If you want to use older Pokemon you're going to have to get someone to trade them to you.
Yeah, I'm not fond of them either, but if you just hang in there I'm sure you'll be able to find some you like.

Yeah you can :3 Through trading or migration (or Dream World). Migration is a little more complicated, so you can read about it here, as well as read about the Dream World too. PLUS you can also find Pokemon post-game! As for trading, well, trade like you've done any generation, except you can only trade between generation five games - so the other person would've had to have used the PokeTransfer already.
