Coran leant closer. "Sorry... I was being a bit insensitive, I guess." she stroked Teioh's ears, without really realising it. Without Rave, she seemed sort of lost with what to do with her hands. "That must of been horrible... How did your mother take it?" she realised she was being really nosy, but she coulnd't help it. Teioh had travelled the same road she had; prosecuted and prejudiced because of their family.

She turned to face Mara. She had been, very rudely, ignoring the girl for the past hour. She wanted to say something kind, but no words came. she smiled instead.

ooc| Why thank you! Also...I'm really sorry about the typos, my 'n' key gets stuck a lot... xP

OOC: Oh, you're welcome for the congratulations and I'm glad that reading our posts wasn't an entirely insufferable experience. XD Oh, and I think Seth's plan was that they'd go to his hometown, Separt Village, and lie low for a while.

IC:

"No, that's alright." Teioh replied, absent-mindedly enjoying the stroking without bothering to think about the implications that it might have been thought to have considering that he was really a human "I had to tell someone eventually, and I couldn't think of anyone I would rather entrust it with." this statement was aimed at all of his friends, even though it seemed to be ever so slightly focused on Coran, it was arguable wether this was a conscious choice or not however. "After all, I've never had any real friends before."

Limpy looked up at Squirt's question, taking a thoughtful pause. {Probably.} he replied {Although I'm sure mister Friendship here would be more than happy to deal with him for you.}

She smiled. "When I was young... I had friends coming out of my ears." She paused for a moment, to rub her eyes. "When I refused to become a Rocket... I lost them all." Her voice cracked, and she gulped. "It was painfull... but I couldn't stand joining that horrible team... They... did terrible things to Rave... to prepare him, you know? I couldn't stand by and watch him turn into a murderous monster."

She smiled, at Mara, then Seth, then Limpy and Squirt (who she hadn't even spoken to yet), and finally at Teioh. "I've honestly never felt so...right... in my entire life." They were a strange assortment, that was for certain, but they had accepted her.

OOC: Oh. XD I remember now. And we have to walk to get there from wherever we are, right? Ugh... where are you Deadly Aim...? -_-

Mara & Squirt
----------------

Squirt looked over to Teioh, "Yeah, I guess he would. And the others too. You're right Limpy."

She listened again to Coran speaking. "I didn't have any friends or anything when Mara and Growlithe found me. I was lucky that they were so willing to become friends with me," she said to Coran, feeling much more comfortable around her now that she had listened to her so much, "Poor Rave, I like him. He looks like a nice pokemon. To have to go through such things...." She said this last part quite truthfully. Even though she hadn't talked to the pokemon yet, she considered herself a good judge of character, and Rave seemed like a very loyal and good pokemon deep inside.

"Hey Mara!" Squirt said suddenly, "Don't you have those poke-treats still?"

Mara blinked, it was still very strange thinking of Squirt as a human, "Yes."

"Ooh!" she grabbed at Mara's pack, opening it up to find the boxed treats and bringing them out. She took a couple of the biscuits and then passed it to Teioh.

"Here, they're really good, I think we may have had some in the train too," she said to the Espeon. Then she gave a biscuit to Limpy, and ate one herself.

Mara smiled a bit. Squirt may look like a human, but she certainly didn't act like one yet. Humans would never eat a pokemon treat; they tasted awful.

However, Squirt looked as if she were thoroughly enjoying her biscuit, and chomped away on it happily.

"Coran, I'm sorry your life was so sad. I know that mine probably was too even though I don't remember it. And... I hope you stay with us, because you need to start living a good, happy life; not the one you've always been used to," Squirt said through her biscuit-eating.

"I hope you will do so as well." Teioh added, chewing away at his biscuit while keeping it afloat in mid-air with his psychic powers. "Things always look brighter when you have friends with you. I learned this the moment I met Mara and Seth." he beamed at the two "And besides." he added "I promised to make sure that you would never have to act like a criminal again and that's going to be a hard promise to keep if you go off on your own. You wouldn't want me to become a liar, would you?" he asked in a playful voice.

{You know...} Limpy commented, causing a few crumbs of the biscuit he was chewing to fly out of his mouth {I'm almost getting emotional here...} he sounded like he was honestly touched {It's like having friends.}

Coran cocked her head, looking strangely like her houndoom as she did so. "You can't remember your life, Squirt?" she asked, "Is that because you got turned into a... no, it couldn't be, because Teioh remembers his... Do you know why?" she found herself liking Squirt - it was probably something to do with the honest, down-to-earth way that she spoke.

She stared at her feet. "Rave... Rave's a lovely pokemon. Stands by me no matter what. But...he was trained to work for the rockets, and even now... four years later... he still can't shake it off. Jumps at small noises...growls at strangers and intruders... rips the leg off any one that tries to hurt me..." a smile played on her lips; she loved that dog more than she could say, that much was apparent.

At Teioh's words, her smile split into a sincere grin. She slipped back onto the saggy bed and lay back, staring at the mattress above her. There was a suspicious looking stain on it... Coran ignored it, and went back to watching her friends. "Isn't it funny?" she laughed suddenly, "we've all been alone throughout our lives..all been hurt...and it took a disaster like this to bring us together..."

"I know." Teioh replied, smiling as best he could, although his Espeon form limited him to doing so only in a very serene and peacefull kind of way. His eyes however, conveyed his true happiness, as did the aura around him. "It's stange how the world works, isn't it? I mean, I was aiming to become a trainer. You know, travel the world, battle other trainers, catch pok?mon and instead people try to catch me and I end up being the one who does the actual fighting. Not that I mind." he added to make sure that his statement wasn't misinterpreted "I actually kind of enjoyed it. And if it weren't for this we would, as Coran said, never have met." he smiled at the group "I guess life is finally paying back old dues."

Coran nodded. "So...you're not a trainer?" she asked. Teioh sounded older than her, and she had automatically assumed he was an old hand at the pokemon biz.

She stared at the cieling again. For a moment, she was silent, lost in thought. Her eyes half-closed, and she pursed her lips. Most likely, she was recalling something from the past. She opened her mouth, as if to say something, and as if on cue, her stomach rumbled. "Gaawd, I'm hungry." she muttered, and sat up. "We've been up all right, after all." she looked to the others, hoping one of them would suggest getting some grub.

"Nah, just a wannabe." Teioh replied, "I know a good deal about them though, teaching me about pok?mon was one of the few things that dad could do without getting into an argument with me."

At Coran's remark, Teioh realized just how long he - no, they all - had gone without food. With all the other things occupying his mind he hadn't really given it much thought, but the pok?treat had served quite well to reawaken his appetite.

"Well, maybe we should go get something to eat?"
Teioh suggested, looking for the others' opinions.

"I could go with that..." Biggs concured, finally joining into the conversation.

{Me too.} Limpy commented, {All that fighting and being tossed about by whimsical Murkrows and whatnot really takes a lot out of ya'.}

"I think we all could use something to eat." Seth concluded, rising up to his feet, the hash browns he had had for breakfast an all too distant memory "The only question is where."

"I think I saw an advert for a noodle buffet in the pokecenter... all you can eat for ?700. Pretty good, considoring this is quite an up-market area..." Coran seemed to be talking to herself for the last bit. She was obviously looking forward to their trip to 'Number One Noodle Son', because she was already getting out her purse and rumaging through the notes.

She turned back to Teioh, smiling. "My Dad taught me about pokemon, too. He was a good battler, and a good person, I think... just turned over the wrong leaf."
beep, beep beeeeep! Coran froze, as her mobile phone began to ring, drilling out what sounded like a song by the mellow-rcok band, the Super Potions. "Whups!" she exclaimed, and hid it up her sleeve before anyone could see the caller ID, "Gotta take this!" and she vanished into the bathroom, locking the door.

A few minutes later, she returned, frowning.

OOC: 'The Super Potions'? XD Kind of reminds me of the Alphimega football team 'Shootsies'.

IC:

{All you can eat, eh?} Biggs echoed, grinning widely and patting his stomach {Promises, promises...}

{Try to let us finish before you go and get us all banned from there, will you?} Limpy asked sarcastically.

"Well, sounds good to me." Seth commented. The whole group was prepared to leave as Coran suddenly got her unexpected phone call and dissapeared into the bathroom.

"Coran?" Teioh asked, watching the girl worriedly as she returned. "Is something wrong?"

{They've been going in my roleplays for nearly two years. Their chart-topping song, 'Super just don't cut it', was number 1 for ten weeks. xDD}

Coran sniffed irritably. "Nothing's wrong. But I had forgotton about delivering my package. He'll be docking my pay... I'll have to take a detour on the way...nothing major. Then, I drop it off, and the money goes into my account. No biggie."

She glanced at everyone. "So you're all up for noodles?" she slung her bag over her shoulder. "I haven't eaten for ages... This can be my just reward." she laughed, but hollowly.

OOC: Respect. ^^ The shootsies have only been around for the length of one RP post although they seemed to be doing good. Ya' know, givin' it 120% like, ya' know, all plus more, like, yeah, you know, like really givin' it that 120%, like. Gawd, am I the only one who thinks sport coaches sound really stupid when they go on like that? Because I have heard stuff like that in real life.

IC:

"I see..." Teioh replied, although he wasn't quite sure that he would really like this particular delivery to reach its destination. "And yes, noodles are fine with me.". This was completely true, Teioh had always had a liking for noodles for some reason and his tail wagged a bit at the thought. "And it seems like all you can eat is more than fine with everyone concerned." he added, Limpy and Biggs concuring enthusiastically.

Despite that good things seemed to be coming, Teioh couldn't help but feel worried about Coran. Her claims of it being 'No biggie' did little to change the hollowness in her laugh and Teioh wondered if this wasn't the same kind of situation as he had had when the school curator asked him if there was something he would like to get of his chest and he answered 'no'.

{ooc| My football coach always tells us to stop acting like men when we start whinging. She's great, she took us to Rome on a school trip.}

I see...
In those two words, Teioh said everything he could to Coran. She guessed he wasn't fond of the idea, but what could see do? This way, she'd bee earning her - and her friends ?15000, there was nothing to feel guilty about. For some reason, she did.
She looked to Teioh. "I shouldn't, should I? I should just pass on the cash, and keep on the right side of the law. But..." she paused, and stared wistfully out of the window. A few children were playing with their pikachu, and Coran wished her life could be as simple as theirs. The little boy was rolling around on the floor, pretend-wrestling, while his little sister clapped and cheered. Right now, Coran seemed to be entangled with so many others; her new friends, her old friends, her parents, and all the people that paid her to dot heir dirty work. Her mouth twitched.

"Rave'll be glad to be out and about again," she laughed, "he always seems to think someone'll jump on me if he looks in the opposite direction."

OOC: Well, looks like you got yourself a good coach then. ^^ I'm sorry if it sounded like I thought all coaches were like that, (because I know that's not the case) but there are those that are.

IC:

Teioh listened to the girl's reply in silence for a while. "There might be a lot of money in it." he replied after a pause "But could you honestly stand the thought that because of that package someone might end up abducted from their family and sold of to the highest bidder like some kind of object?" he glanced out of the window as well "It's your choice." he concluded after another pause "And I won't hold it against you. But remember that you're the one who will have to live with the consequences..."

The boy-Espeon stared out of the window, the look in his eyes becoming distant again as if he was trying to spot something out there that was located in a distant place, or time...

Charon nodded. "When you put it like that...Maybe...I should keep them."
There was something about Teioh, something in his voice, or his eyes, that made her repent. He was a mesmorizing sight, really. A lithe, lilac beast, that was how she saw him. What was he like as a human? Slender? Musculae? She longed to ask him, but she knew that would have to wait.

She walked out of the room, humming another song (this one was by the totodile dolls) under her breath. Nurse Joy looked up from her work, eyebrows raised, as if to say 'leaving so soon?' but Coran ignored her. She stood, hands on her hips, waiting for the others. Now, Coran noticed, the pokemaniacs weren't bothering her. They were sitting at their table, looking her up and down, and she was beginning to feel irritable. So this is what it's like to be a contest pokemon.... she thought darkly.

OOC: O Em Gee, you wrote Charon just now. XD Maybe you're getting a bit too much into your character, eh? ^^

IC:

Teioh smiled warmly at the reply, returning properly to the present again and voicing his opinion through his eyes rather than words. He had almost known that Coran would see his way of things. She was a good person really, she just needed a nudge in the right direction every now and then, a friend to help her get back on the right track...a close friend...The boy-Espeon suddenly shook his head sternly as his thoughts began wandering a bit too far, although luckily the others had already left the room and didn't notice. Get your instincts under control boy... he reprimanded himself sternly You've only known her for a day.

Teioh dashed out of the room at a decent pace, soon catching up with the others. The pok?maniacs, he noted, seemed to be taking a quite different approach to Coran's presence now that she had taken a change of clothes. The boy-Espeon quickly threw them a dirty glare, resisting the urge to cause bodily harm to them, and then returned his expression to normal and joined up with the others.

"Sorry about the delay." he sent out to the others "I was lost in thought for a moment there. Let's go."

ooc| *kicks self* I'm silly like that. I think of two things at once, and then write it instead of the proper word.

Coran gave him a smug smile. "I could see that," she replied in a low voice, while unclipping Rave's ball from her belt, "you think a lot. You're a very deep, phisological person." she continued, half-jokingly. "Thinking about anythig inpaticular?" she asked him expecting a 'no' in return. It was probably something deeply personal, but Coran was a very nosy young lady.
She shot a glance behind her, checking the others were still coming. She giggled despite herself, at Biggs' eager but lumbering pace. "Being a Slowbro looks tough." she commented.

Once they were by the door, Coran let Rave back out again. He seemed to relish in the freedom, romping around the centre's foyer while everyone else watched him suspiciously. He finished off his lap by snapping at the pokemaniacs, whose eyes he had seen following Coran and the others.
"We're getting food," she told him, and Rave barked happily.
{Yes please! Beef for me!} he called, a little louder than usual.

"Erm, not really." Teioh replied, painfully aware of how transparent his lie was, but it wasn't like he could go and give an honest reply to a question like that now, was it? It fell right down with old goodies like 'Does anyone have any questions?' and 'Does this make me look fat?', it was the kind of question to which there really was only one single dishonest answer, regardless of the conditions; no. No, he wasn't thinking about anything in particular, and no, he certainly wasn't thinking of Coran in particular. The boy-Espeon turned to watch Biggs, obviously relieved by a change of subject "It builds character I guess." he commented, smiling a bit at the Slowbro's tedious advance. Limpy had taken up travelling with Squirt instead and was already telling Biggs to hurry up. "He does seem to be getting better at it, though."

OOC: Ever noticed how some coaches have two very different personalities? One for home, and one for work. ^^ School teachers that are also coaches sometimes have three personalities, one for teaching, one for coaching, and one for home. However, there are those that seem to lose the two and just keep the coach personality and apply it to the rest of their life. -_- Like an English teacher I had. He was scary... ;_;

Mara & Squirt
----------------

Squirt suddenly found herself giggling. Giggling at the more than obvious lie of Teioh's. Girls had a sense of these things, things having to do with... well, what it was Teioh had been lying about.

Coran probably suspected it too, though she was too close to the situation to realize it. Squirt cleared her throat.

"I know what you were thinking Teioh, and all I have to say is this: slow down. You probably won't get too far as you are right-- right now!" Squirt chuckled out, feebly attempting to control herself.

Growlithe peered at her out of the corner of his eye. He paced a bit after eating his meal that Mara had given him, and was a bit unsure of what to do or how to act.

Mara leaned over to him. "Hey," she whispered, "Why don't you just apologize already? She's still the same old Squirtle inside."

Growlithe shook his head. {She is not the same. She has a past now... even if she can't remember it. What if... what if she likes being a human? She will want to stay that way forever and why shouldn't she? She has nothing as a pokemon....}

"Come on Growlithe, I don't understand why you're acting this way. You get over there right now and talk to her!" Mara said forcefully, a little louder.

Growlithe bowed his head. She was right... he didn't even understand why he was acting this way... not to mention, he could never disobey an order from Mara. He lumbered up to Squirt, who was still giggling over Teioh's thoughts.

He kept his head down. {Squirt...,} he mumbled.

"Haa-- yes?" Squirt said, noticing him.

{I'm sorry I have been acting like such a... a...,}

"A jerk," Squirt helped him.

{Y-yes, I suppose so. Anyway; friends again?} he said, still looking towards the ground.

Squirt kept silent for a second, then nodded, "Of course Growlithe. I'd love to be friends again. It felt horrible not being able to talk to you." Growlithe looked up, feeling particularly happy about her sad comment. He was never really aware of how much she cared.

Mara smiled. "Aww, that's so cute. Oh! Coran, we should tell you that we're going to...," Mara leaned in closer and dropped her voice, "We're making our way to Seth's hometown, Separt Village. We have to get there on foot, and so if you decide to split off for a while, which I hope you don't because I know we'd all be worried about you, then you'll have to look for us on the trail somewhere between here and there."
