Pokerelationship?!

I always thought your rival in RSE was sort of in love with you. I played Ruby as a boy once and May is kind of giggly towards me *gets out pepper spray*. Not to mention Team Galactic's comments about Dawn and Lucas (to be honest, I was kind of weirded out then - I almost wanted to back way slowly from Lucas then...!). Surely the shippers would all agree they are already in love *eye roll*. I know I'm not a little kid, I don't really want a life partner- imagine if got into a But Thou Must situation with it... I love you... will you go out with me! ^_^ ... What do you mean NO?!... I'm giving you ten seconds...Will you go out with me...? ... What do you mean NO?!... I'm giving you ten seconds...Will you go out with me...?

They could completely do that. xDD

Anyhow, it wouldn't work today, but if it would sell I wouldn't mind seeing what they could do with it. Maybe they could pull a Harvest Moon and have you choose from 5-10 different people depending on how much time you spend with them. Perhaps not all the way into marriage, but something close (try to keep your dirty thoughts to yourself, that's not what I meant.* :P). I'm not sure exactly how it could go but it would be an interesting mechanic, if nothing else.

*- Bonus 1 below to anyone who was about to post it...

Uhm, when saying you want to have a boyfriend in there you mean in the regular handheld games? I wouldn't like it :cer_no:. It would be just another annoying NPC. I didn't like Jun much either. Lucas was fine from time to time (for double battles), but other than that...just no. This is not a dating sim or something. I could imagine this to be an interesting idea for a Wii game or another alternative kind of game, some thing with a deeper plot.
Besides that, the game charas are not that interesting...bad ki and all. No interesting personality (Jun was annoying >> ). Instead of a boyfriend I would prefer a true rival, not such a hyperactive idiot (sorry to all Jun fans, but I don't like the thought of dealing with him again when Platinum comes out in europe, this time moving before battle >>)
I wouldn't mind the Protagonist to fall in love with the (hpefully mean but interesting) rival. That could be interesting and it would definitely improve the story. Or a part where you have to save him (or her, if you play the male protagonist).
But they better don't make it (the love-interest) too obvious for there are little kids who play the game, too (as pointed out by others already).

Yeah but I wouldn't want to have to date a girl if thats not what Im into.

In D/P/Pt, doesn't Dawn sort of have a crush on you? I mean, Game Freak/Pokemon Inc/Nintendo tries to make it as obvious as possible, in my point of view.

I honestly would think its a bit strange. xD Though having someone follow you would be kinda cool.. maybe switching people sometimes, being able to edit both parties?

Boyfriend / girlfriend in pokemon makes me think Harvest Moon... raising Milktank and Ponyta while trying to woo the Nurse Joy next door. xD

I wouldn't say love interests, but a companion at the minimum, or a group of friends where you can switch characters. Like a form of a party, maybe wifi as well. It'd be a lot better than the usual same dribble you get.

- Get a Starter Pokémon
- Learn about some wierd organisation
- Get badges
- Get Pokedex info..
- Beat the wierd organisation
- Challenge Elite 4.. etc etc.

All the same but differant region, still play 'em though :D

I think it's pointless to have that, the focus of the game is to catch them all not catch a mate
