1st Gen Pokemon Yellow: Bulbasaur help??

    What do I need to do to get Bulbasaur from the lady in Cerulean City? (from what I remember, the guide book is vague...but I'm out of town and don't have it with me anyways)

    I've completed nugget bridge and visited Bill, and I've beaten Misty and the rocket with dig. I have an open slot, and pikachu bounces and says "Pika pika" with a ^_^ face when I talk to it.
    What am I doing wrong?
     
    Keep using Potion on Pikachu, when it has max HP. Its happiness will keep going up. After a few "uses", it will be happy enough to get Bulbasaur
     
    That is strange... You should of gotten bulbasaur because those were the missions you suppose to do and order to get bulbasaur. Maybe Pikachu needs to be a certain level (Lv.20-30), or maybe you need to get the third badge just in case then get bulbasaur. Another idea I had was deposit every Pokemon with you to your PC except for Pikachu of course and try now if you can get bulbasaur.
     
    Thank you!! After I gave pikachu about 10 potions, she [finally] let me have it! (wow, I completely forgot that its icon...thing looks like a flower) Now to make it level up 10 levels... thanks again :)
     
    when i did that (give potions) it never worked -.-

    i could only get picachu if i used her against misty but not faint it, oh well
