgette offered.
    "Thanks, Bridgette." The two woman carefully made their way off the train. "I hope you enjoy your stay here in Blackthorn City, Misty."
    "Thank you."
    "Good-bye!"
    Misty waved after the well mannered woman. "Alright Togepi, let's head over to Clair's place before we miss all of the fun."
    "Toge-piiiiiiiiii!"
    The trio headed towards their destination and just when they were coming in the area of the gym, they both came across posters taped throughout Blackthorn City. "Huh, I wonder what these posters could be?" Misty analyzed the first poster she laid her teal eyes on. It read:
    ATTENTION ALL CITIZENS AND OUTSIDERS OF BLACKTHORN CITY, THERE HAVE BEEN MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARNACES AROUND BLACKTHORN CITY. IF ANYBODY HAPPENS TO COME ACROSS ANY CLOTHING OR ACCESSORIES ON THIS POSTER, CONTACT OR REPORT THIS INFORMATION TO THE POLICE STATION IMMEADIATELY! OFFICER JENNY
    "Mysterious disappearances, huh? Sounds interesting to me." Misty, along with Togepi, took a closer look at the 8 people on the poster.
    "Hey, you!" a voice called.
    Misty darted around to find Officer Jenny dashing towards her. "Is there anything wrong, Officer Jenny?"
    "You look awfully strange. Are you an outsider because I haven't seen you before around Blackthorn City?"
    "Sort of. I'm here to attend the gym leader Clair's birthday party. She invited me 2 weeks ago. Here's my proof." Misty handed the invitation to Officer Jenny.
    "Sorry about the misunderstanding, Misty," Officer Jenny apologized, rubbing the back of her head embarrassingly. "I'm sure you've read the poster that were posted around the city about the disappearances and I've just been very suspicious about outsiders. Anybody from here or outside could be the suspect. If you happen to come across anything relating to these people, you come to the station immediately. Here's a copy of the eight people's pictures and profiles."
    "Thanks, but when did all this start, Officer Jenny?"
    "I believe three months ago when Diana Ginger and her daughter Kimmy Ginger moved in. I've been getting reports from the citizens that they saw Kimmy around those people when they went missing."
    "Kimmy could be the kidnapper you know."
    "I don't really understand how she could be, considering she's only ten. Why won't you come with me to meet the Ginger family Misty before you head on over to your party."
    "Sure, the party starts in 45 minutes anyway."
    "Excellent!"
    ~~~~

    "Knock, knock, knock, Mrs. Ginger, are you home!?" Officer Jenny asked.

    "Oh hello there, Officer Jenny. Who's this lovely young lady?"

    Misty blushed. "I'm Misty Waterflower, Mrs. Ginger," Misty introduced herself. "Nice to meet you."

    "It's a pleasure to meet you too." Diana Ginger was an alluring blonde haired woman with the loveliest amber eyes anybody stared into.

    "Please, come in. Would any of you like any teacakes or green tea?"

    "No thank you," Officer Jenny and Misty declined. "Mrs. Ginger, Misty and I came over to maybe ask you a few questions about your daughter Kimmy."

    "What about Kimmy, Officer?"

    "I'm not trying to offend you or your daughter,ma'am, but I've been getting reports from the citizens that Kimmy was the last seen with the missing people before they were suddenly gone. Your daughter could maybe be the kidnapper."

    "I was afraid this would happen again," Mrs. Ginger sighed.

    "What do you mean?" Misty asked.

    "I might as well admit it. 3-years-ago my husband died in a tragic car accident in Viridian City. Kimmy grieved for months about Dan's death and performed a resurrection spell 4 months after his death, but the spell went totally wrong. I read the book she used to perform it and it said that if the spell is a complete failure, the user would be cursed with an evil spirit who was the author of the book. The author kidnapped many innocent people and sapped their sould right from their bodies, leaving them dead. I thought the book was only some omen, but a month later, the same kidnappings were going on all over again and many people also reported that Kimmy was the last with them. Officer Jenny forced us to leave Viridian City for the safety of the people living so she could peacefully continue the case without anymore interruptions. The same thing happened in each town or city we decided to live in and now I'm starting to think Kimmy is behind all of this."

    "Thank you for the information, ma'am, but I think you should keep a close eye on Kimmy from now on. You're a very sweet woman Mrs. Ginger and it would really be bad to run you out of town when you've been a great help around the city."

    "I'll do so, Officer Jenny."

    "Thank you for all the information."

    "Anytime."

    After bidding their short farewells, Misty said, "Do you really think Kimmy could be the one behind this, Officer Jenny?"

    "Maybe so, but I'll be keeping an eye on her, though. You come by the station anytime you find anything Misty? Understand."

    "Yep. I'll see you later, I have to go down to the gym. Bye!"

    "Stay safe, Misty, and remember, keep a watch for clues."

    "I will." Misty scampered off to the gym when she collided into a familiar friend. "Oh my gosh, sorry about that."

    "It's alright."

    Misty looked up and gasped. "May?"

    "Long time no see, Misty."

    to be continued...

    Hope you liked the first chapter! See ya!:laugh:

    I'd like to apologize about posting Pokemon: The Mystery of Blackthorn City twice by accident. Just read the second story after the first story and leave the first cope alone! Anyway, here's chapter two!

    Chapter Two: The Reunion

    May had definitely changed over the years. Instead of her earlier hairstyle, her hair was now straightened that stopped at her shoulders and was tied into a tight, upper ponytail. May's friendly and bubbly nature still beeped within her, but a tiny bit of cruelness was inside her for some reason and her intelluctual knowledge of Pokemon had increased.

    "Wow May, you sure look different than you were 4-years-ago," Misty noticed. "The only reason I recognied you were by your sapphire eyes and voice."

    "You've changed, too. Looks like you've grown your hair longer." May's kind nature switched to a more furious rate. "Where were on the day of Ash's party when you said you were going to take a walk!? May scolded at Misty. "We were all worried sick about your whereabouts, especially Ash and I for that matter. We thought you were kidnapped!"

    Misty was taken back by May's actions for the moment, but she didn't really blame her for being angry at her for not at least informing everyone she was leaving that day. "Look May, I just needed time to myself. To think about the mistake I made."

    "Is this still about Ash!? Didn't you tell me you were going to get over him and you two could just be friends!?"

    "You have no idea how it feels to be heartbroken after you've cared so much about one person for years!" Misty fired at May. "You can't help me if you don't have the same feelings as I do."

    "I can help you, Misty," May counterattacked. "Ash still does have the same feelings for you."

    "What are you talking about?"

    "I think you should find out for yourself, but I guess I should get going right now. See you la-"

    "Wait!"

    "What is it?"

    "Just to say sorry for the way I acted, would you like to come to this party I'm going to?"

    "Sure, and I'm sorry for the way I acted, too. Friends?" May held her hand out as a gesture.

    "Friends," Misty agreed, connecting her hand to May's.

    ~~~~
    "Hey Clair, I'm here for the party!" Misty called.
    "Alright Misty, I'll be out in just a sec."
    "Who's this Clair you speak of Misty?" May asked.
    "Clair is in charge of the Rising Badge and gym leader of this place we're standing in. She invited me to her birthday party two-weeks-ago."
    "Is anyone else coming?"
    "Yeah, friends of Clair's will be here, but they said they'll be a little late."
    "How do I look?"
    Misty and May glanced over at Clair and gasped. Clair wore a sparkling, long sleeved, aqua colored dress stopping at her knees and stunning matching aqua, high heeled shoes. The accessories Clair wore was 3 blue bangles on both of her hands, a sky blue brooch in the middle of her dress, and a gold necklace with a baby blue jewel embedded within it. In conclusion, Clair looked fabulous.
    Misty and May's mouths dropped open. "I'll take that as a gorgeous," Clair guessed. "So Misty, who's your friend here? I don't remember inviting her?"
    "This is my friend May. May, Clair, Clair, May."
    "Nice to meet you, Clair," May said, curtseying as a sign of her respect.
    "Any friend of Misty, is a friend of mine. It's great to be in your acquaintance, May. Anyway, welcome to my party. Some friends of mine will be arriving soon, so until then, why won't you and Misty have something to eat."
    "Thank you, but no thank you, Clair," Misty and May said in unison.
    The day went by rapidly, and still no sign of anybody entering the gym for the party. Clair began to get really concerned and suspicious and made her final decision by calling Officer Jenny. "Guys, I think I'm going to call Officer Jenny. This is really unlike them to not show up when the day is almost over."
    'Maybe it's because Kimmy. Could she have gotten Clair's friends?' Misty thought. Maybe it isn't safe to stick around here any longer when a little is suspected of a serious crime. May and I could get involved, which usually leads to trouble. No, I have to help these people no matter the consequences.'
    "Hello?" Officer Jenny picked up.
    "Officer Jenny, you know about my party right?"
    "Of course, you told me about it about three or two-days-ago. Is there anything crucial going on that you need my help with?"
    "My friends haven't shown up yet, Officer Jenny."
    "It's common that- Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!"
    Officer Jenny shrieked.
    The phone suddenly hung up. "Hello? Officer Jenny, are you there?" The curling scream before Officer Jenny hung up the phone paralyzed May, Clair, and Misty with pure fear.
    "What happened?" May asked, quivering uncontrollably.
    "I don't know," Misty answered, going through the same stage as May. "M-M-M-M-Maybe we should go to the police station to check it out."
    "Okay," Clair gulped.
    ~~~~

    Down at the station, everything was smashed up and fragments of windowns were scattered everywhere. There were also signs of burn marks, a piece of Officer Jenny's skirt, and the phone Officer Jenny used to answer Clsir's call was crushed. "Okay, this is really getting creepy," May said. "Has this already happened to anyone else around the city?"

    "As a matter of fact, yes." Misty took a deep breath before continuing. "Eight people have already gone missing in Blackthorn City already and posters have been posted of each of the involved people. Officer Jenny must've been the next one."

    "This doesn't sound very good," Clair commented. "I think we should search for Officer Jenny. Let's all split up."

    "But what'll we use to stay in touch with each other?"

    "Easy May, walkie talkies will do the trick." Clair dug into Officer Jenny's desk and found three extra walkie talkies stashed inside. "If we come across anything, we all contact one of us," Clair directed. "Just be careful, we might run into the one that nabbed Officer Jenny."

    "Right!"

    May's POV

    May wandered the streets of Blackthorn City carelessly, admiring the wonderful buildings. The bustling streets of the city made it difficult for May to track the kidnapper and Officer Jenny.

    "Hmmm, I wonder who's suspected to be the kidnapper. I feel like Misty wasn't telling me the entire story." May slowed her pace when she spotted Officer Jenny's cap lying on the streets. "Officer Jenny's cap. I gotta to tell the guys." May punched in her walkie talkie. "Misty, come in. Come in, Misty."

    "Did you find anything, May?" Misty responded over the device.

    "Yeah, it was Officer Jenny's cap lying on the streets. I think I'm on the kidnapper's trail now. Tell Clair."

    "Right!"

    May continued her search down the sidewalk, eying every citizen that may have something to do with Officer Jenny's disappearance. 'This is getting me nowhere,' May thought. 'I should probably question some people if they saw Officer Jenny or not.'

    "Excuse me, sir, have you seen Officer Jenny?" May interrogated.

    "Officer Jenny? No. I don't really know why'd she be out here in the first place."

    "Thanks, anyway. Ma'am, did you happen to see anybody carrying Officer Jenny or anything?"

    "Carrying the officer? Why no."

    "Thanks." The interrogating went on and on 'til May gave in and decided to just search for Jenny the old fashion way.

    Misty's POV

    "Where did you see the figure again, sir?" Misty asked. Misty was in a clothing shop asking the owner and manager of the shop where he last saw this strange "figure".

    "Well, I was taking a short nap when I woke up and saw somebody at about 4 feet carrying somebody. I didn't get a clearer look at the figure because I had just woken up and everything was all blurry to me. The figure went north of my shop into the forest."

    "Thanks!" Misty frantically made her way out of the tiny shop to the forest. 'Now it's time to reveal the kidnapper for good.'

    In the forest, Misty was enraged by how the forest appeared before her eyes. Trees were decayed, Pokemon were on the ground bruised, and no life was no more to be found. "That dirty little creep!" Misty exclaimed.

    The outburst frightened little Togepi. "Toge."

    "Sorry about that, Togepi. Let's go!" Up ahead, Misty could see a figure and Officer Jenny wrapped around in some force of dark energy that seemed to be identified as a whip. "Officer Jenny," Misty whispered. Misty pushed through the foliage to look at the person.

    "Rats!" Misty cursed. The figure was apparently wearing a mask to conceal its idenity. "Hey you, let go of Officer Jenny!"

    The figure reacted by semding a dark smoke attack that wrapped its smoke around Misty. Misty and Togepi were caught by surprise by the figure's powers. Before the smoke could completely tie itself around Misty, Misty groped through her pocket for her Starmie's pokeball, but the masked figure wipped the pokeball away from Misty's grasp. "Noooooo!" Misty began to cough violent. "There's *cough* *cough* poison in the smoke. Hold on, Togepi." Misty placed Togepi in her bag for protection. Before Misty knew it, she had fainted, letting the kidnapper make its escape.

    Clair's POV

    "What in the world? Was that Misty? It couldn't be. Maybe I'm just hearing things." Clair brushed the thought aside and decided to check on May and Misty. "Misty, come in, Misty." There was no answer. "This is Clair Misty, do you read me?" Still no response. 'Something must've happened to her. What if that scream I heard was her, but where did it come from is the question?'

    ~~~~
    "Misty...Misty...Misty...Misty wake up!"
    Misty's eyes fluttered open and made contact with her old friend, Ash Ketchum. "Ash?"
    "Hey Misty, it's good to see you again!"
    "Pi-ka-chu!" Pikachu harrumphed.
    "It's great to see you again too, Ash," Misty said, hiding her blush that Ash was centimeters away from her lips. "What are you doing here?"
    "I was just here with Dawn and Brock. By the way, Brock is downstairs making you some soup. When we found you in the forest, you and Togepi were beat up pretty badly."
    "Togepi? Oh no, where's Togepi!?"
    "Relax, Togepi is just downstairs with Brock," Ash comforted. "Why won't stay here in the inn with us until you recover."
    "We're in an inn?"
    "Yeah. This woman named Wanda offered us to stay inside for a couple of days. Dawn and I are here so we can pick out a wedding dress. We're now engaged and the wedding is in 6 months."
    "Engaged?" Misty copied, holding back tears. "That's great, Ash!I'm really happy for you!"
    "Thanks. Oh yeah, we found Clair and May in the city. They were really worried about you Misty. What happened?"
    "Well, Officer Jenny was nabbed by somebody when we were calling her at the gym. We all split up to search for her, and I ended up stalking the kidnapper. The rest is kind of a blur. I do remember some kind of smoke poisoning me, but the rest is a mystery."
    "Maybe that poison must have did something with your head. You should rest for awhile."
    "Thanks."
    to be continued....
    Hope you liked this chapter!;)
    Chapter Three: The First Clue
    "That thing attacked the lovely, Officer Jenny!?" Brock boomed.
    "Geez Brock, relax. You didn't even let Misty finish. Continue."
    "When May, Clair, and I arrived at the scene of the crime, everything was destroyed as if a Pokemon did it, but when I went into the forest, the figure had a mask on and no clues that it was a Pokemon. These are the last belongings of Officer Jenny." Misty handed them to Ash but Brock ed them away.
    "Did Officer Jenny tell you who the suspects are?" Brock asked.
    "There was only one suspect and it was a 10-year-old named Kimmy Ginger. Jenny said she was always around the 8 people who were kidnapped."
    "How can a ten-year-old cause all of this ? You'd at least expect somebody a little older to have all that power," Brock reasoned.
    "I'm afraid you don't know the whole story, Brock. 3-years-ago Kimmy's dad died in a car . Filled with grief, Kimmy performed a resurrection spell to bring her father back to life, but the spell ended up being a faliure and inside the book Kimmy used to do the spell, it said that if the spell failed, the user would be cursed with a terrible, evil spirit that was the author. The spirit sucked away the souls of people and the same thing happened a month later after Kimmy did the spell. Does that answer your question?"
    "A resurrection spell, huh? Aren't those only omens?"
    "That's the same thing Mrs. Ginger thought, but I think it's realer than you think. We should help these people before the Blackthorn City population is wiped away."
    "I agree," Ash said. "What do you say, Brock?"
    "I'm in, but what about Dawn and the others?"
    "I'm sure they'll agree to help out in anyway they can," Ash assured.
    "How about we start tomorrow. Misty steal hasn't fully recovered, anyway, and we should always stick together," Brock suggested.
    That night at dinner, Wanda and Brock had worked together to make a luscious dinner of gumbo, sushi, potato gratin, riceballs, miso, and dumplings. For dessert, a dainty bowl of fresh peach cobbler was baked.
    "So Misty, you say you saw this masked figure with Officer Jenny?" Wanda asked.
    "Yeah. I was sure it was Kimmy, but that dumb mask was covering his or hers face."
    "Kimmy? Kimmy is the sweetest little I've met!" Wanda squealed. "Why would it be her?"
    "Because she was with every culprit before they disappeared. Her own mother is starting to think she's the kidnapper too."
    "Oh, dear. Is there anything I can do to help?"
    "I think it would be best to for us to handle this situation, ma'am. Ash, Brock, May, Dawn, and I have faced the same things, so it would be better if we should do this. No offence."
    "None taken, but you kids should be careful. This case sounds like a police's job. I know you can take care of yourselves now that you're s, but you're still very young."
    "We'll be fine, Wanda," Brock said. "With our Pokemon's help, we can solve this case hands down."
    "Is the first day of the investigation tomorrow?" May asked, cutting a slice of her dumplings.
    "Yeah," Ash answered. "We'll start at 9:00, but where will we start?"
    "Mrs. Ginger's house," Misty said. "She must know more things about Kimmy, so I'll show you guys to her house tomorrow morning."
    ~~~~

    "Is this Mrs. Ginger's house?"

    "Yes, Dawn." Misty lighly knocked on the door, expecting the door to swing open, but Diana only ed the door open.

    "What do you want?" Diana said, sounding in a hurry.

    "Um Mrs. Ginger, these are my friends and we just wanted to ask you more questions about Kimmy."

    "I'm sorry, but you're no longer welcome in my home. Good bye!" Mrs. Ginger slammed the door shut in Misty's face, locking it securely.

    "That was weird," Dawn observed. "I thought she was kind."

    "She is, but something must be bothering her," Misty said. "Maybe we should come back tomorrow when she's in a better mood. In the meantime, let's go to the police station and find more clues."

    In the inside of the Ginger residence, Diana was resting her back against the front door, looking guiltily down at the ground and a note in her clutches. Diana reread the note just to see if being rude to Misty and her friends was a complete mistake.

    It read: Tell your new friend Misty or any of her friends about me, and I'll kill your worthless daughter and anyone else close to you, like your husband.

    Diana squeezed the threatening note with all her might, tears leaking out her eyes. Diana's 5 pokemon, Glaceon, Jumpluff, Xatu, Cherrim, and Azumarill, went by her side to comfort her. "Thank you," Diana said, wiping away her tears. "You guys are the best Pokemon."

    Diana's very first Pokemon Glaceon jumped into her arms. "Thanks, Glaceon. I shouldn't be here crying, I should help Misty and her friends. But will Kimmy be alright."

    ~~~~
    Down at the police station, other officers were at the station and caution lines were put up. Even reporters were standing by the station talking about what happened yesterday.
    "Now how are we going to get inside?" May wondered. "We're not allowed inside with the police surrounding the place."
    "We'll have to sneak in," Ash said.
    "Sneak in," May snorted. "What if we get caught? We'll immediately be arrested."
    "It's never stopped us before. If you're so scared of sneaking in, just stay out here and distract them all while we go inside."
    "Scared, that's ridiculous. I'll make you eat your words, Ash Ketchum," May fumed. "I'll sneak in!"
    "Great, now come on!"
    "I'll use my Starmie to distract the police and reporters," Misty offered. Misty dug in her bag and froze. "What the- Where's Starmie's pokeball!? That thing must've made m drop it when it whipped my hand."
    "Don't worry, I can use Buneary," Dawn said. "Go, Buneary!"
    "Buneary!"
    "Okay Buneary, I need you to use your cute charm to preoccupy the reporters and police. Understand?"
    "Buneary!" Buneary replied with a nod. Buneary slowly walked over to where all the commotion was a going on and used its charm.
    "Look, it's a Buneary!" a reporter said. "It's so adorable!"
    While the people fell for the trap, the trio snuck inside the station. "You were right Misty, someone really did attack this attack this place," Brock said.
    "There's no time for talking, we have to find some clues, the charm won't last forever," Dawn urged.
    The gang analyzed the place, but found nothing. "Hey guys, I found something," Misty called. "It looks like a button." Misty pressed the button and a trap door opened underneath everybody.
    "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!" everybody screamed. They all ended up landing on each other.
    "Where are we?" Brock asked.
    "I think it's a tunnel, but underground the station?" May said. "Wait, this must be where the crook made its escape to the forest!"
    "You're right, May!" Misty approved. "If the kidnapper was out in the open, the citizens would be under suspicion."
    "That all seems to make sense to me," Brock said. "If we follow the tunnel, it can maybe lead to the forest."
    The gang once again set off on the pathway. The tunnel was extremely narrow and took them at least 20 minutes to finally reach the end of it before coming across a circular way upwards that needed to be climbed by a ladder first.
    "You go first, Ash," May said.
    Ash climbed the stairs and next went Brock as it went down the list. "You guys were right," Dawn said. "This is the forest, but where are all the Pokemon and why does everything look so decayed?"
    "The kidnapper did this," Misty said, reme,bering the first time she saw the condition the forest and Pokemon were in.
    "Burn marks and the remains of Officer Jenny's clothes are here," Brock noticed. "The kidnapper must've gone this way, since there's a trail of her clothes going north. Let's go."
    Everybody followed the road northward, but were disappointed to find it was only a end when they were finished. "A end!" Ash exclaimed. "This person must be really clever."
    "Maybe we should do more investigating tomorrow. The sunis going down and we won't be able to see anything," May advised.
    ~~~~

    "So far we've accomplished nothing," Misty said. "If we don't do something, then all of the people living here will be gone."

    "Don't give up hope yet. We found are first clue," May said.

    "What do you mean?" Ash asked.

    "Didn't any of you notice how strange Mrs. Ginger acted? Well, I think maybe the napper has something to do with this. If Mrs. Ginger is in a good mood, maybe she'll tell us what's on her mind."

    "Good idea!" Dawn harrumphed. "We can start first thing tomorrow morning."

    to be continued....

    This is pretty interesting. I actually read it yesterday but I had to go before reviewing.

    Anyway, the only thing I don't like is how you're missing a lot of description. You described what Misty looked like grown up; what about Dawn and Ash and the rest of them? Describe the people. Describe the places you visit. Describe Misty's thoughts on the entire thing.

    Also, proof-read your story as I saw only a few grammar issues. It's better than most people's, however.

    Good luck with future chapters!

    nice work. you should read my story Hurakio. It's not as long but i think its good. You should make a sequel to this story its awesome!

    This is actually pretty good! I enjoyed reading this, and I hope that you will continue this until the end.

    Just remember that with mysteries, description is crucial. You should drop little hints to make the readers wonder who did it and read until the end to see if they are right or not. And as diamondpearl876 said, you just need more description in general of the characters. It's not fair that Misty gets description and the other characters don't, neh?

    Proof-read your story before posting it too. There were a few incomplete words and other small issues. But there wasn't anything that was major. It's all the small stuff.

    Good luck on further chapters!

    Al luna, not to be rude or anything but when will you write the next chapter?

    I'm really enjoying this story! Only one thing that is sort of weird, Togepi evolved into Togepectic and left Misty in an Episode.

    togepectic.. lol..

    no but really, i agree with him. that DID happen, unless misty got togetic back sometime before this all happened? idk. if you want to take a break from writing this story at one point you could write a oneshot explaining how misty got him back.
