I hugged Akira tightly, losing control of myself. It had been the first time since I had let any emotion show since I was about eight. It was nice. I found myself trembling a bit as I hugged her.

"Teams are going to bid on us once we graduate," I said simply. "We can't stop that, not alone..." I looked at her seriously, my lavender eyes locked with hers. "Thank you for sticking with me, Akira."

As Akira returned the embrace she felt a strange, warm kind of feeling. She hadn't let anybody touch her since the incident, not even her family, but it was a very pleasant feeling, the feeling that someone actually cared. She listened to Hitari's shocking explanation:

"Bidded on? Like some kind of animals?, if Akira had had a tail it would have been lashing furiously at this point. How dare they?

Hitari looked at her seriously, her lavender eyes locked with Akira's. "Thank you for sticking with me, Akira."

"It's the least I can do." she replied, managing a weak smile "I just wish there was something I could about this auctioning situation." she sighed helplessly, the thought that not only she but also her only real friend would be sold off, probably to different places, and that she could do nothing about it was unbearable for Akira.

As she began to ponder the problem the, now turned, winds brought an unfamiliar smell to Akira's nostrils. The smell of another person. The girl suddenly got up on her feet, turning her eyes to the direction of the odor.

"Come on out, eavesdropper!" she growled, noticing a figure duck quickly behind a nearby tree "And don't fool yourself into believing that you can escape. I've already caught your scent."

After a moment of hesitation, Melody slowly moved from behind the tree. Slowly approaching Hitari and Akira, the Jigglypuff morph bowed slightly as she apologized, "I'm so sorry for listening to you without permission. But I-I . . . " She bit her lip before continuing. "It's just . . . every time I see either of you, I feel like you're in so much pain. But, I've never been brave enough to do anything about it." Melody dropped into a kneel as she raised her tearful, blue-green gaze imploringly. "It was wrong of me to listen to you in hiding--to be so much of a coward, I can't approach those I want to help. I won't blame you if you're angry, but is there anything I can do to prove I'm sorry?"

Raen stood on a high, grassy cliff, staring out over the restless sea. He had stood there often--and often he had contemplating throwing himself from the heights. However, on each occasion, unstatiated hate and fury had prevented him from doing such. Until his fiery anger was quenched, Raen would refuse to submit to death by any means . . . or by any being.

I blinked, and looked at her. "Tali... Robin..." I muttered, almost to myself. I tilted my head to one side as I looked at her. "You're my older sister, aren't you?" I didn't know how I knew what a sister was, but I did. She seemed nice, she was older, and she seemed worried about me, that fit in with what a sister was supposed to be, right?

Once again Akira found herself surprised. She had expected something like a school custodian or a spy or something, but not this. It could be a trap of course, a clever deception to catch them of their guard, but Akira doubted it. There was such genuine fear in the Jigglypuff morph's eyes and her jitterish manner that Akira seriously doubted that it was a ruse. In fact, she felt a bit sorry for her.

"Please get up." she said in a softer voice, helping the morph to her feet "I'm sorry I yelled like that, but I was afraid that you were someone sent to spy on us by the headmaster." Akira made an attempt at a friendly smile "But if you really want to prove that you're not, could you maybe tell a bit about yourself? Like your name?"

Allowing Akira to help her into a stand, the Jigglypuff morph brushed the unshed tears away from her eyes. "My name is Melody--Hitari knows. She's my roommate." Though the light in her eyes was still slightly fearful, Melody forced a slight smile as she glanced toward the Flareon morph. Then, returning her gaze to the Mightyena morph, Melody stammered, "Y-your name is Akira, right?"

Akira nodded "Yes, that's right." she replied, relieved to see that Melody eased up a bit "Now Melody." she said, maintaing a friendly voice "I'm not going to hurt you, but I can't let anyone else hear what you've just heard. You understand that, right? Can you promise me you won't tell?" Akira locked her blood-red eyes with Melody's, awaiting her reply. Few could maintain a poker-face under Akira's stare.

Gah, how do I reply to that? I thought to myself after she asked me if I was her big sister. Well, she DID need someone to look to at least until she can get around on her own. "Yeah, I'm your sister." I replied as I offered my hand to her. "Do you want to go get something to eat?"

I blinked, then smiled, leaping to my feet and hugging her tightly, before backing up, and looking up at her, I said "Sure!" My face a perfect copy of the typical happy expression always seen in anime as I waited. I was a bit hungry, and something told me that if I had to., I could get nutrients out of the soil, but why, when food tasted so much better?

"I did what I had to do Alex" The headmaster said calmly, Alex hadn't even said anything, ofcourse the headmaster must've read his mind "Excuse me but I have to do my daily rounds now, its almost midnight" He said has he walked out of the door. Alex thought for a second, everyone who had got into trouble was now someone else and most of them were turned in by him. A month ago when Alex arrived here he had learned about being bidded on then shipped off to work as a slave, but a week later when Alex was offered to prove himself and not be sent off to work as a slave by the headmaster himself, Alex ofcourse agreed and started working with the headmster. But now after he saw what happened to those poor people forgeting who they are, Alex decided that he was going to get out of here without proving himself to the head master! Alex walked over to a drawer and opened it, inside it had 3 files, the headmaster had kept these files by themselves and not with the other files because they were the most important ones (ofcourse nobody would steal them because they didn't want to get in trouble, nobody even kneew about them except the staff and alex). These files had info on three students, David, Alex and Robert, Alex took them and left the office, Alex bumped into Tali and Robin

"Great I found you two, look take these and read them in your dorm, then come find me and we can talk, ok?" Alex said as he shoved two of the files to them. Alex then ran back to his dorm as fast as he could.

OOC: outlaw, a few things:
1) We're still in our room
2) If I want our characters to find out, I'll do it.

I took Akira by the shoulder. "She won't say anything. She's my room mate after all," I said gently, smiling at Melody. "My playing attracted you too, didn't it?" I asked, not really questioning, just a statement. "Tends to, I'm going to have to watch myself..."

Akira ceased her stare as she felt Hitari's hand on her shoulder.
"I-suppose you're right." she said, turning her eyes away for a bit to let Melody recupate "Sorry about that." Akira said to the Jigglypuff morph "I'm just a little edgy with all the recent happenings. It's nothing personal."

Attempting not to tremble, Melody nodded. "Don't worry, Akira. Hitari's right." She smiled a soft, gentle smile. "I'm not the type of person to tell about that kind of thing." Glancing from Hitari to Akira, the Jigglypuff morph added, "I understand if you're just being cautious . . . All this commotion lately has made me a bit nervous . . . " Hitari's azure eyes settled on her roommate. "Just make the sure that the emotions you release with your flute music don't get bottled up inside."

I laughed rather bitterly. "All of my emotions get bottled up inside. No one has ever taken the time to get over the fact that I'm horribly disfigured, so I never really get to tell anyone."

I sighed and flopped backwards on the grass. "I hate it here," I growled to myself.

"Horribly disfigured?" Akira shook her head, her new friend was starting to sound all too similar to her again "My dear, I have the skin of a burned carcass and eyes so hideous that most can't even bear to look into them. Small children run from me in terror and I can't even show my face in the street without it being spat upon. The only thing that differentiates you from any normal person is a bit of fur and a tail. And believe me, there are a lot of people who'd be willing to look past that. Heck, some would even consider it a bonus." Akira dropped into a crouch "Listen to the voice of experience Hitari, you're not hideous. I am."

I smiled up at Akira, thankful. "How is it that you can make me feel better when I'm dead-set on being a downer?"

The question was rhetorical, so I didn't wait for a reply. Instead, my expression turned serious. "You aren't hideous either, Akira. Perhaps you are a bit rough on the outside, but it isn't what's on the first layer that people should care about. I know I don't."

For the first time in years, Akira's face broke down into a genuine, unforced, smile which briefly brightened her features, her eyes glowing with gratitude. This too had been one of her parents' lines, but they had never said it such an honest and serious manner that Hitari did. She spoke as if she really meant it, not as if she just wanted her to stop whining.

"Flattery will get you everywhere I suppose..." she replied "But it means a lot to hear that from you, it really does. You are the best friend I've ever had." Akira hesitated for a moment "If you don't mind me calling you one." she concluded.

I giggled for the first time in years and hugged Akira tightly. "I would love it if you'd call me a friend."

I looked to Melody from the embrace and smiled at her. "You as well, Melody. I get the feeling that the three of us will make a formidible team."

Akira nodded, giving Melody a friendly smile "I agree. And besides a friend of Hitari's is a friend of mine. Or has my revolting...excuse me, rough, exterior scared you of already?" at the last remark her voice was playful, but it returned to serious as she continued "You listened to my story but don't resent me either, Melody. The fact that you were eavesdropping is a matter of aesthetics. I'd be proud to call you a friend as well."
