You know how when we post something, someone post the same thing 1 second ago (ninja'd)? We could add something that when a user post, if someone post before them a few seconds ago, a pop up will say that someone just posted and will cancel the post so you can check what the other person said and edit your post.

It'd probably be more annoying that useful. Most of the time, outside of threads like this and simple question threads, consecutive posts will have different content.

If you're worried about someone posting at the exact same time as you (which doesn't happen too terribly often, to be honest), you could preview your post before submitting it and scroll down to see if anyone has replied while you were typing your own reply.

I remember this being suggested before and shot down for some reason even though I still agree with you. It happens in trivia, CQF, and simple question threads, where people get ninja'd and need to either edit their post or get rid of it altogether. The only place where I feel it would get really obnoxious would be the DCC, where there are a lot of posts often so you're likely to get ninja'd a lot in it.

I always do this, and I've honestly been ninja'd maybe 3 or 4 times since I joined the site. I see it happen to other people all the time though, especially in the trivia sections, which I never post in, so that might be why it almost never happens for me.

I agree with Toujours but on the other hand it also doesn't really matter that much when you post ~about~ the same thing as someone else in the DCC for example, I don't think I'd be expected to go through the trouble of editting it and I wouldn't expect other people to either (but that is in places like DCC's, where posts don't really matter as much as in other places like here). Idk it could work but it might be more trouble than worth in the end.

The option seems reasonable, but it all ties in together whether you're lazy or not to edit or delete your post. I've been ninja'd from time to time, but I was never really bothered that I needed an option or feature that stopped me because I didn't mind editing/deleting.

I meant that the DCC is the only place where it would get seriously annoying because people post there really often and it doesn't matter what the other person said so you just get slowed down in posting for nothing haha.
