Hey everyone. I'm trying to raise a pokemon right now that I think is incredibly under-rated- Porygon-Z. The thing has great Stats with a monsterous 135 Sp. Atk and a decent speed. How this pokemon isn't as common in the battling scene as Garchomp I don't know. Anyway, I need some help. I have come up with 3 move sets to back up P-Z can everyone help me find the right one?

    Recover
    Tri-Attack
    Ice Beam
Thunderbolt- Straight forward. Covers all pokemon for at least neutral damage and recover speaks for itself.

    Conversion 2
    Charge Beam
    Tri-Attack
Psychic- Conversion 2 is a fun move, Charge Beam has a high chance of raising sp.Atk and Psychic covers its fighting weakness and Tri attack has an STAB boost. The only problem is Steelix.

    Nasty Plot
    Tri-attack
    Ice Beam
thunderbolt- Straight forward. Same as the first one except instead of recover it has nasty plot to double an already insane speacial attack. The only problem is that P-Z doesn't have strong defences so in exchange for setting Nasty Plot up it may have to take 1 or 2 hits; something it may not be able to handle.

Underrated? Porygon-Z is one of the most OU Pokemon in the current metagame. I have one myself.

As for the sets, the first two suck. Recover is useless on Pory's below-average defenses, and Conversion2 is just a waste of time (unless it's Porygon2, in which case, I wouldn't know). The third set is the standard, although I prefer the Scarfed version:

    Porygon-Z@ Choice Scarf
    Adaptability
    Modest
    252 Spd/ 252 SAtk/ 6 HP
    -Tri-Attack
    -Thunderbolt
    -Ice Beam
    -Dark Pulse

    He makes an excellent lead.

Also, this belongs in Strategies and Movesets.

Porygon-Z has the best Sp.Attack of any non-legendaries, and in my opinion is an excellent addition to any team.

    Here's my Porygon-Z set-up

Lock-on -for those extremely annoying people who constantly use double team.
Tri attack -Pretty much Porygon's fave move
Hyper Beam -A great move because of Porygon's skill Adaptability
Thunder -Some people prefer Zap cannon but it's accuracy makes the skill kind of unreliable, Thunder has the same attack power but a better accuracy which can be made even better if you make Porygon hold a wide lens

Since this isn't Strategies and Movesets, I won't go into detail why that's a bad set... so I'll just say to stick with Nasty Plot-Z or Scarf-Z.

Moving along to Strategies and Movesets...please read the forum descriptions carefully before you post.

Also, county1883, your post was spam - report next time rather than posting if you see something wrong.

Are you kidding? Porygon-Z underrated? Hahahaha... he's one of the most effective Special Sweepers in the game. airconditioning already posted the Scarf set. Here's the other sets:

    Porygon-Z @ Focus Sash
    Nature: Modest/Timid
    EV Spread: 252 SPD / 252 SPATK / 4 HP
    Ability: Adapability / Download

    Tri-Attack
    Thunderbolt
    Ice Beam
    Agility / Nasty Plot

Agility with Modest, Nasty Plot with Timid. Focus Sash allows for usage of boost without an OHKO. I prefer the Agility set. Watch out for Extremespeeders, Sandstorm, and Hail.

Ewwwww. You don't use Hyper Beam because, well......it sucks, AND you already have Tri Attack. Right, Thunder has "good" accuracy (*cough*70isterrible*cough*). Use Thunderbolt....please. And Double Team is banned anyway, so there is no need to Lock-On. And BTW, Alakazam's Sp. Atk ties with Porygon-Z, plus it has greater Speed.

I think you may have it backwards.

    Thunderbolt>Thunder, always.

what the flip i had it like Thunder<thunder bolt hmmmmm must have been a mistake I mean that ov corse I hate thunder unless its rainign ;)

choice scarf :/ and pory Z doesn't get OHKOed by splash either, a plus over Zam. and last I checked people used focus blast, that comment about thunder isn't necessarily true. though Tbolt is better of course.

Well, I mean, people don't use Thunder unless they can't use Thunderbolt. And anyone who can lean Thunder CAN learn Thunderbolt. ONLY run Thunder with Rain Dance, and even in that case, you risk getting run over by fast, powerful Water Types.

Um, your logic is flawed tremendously. First, thunderdance fails. Every time. Second, thunder is useful in more situation than just in the rain. And lol, who sets the rain up if there are "fast and powerful" water types lurking about? Saying thunder is useless is very narrow-minded.

Fine, it's not useless, but on Porygon-Z.......Thunderbolt>Thunder.

    You scare me :D

Hyperbeam = No, its 75 base power each turn(which is bad) and Tri Attack is your normal type move

Lock-On = Yea, but lets not forget Lock-On is a move that can miss to. And plus, nobody uses double team cuz its hax.

Thunder = Still horrible accuracy. Thunderbolt is a much better choice.

    Porygon-Z@ Choice Scarf

    - Dark Pulse
    - Thunderbolt
    - Icebeam
    - Tri Attack
