I know that there is a thread for a third game/sequels discussion, however, I think that there is a high chance that we will get prequels instead. Why? All of the things that are unexplained and could be explained further. I know that they could be explained further in sequels as well, but everything just came at us, without any real explanation as to why it happened. Although this could just be bad story development, it could actually be for a reason. Maybe they want to expand on the events leading up to this further?

My second reason for prequels, are the little pieces of text in the game that point back to before you went on your journey. One of the biggest ones of these that I found was the piece of text that talked about the two Skiddo who are waiting for their trainer, who abandoned them. Throughout the game, we never find out who that was. Again, it could be explained in sequels, but prequels, in my opinion seem to be the better and more creative way to go.

As well as this, we also get the little easter egg of the ghost girl. A lot of things in this really are not explained and as a result are much more uneasy and disturbing than other ghosts in the past such as the ghost on the bridge. Why I think that this could show evidence for prequels is that, in my opinion, this hidden secret could be developed much greater in prequels. For example, behind a sign in the train station in Lumoise city, there is writing saying(I believe) "Meet at the usual meeting place." We never find out who wrote this. Again, we never find out exactly where the ghost on the bridge came from, in B/W, but it turns out that it was from an actual town. The difference between the two ghosts is that the B/W ghost can be put at two different locations, this ghost just disapears, and is mentioned throughout the city. The ghost in B/W never really had a set location.

I made this thread, just to start a discussion about why I believe this to be the case. I'm sorry if this dosen't deserve its own thread. If so, could a Moderator please move this into the appropriate thread. Thank you :)

I also think presequels can fit very well. Mabye we will see lysandre when he was younger, and see what made him so mad. Also mabye we will get to see our dad and will know what happand to him(In X and Y our dad does mentioned, but we don't why he is not home).

I, as well, think that Lysandre could be developed on. Maybe we could play as him? This is kind of wishful thinking as making a game based around why he wanted to destroy everything could lead to some dark issues.... I mean, sure, he has his reasoning for why he wanted to destroy everything, as he thought that we were going to eventually kill ourselves and Pokemon. However, that's all there is to it. Not only that but he kind of contradicts himself. He is going to kill all Pokemon and humans, so that we can't harm Pokemon, or us anymore? Plus, sequels couldn't really revolve around Team Flare as their leader has been most likely killed. If they are going to keep Lysandre in the story, I think that prequels may be the most logical step.

Prequel would make sense, but I think it could be in the Region that guy who gives you that wierd item is from. idk Iif they could actually explaim the stuff that happend in Kalos with a diffrent region tho

Prequels would be a slippery slope. For one if they do it for this generation they would want it for Gen 5 and how N came to be and even more previous Gens. Which wouldnt make sense for Pokemon Co to do that. Adding that to sequels are more likely to happen but I dont this being beneficially other than financially. Also if they took time out to make prequels they would have to stall newer gens of which I dont think many trainers would like to happen.

I don't think that if they made prequels for this gen, that they would have to make one for every pair of games. When the sequels for B/W came out, they didn't go back to old gens to make sequels to. With N, while his back story is definitely not explained a lot, it is explained enough to provide enough for the player. From what I gathered is that he lived in the forest with Pokemon(Maybe he was abandoned by his real parents?) Ghetsis then found him and decided to make him king of Team Plasma, presumably because he felt that he could easily manipulate him, which he did, N had no idea of Ghetsis's true intentions. I guess what I'm saying is that unlike X/Y Past events are explained just enough to not be needed. Prequels for X/Y are not technically needed either, but I feel that if they decided to go down this route, for these games, then the ending product could be pretty great.
