I know there is a specific forum for GS/AR questions, but I believe this to be just plain Glitch related possibly.
So far, PokemonElite2000 hasn't been 100% helpful, neither has Gamefaqs nor nintnendo, but that hasn't suprised me. I'd try Serebii, but their forums are down sadly.
So, here goes...
I recently purchased a used copy of Pokemon Ruby to help "catch em all" for my Pokedex. The game itself has the national dex, as well as some high ranking pokemon on it. THe previous player left his Rayquaza and Lati@s on the game to catch.
After I filled the trainer's eyes database, I traded between the games a few pokemon and TM's.
One of which was a Lvl 30 Hardy Kecleon nicknamed Sethleon (the original trainer's name was Seth)
Then, with my lvl 49 Wobbuffet, proceded to hunt the Lati@s.
When I found the pokemon, they did very little against my Wobuffet, but I sadly couldn't capture it with the Ultra balls I had on me. When the Lati@s finally KOed itself with struggle, the oddest thing happened.
I gained the experience points expected, but the battle wasn't over. The game then said:
Pkmn Trainer sent out Sethleon!
And out came the exact pokemon, nickname, stats, moves and all that I had previously traded. I caught it with the masterball I had on me to be sure it was what I had traded.
To see if this was a glitch or not, I tested it again with trading back the Sethleon and the Wobuffet, and then trading the Wobuffet for Blaziken currently on the ruby game.
Once again, the same thing happened and I tested the following scenario:
This issue is repeatable, and a more interesting note:
If I kill the latios outright, the match is over. Nothing more.
The next time I repeated it, I found that the trainer had 5 pokemon on him, plus Latios. Upon further inspection, it appears that the first pokmeon in my party was replaced with Latios, while the rest of the party are exact duplicates down to the IV's and EV's.
If let the Latios Struggle, and kill the other party members he throws out, then the battle continues but I just OHKO the pokemon, or have shadowtag/arena trap out otherwise the pokemon flee just like Latios.
Does any one have two gameboys that they can test this with as well on their game as I want to be sure this is an AR hack (as I have scoured the game for any other oddity, in either trainer ID or pokedex entry and have found none.)
My great concern now, with some trades and items being exchanged on this game, is that if it was ARed or not, and if it was, can that corrupt the game data on a receiving game pack?
Thank you for your time,
