Aloha members of PokeCommunity!
I am bitbybyte and well before I get into the topic of discussion here is my backstory:
I am a long-time Pokémon fan, and ever since I was 5 have loved the franchise. Ever since X and Y came out, I have been trying to test everything out and I came across some Competitive Battling videos on YouTube. Personally, I have never done competitive battling since I thought it was stupid but I'm starting to have different thoughts on it. I want to try it out and see what happens, I'm excited but want to know if my team is good enough. I have been wracking my brain for how to make my team and I came up with a Psychic Pokemon template for a team. It would be great if you guys could help me improve it!
Alakazam (Focus Sash)
-Magic Guard
Psychic
Focus Blast
Substitute
Signal Beam
Alakazam will always be my lead and will always try to take out the first Pokemon on the team. Alakazam is there for a strong special attacker, and covers the aspect of attacking in terms. Substitute is their just in case I'm fighting a Pokemon that can OHKO my Alakazam, I could substitute, attack, and hang onto Focus Sash for those OHKO moves.
Reuniclus (Life Orb)
-Regenerator
Psychic
Focus Blast
Calm Mind
Recover
Reuniclus is one of my favorite Poke's out there in terms of hanging out and just being annoying to other players. Calm mind is to increase my SPD and SPA, then when I get hit just recover from it by using Recover. Finally I use Focus Blast or Psychic to obliterate the other team. :D
Hypno (Leftovers)
-Forewarn
Toxic
Thunder Wave
Protect
Thunderbolt
This Hypno is going to be one of my more defensive guys and would cripple some of the faster Poke's. I put toxic and thunder wave on their so I could maybe disrupt the opposing teams stratagem. Protect is to defend my Hypno from destructive moves, just to make him last longer on the field. And finally thunderbolt is to take out enemies because assuming my enemy does not have a ground type that I could cause as much damage out there.
That's all I have for now guys, if you have more suggestions please comment down below and I will be updating this list as my team grows, thanks!
