Program like Fraps?

I am using a program called Fraps to record video's wile I'm in game, but Fraps is a little laggy dose anyone know a program better in the recoding with out causing lag?

Well, I can't say if it'll cause lag, that depends on the game and the computer. Camstudio is a screen capture program. It's not that great for games.


You want XFire. It can record video, take screenshots, and do in-game chat with AIM buddies. But to the point, XFire's video recording is AMAZING, probably the best you'll get.

Remember to close any applications in the background, such as AIM, Torrent programs like Mu Torrent, GTalk, Anti-Virus, ETC.

Try VirtualDub. It's a freeware recording program. But beware, it's so complicated that I can't use it.

I've seen other people use VirtualDub though, and it looks good.

try www.wegame.com for recording your PC games.. It's a great client and even better website to showcase your vids, screens and so forth.


P.S. PC has an bbcode tag to embed their videos.. works similar to the youtube bbcode.

Some game come with a Fraps like program. For example World in Conflict has a built in movie maker the allows the user to make movies from multiplayer game saves. However it could be that your computer cannot rune both the game and Fraps simultaneously.

Its normal for fraps to be laggy. Fraps and Camstudio for that matter can't really be fast enough without turning your computer a bit slower, that's why they go low on the FPS to be fast enough.
