    has anyone gone to the previous pokemon VGC 2009?

    i gonna go for the 2010 since its near me this year.

    but i was wondering what was what are the trainers like?

    good? bad? easy? hard?

    tell me your experience.

    It's going to be tougher since they allowed ubers. I really wish they hadn't done that, now I can't use my favorite pokemon from my team...

    i hope i will get in a noob bracket...lol

    i want to fight good people not kids with ubers

    but i think the seniors wont use them...im not.

    Pokemon VGC? As in Video Game Championships? Y.. yeah, this goes in General Pokemon Gaming I think.

    Although it's good that it's far away from where I am, so nobody would know me, it's too far. And my parents would probably tell me to grow up:P

    I just wish I could get myself the Eevee....
     
    so no one knows how the tournament is set up?

    is it like world cup?

    where there are groups

    and the highest from each group goes on to the tournament single elimination

    or is it just the simple tiers?

    Luckly I basically live in Birmingham, so I'll be going, wonder if there will be player from around the Uk or just B'Ham area?

    i mean how are the battles set up?

    is it best two out of three?

    is it a tournament tree?

    blocks?

    It is a single elimination tournament. After registration, they will randomly pair up all the players. If you win a match, you move on. If you lose, you drop out. It starts with Preliminary rounds, then Elimination rounds. It'll eventually come down to the final two. The Top 16 get an invite to the Nationals Tournament. 4th-2nd also get a DSi, and a $300 travel allowance. first place gets a DSi and full 4day/3night hotel accommodations plus airfare (basically a full ride).

    For the Phoenix tournament, I understand only 500 entrants are allowed in the youth category. Do we need to be showing up at 7 am to make sure we get registered. Its on a first come first served basis. Does anyone have an opinion?

    Well I live up in the Verde Valley, so I'm leaving around 9:30-10 so I can get there at least an hour early. Senior registration starts at 1:00pm and ends at 1:30pm. But if you are in the Junior division, registration starts at 8am and ends at 8:30am, so if I were you I'd get there at least by 7am.
