Tawny nodded her head. "Well then, Falco seems to know what's what. Why don't you lead the way?" she said with a small smile, hugging her arms around her.
"Very well" I said, nodding my assent and beginning an easy walk, trying to keep to a slower pace for Seth. It wouldn't do to lose anyone, despite how anxious the speed might make me.
Tawny followed, warming up slightly as she moved around. It was a beautiful morning, and even though her mind was ridden with apprehension, she still appreciated nature's beauty in her heart.
"Nice day" I said evenly, loking for some way to get a conversation going. To me, it was a throwaway comment, no day was truly nice for me. It would be nice though, to get to know these two better.
"It's beautiful," Tawny whispered, revering in the morning sun. "Just feel the golden rays on your face, the light breeze in your hair. Can't you smell the crystalline dew?"
She didn't realize she was speaking aloud. Her eyes were closed lightly, and she had a faint smile playing about her lips.
"If you say so" I replied, a wan grin coming through. It fell straight off om face when I sank up to my knee in a marsh puddle. I quickly pulled myself out with a short shake of my head.
I grinned at them, still limping along behind them. I had gotten accustomed to teh dull pain I was dealing with now, and it was becoming easier to keep up.
