As had happened to him after the last dream of this kind, Teioh awoke with a start, tumbling off the window sill and just barely managing to make a gracefull fall. Well, relatively gracefull...he still had to take a few steps to steady himself, but was soon standing firmly on all four of his feet, moderately refreshed but still disturbed. "Morning..." he replied to Coran, noticing before long that the girl didn't seem to have been having a particularly pleasant night either. In fact, she looked just as fatigued as before and this was worrying, especially considering what a stark contrast it made with the way she had gone to sleep.

Limpy stirred at the noise as well, rising up from his sleep and rubbing his eyes sleepily. He took a quick glance at the person responsible for the noise. {You look blasted.} he commented bluntly, before scampering of to the bathroom where Biggs was still sound asleep, the faint rumbling of his snores audible through the door.

"Morning already..." Teioh mumbled in his mind to no-one in particular, stretching his stiff joints in what little space he had. "Doesn't feel like I got any sleep at all, and it seems like I'm not the only one." he added, glancing at Coran "Bad dreams?"

She nodded, incredibly slowly. "Yeah... I dreamt..." she glanced to Mara and Seth, as if to check they were still alive, "well, it doesn't matter what I dreamt. I guess I'm just getting worried about us all."
She attempted a smile. "You look off aswell... I slept badly too?" she asked, as he leapt haphazardly to the ground.

She slid off the bed and walked into the bathroom, where she washed her face under the cold tap and dragged a comb through her hair. She returned, looking slightly better, but there were still dark circles under her eyes. "God, Teioh," she muttered, "I'm scared. I keep thinking... what if the LG corp turned nasty?" she dropped her eyes. What would I do without you?

She sat back down, and began rumaging around for her other shoe.

"Yeah, kind of..." Teioh replied, not really sure of what he could classify his dream as. He picked up on the girl's reluctance to share the details of her dream. After all, he knew that he didn't want to share the details about his. Admittedly it seemed a bit fuzzy now, but still.

The boy-Espeon's mind wandered around various trivial thoughts while Coran went to visit the bathroom. When Coran returned, Teioh was pleased to note that she looked a bit more composed and a bit closer to her normal self, although the dark circles under her eyes were still worrying, as was the question she posed. Once again, Teioh was feeling awfully guilty about having involved Coran in all of this. "Well, performing strikes in the middle of a restaurant does seem rather bad." the boy-Espeon replied after a pause, contemplating the question as he answered "But should things get really ugly, well...that all depends on in which way it happens, doesn't it? But regardless of what comes I'll be there to help you, I promise. Us against the world, remember?"

She smiled apologetically. "Yeah. Us against the world." She sat down on the floor beside him, pulling her legs up to her chest and leaning back on the wall. "I admit, I worry too much. I guess it comes from being out on your own. Everyone says, they want to leave home to get more freedom. All I got was responsibility, responsibility, responsibility." Then she smiled sweetly, as if deciding that was enough ranting for the present, and looked to Mara and Seth's sleeping forms. "Should we leave them to sleep?" she asked, cocking her head to one side, giving him her usual questioning look.

She paused for a moment, biting her lip. "Teioh!" she blurted, "I...dreamt you guys...were all dead. Just, lying dead, suspended in the air. When I got close to them... they vanished. Everyone... and... I screamed and screamed, but I couldn't wake up." She gave a shiver, and began to stroke the espeon again, carressing his ears without thinking. "Promise me, Teioh. Promise me you'll be carefull... I couldn't stand loosing you guys." She looked at him, suddenly realising where her hand was. She snatched it away, and cupped it to her chest. At least she had got it off her mind...

ooc| I make so many darned typos... I gotta go in half an hour, by the way!

"Yeah, let's let them lie." Teioh replied at Coran's first question, casting a glance at their sleeping friends. "It's not like we can get moving this early anyway." he added, noting that the sunlight shining in from the window wasn't really at full brightenss yet, it was morning, yes, but not that far into the day.

As Coran suddenly blurted out the contents of her dream to him, the boy-Espeon was caught of guard for a moment, unable to form a proper response. His sentence-forming wasn't exactly improved by the fact that the girl took up stroking him again, much in the absence of Rave no doubt, which began awakening the kind of thoughts that really didn't seem appropriate for this moment. For a moment, Teioh hoped that this would pass like last time, without Coran noticing what she had done. He had no such luck however, as the girl suddenly snatched her hand back, leaving the boy-Espeon in a very awkward position. What was he going to do? Answer her question and pretend that he hadn't noticed? And then there were those thoughts...oh, how he wished that they weren't there at the moment. And finally, there was a taunting voice from the back of his mind, a voice that sounded just like his own. You want her so bad it's almost pathetic...

For the moment, Teioh was completely dumbstruck, seemingly incapable of grasping any kind of words that would fit, leaving an awkward silence in the room which was only punctuated by Biggs' steady snoring.

OOC: Yay! That means I can make at least one good contributing post before you leave! XD

Mara & Squirt
------------------

Mara woke up shortly after Coran's outburst, and prodded Seth awake. "Hey people are up," she said to him, indicating Coran and Teioh.

"Whaa...?" Seth mumbled, looking as if he had woken up from deep sleep, he stared in the opposite direction of where Mara had been indicating, "I dun see aneeting."

Mara chuckled, "Not a morning person, are you?"

"I pffttrrgle...," he mumbled, stuffing his head back into his pillow. A few more minutes might do him some good, Mara guessed.

She went over to Coran and Teioh. "Oh Coran, don't worry, it was just a dream. I'll admit, I'm scared and I think of all the awful things that could happen too, but you just can't think of it all the time. If you did, you would be too scared to move," she said to her, shrugging. She had been asleep but only halfway because of Teioh's loud noise ealier, and so she had heard some of their discussion.

Growlithe sniffed at the air for a moment, he wasn't used to sleeping on human beds, and was a bit disoriented. He looked over to Limpy and Squirt.

Squirt had woken up when Teioh had fallen, but she was enjoying being relaxed in a soft bed. However, now that Mara was awake, she felt obligated to get up.

"Oh Growlithe... what if Coran's dream was right... what if we all end up... you know," Squirt said nervously. Growlithe shook his head.

{They would have to get past me first,} he said bravely. Squirt looked a bit skeptical that a little puppy pokemon could save her, but she tried her best to hold her tongue.

"And don't forget Limpy!" she said, grabbing up the old Ratatta without his permission again, "He'll help out too! Won't you Limpy?" Growlithe raised an eyebrow at him.

EDIT: EEK! I screwed up my color tags... >_<

Coran blushed and stood up. "God, I'm pathetic. I'm away from Rave for an evening and I start stroking my friend because of it." She walked away very quickly, and conjured up her shoe from beneath a pile of clothes. "Maybeweshouldgoandgetsomethingtoeat...." Coran gabbled, extremely quickly. She was embaressed by her lack of restraint, and now she felt paticularily dirty. Why did she do stupid things like this? But no matter how hard she looked at Teioh, she couldn't see him as anything but an espeon. It was only when she heard his voice, that she remembered he was a boy. A teenaged boy. One that probably thought she was some sort of disgusting, shameless rocket slag. Or that she was one of those 'easy' girls that... no, she scolded herself, stop thinking like that!

She smiled at Mara. "I try not to worry...but it's in my nature, you know? Mara...you're like the older sister I never had. You're always so calm..." she averted her eyes again.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see your post...

OOC: Tis' okay. That's very easy to do in an RP. ^-^

Woah! Clow's here too?!! OMG! XD

Mara & Squirt
------------------

"Me calm?! I guess I am nowdays!" she said, laughing to herself, "I wasn't always this calm person before you. At the beginning of this, I was much more emotional. I think that having these bad things happen to me has somehow made me stronger... or... look at me now! I sound like some sort of smart person! Wow, we really do need to get something to eat!"

Seth had finally woken up and was now proceeding to the bathroom. Mara shook her head.

"It'll be about another twenty minutes, you should have seen how long it took him to find his shoe the night I first met him," Mara said fondly.

EDIT: Oh... nevermind. Clow left.

Teioh had finally found his verbal skills and was about to reply as he noticed that the others had finally woken up as well, filling the room with bustle and commotion, seemingly unaware of what had happened. There was no way he could say anything to Coran now, not with all of the others around, it would be too embarassing for her, for the both of them really. Explanations would just have to wait until later. The boy-Espeon sighed in his mind, hoping that Coran wouldn't misinterpret his silence on the matter.

"Yeah, I can agree with that." he commented to the group in general, wondering wether he should send an 'I'll talk to you later' or something to that effect to Coran, but the general commotion in the room was already distracting enough and he had missed his chance, turning grumpily to watch as Squirt lifted up Limpy and declared him one of their protectors.

{Possibly...} Limpy replied in a defensive kind of way, slightly huffed about having been snatched up like that all of a sudden. {But don't get all heroifying on me woman. I'm only doing it because I want to get even with LG inc.!} he added hastily {No-one will ever get to say that I'm some kind of ridiculous good samaritan or busybody or something, you hear me?} there was something about the way in which Limpy made this statement that gave of the impression that he was trying to convince himself of that more than anyone else.

Even Biggs seemed to have been stirred from his sleep as he lumbered out of the bathroom with a particularly confused expression on his face. {Mornin'...} the Slowbro muttered, taking in the sights in front of him {Did I miss something?}

ooc| Urgh... I'm so...tired... I got home at about quarter past midnight, and then my friend stayed the night... and I've got a bit of a hangover! We and my mates met up with some of their older brother's friends, and we all went a bit mad. xD

IC|

Coran nodded at their words, not really listening. She was feeling paticularily angry at herself, and she couldn't even bring herself to say anything in return. She picked up Rave's pokeball from the table, and slipped out of the door.

Already, the pokecenter was busy. Nurse Joy was no where to be seen, but the red light was glowing on the surgery door, so Coran guessed there must have been some sort of emergency. The lights were turned down low, and the counter was unmanned; a few Youngsters were already hanging around, looking insolent. Several trainers were already sitting around at the tables, ordering some breakfast off the scanty menu. Coran picked a deserted table, as far away from the other cooltrainers as possible (who were already eyeing her up and down) and began to examine it. Eventually, she decided on beans and toast, and ordered it off one of the trainee nurses that were wandering around.
"Rave, come on out." she muttered lowly, releasing the safety catch on his ball so he reappeared in a red beam of light. The houndoom climbed onto the seat next to her, looking disgruntled.
{Wassup?} he asked, as he shoved his nose into the crook of her elbow. {{My doggy does this when he wants a hug.}}
Coran kissed him on the nose. "Nothing's wrong." she murmered, and Rave rolled his eyes. He knew his trainer better than anyone, and she had woken up like this plenty of times before. But...those were the old days. Sure wasn't livig the same way now, was she?

OOC: Eh, good morning then? XD Seems like you had fun at least. ^^

IC:

Biggs scratched his head at Coran's sudden departure from their midst, turning to Teioh with a quizzical expression etched on his face {Did I say something wrong?} he asked, obviously not grasping the situation at all.

The boy-Espeon muttered something incomprehensible in response and turned to adress all of the people gathered in the room. "I'll wait for you in the dining hall." he sent out before slipping out through the door as well.

As he headed towards the bottom floor, Teioh was still deeply lost in thought. This was definitely his best chance of talking this through without having the others in the way, but he still needed to find the right words to phrase himself.

As the boy-Espeon walked by the counter, he noticed a youngster accompanied by a Poochyena giving him an appraising look, probably sizing up what he considered a potential catch. {Don't even think about it, boy!} Teioh growled at the youngster, throwing him a warning glare as he walked through the dining hall as discreetly as he could in search of Coran. A task that he found fairly easy to accomplish by following the stares of the older males in the room.

The boy-Espeon wasn't particularly surprised to see that Coran had already brought Rave out, and approached with a hint of nervousness, a bit unsure wether the girl would even allow him to come near at the moment.

Coran and Rave had thier heads together. They weren't talking, but for these two, this simple gesture of unity was enough. The Trainee Nurse soon emerged with Coran's baked-beans-on-toast, and she accepted it gladly, smiling at the older girl. Coran thanked her, but the Nurse kept staring past Coran's shoulder.
"Oh!" she said, a little too loudly, "Isn't that you're Espeon? Didn't you fight Ray Blythe for it?" she patted Coran on the shoulder, and walked away.

For a moment, Coran stared at her toast. Did she want to talk to Teioh? Her life was a jumble of mistakes, and maybe Teioh was just one other. Most of her screw-ups made her sick; just thinking of them made the bile rise to her throat. Teioh didn't do that to her, though. If anything, he sent her stomach fluttering.
Rave gave her a dark look. {You gonna talk to him?} he demanded, growling quietly.
Coran smiled at him. "I'm okay, Rave." She closed her eyes. Rave knew what she had been through; he had been there, and seen it all... but he still didn't know how she felt inside.

She turned, catching sight of the espeon. "Hi again."

ooc| Gah, I can't write properly... Yeah, I had loads of fun, but I think my brain shrivelled up... xP

OOC: It ain't shrivled, just compact is all. XD

IC:

Teioh flinched slightly at the painfully loud introduction that the trainee nurse made, but he was pleased to note that Coran wasn't being hostile at least.

"Yeah, hi." he replied, walking a bit closer in order to make conversation easier. For a moment he was silent, gathering up his courage before he spoke up again "Listen" he said, keeping his mindvoice low even though none of those present would be able to hear it anyway. "About what happened..."

OOC: Gah! The shortness of this post most die and suffer for all eternity! *Repeatedly stabs the shortness with an imaginary knife* And you say you can't write properly at the moment. XD

Mara & Squirt
--------------------

Squirt peered over at Biggs, "Oh no Biggs, you didn't do anything. Teioh and Coran just wanted some 'alone time'." She chuckled a bit.

{Hmph,} Growlithe tutted, looking a bit disgusted, {I don't understand that at all. They're not even the same species. You would never find me lusting over some human girl....}

Shrugging, Squirt just assumed what anyone would have, "They're teenagers Growlithe, teenagers don't usually care when they feel love; besides, Coran's not crazy, Teioh's not really a pokemon."

Growlithe felt a bit annoyed, {Well they should at least act like they are different for now; it might be a bit awkward if they tried to kiss right this second. Besides, what if there is no cure for the boy.}

"Boy? Growlithe, you're not any older than he is. Quit acting like you're an old dog when you're somewhere around the age of everybody in this room aside from Limpy and Biggs maybe," she paused, "And there has to be a cure if they could have changed me back...." Squirt looked off to the other side of the room. Everytime she though of that place, all she could think of was her family and what she didn't want to remember.

Growlithe looked a bit sorry for how he had made her think of this though, and fell silent.

Mara laughed nervously, "Well, now that that's taken care of! Seth?" The boy had been holding his stomach, and Mara was a bit concened.

"Oh, I think I'm hungry," Seth answered with a smile, "Though, I don't want to interrupt Teioh and Coran."

Mara puzzled over this for a moment, and then nodded to herself. "Alright," she said as she finished smoothing over her bedsheets that she had placed back over her bed, "Let's go down there after Squirt and I get dressed. That'll give them a little bit of time."

Seth nodded in agreement, and Squirt realized she had nothing else to wear.

"Don't worry Squirt," Mara said, "I'll let you wear some of my clothes; I think we're about the same size."

ooc| *expects Melissa to drop dead of boredom at any second* ho ho, my character is very self-absorbed...just like me! xD Just kidding. By the way, Coran has loads of clothes in her bag... *hint hint*

IC|

Coran began to shift the beans around her plate. "Don't worry, Teioh." she said softly, but she didn't smile. She was beginning to regret this. There was something about Teioh, but she couldn't explain it. something that drew her to him, without her meaning to. Normally, she tried to keep away from people. Not get too emotionally involved... When she had still loved her parents, and they sent her away, it nearly killed her. She nearly destryoed herself, trying to earn money, in the hope that she could help them out and they'd take her back. I was stupid to think even MY money-grabbing family would sink so low, she thought bitterly.

Rave moved away, watching Teioh through scarlet eyes. He wasn't going to sit down and listen to Coran get hurt. If Teioh said anything..suggested anything... well, Rave would deal with it.

{ooc| can't think! *bangs head on desk*}

"Well..." Teioh replied, feeling more nervous than he could ever recall being. Many thing so hinged on what he would say, or what he wouldn't say, so very many things...and judging by the way Rave was watching him he could guess that some of the things might be aimed at him and that he really didn't want to find out what those things were. He had to say something soon though or he would come of as even more foolish than he already considered himself to do. "That was actually the very same thing I wanted to tell you. I mean, you were obviously tired and upset because of that nightmare and I just happened to be the first furry animal at hand. Accidents happen, right?"

She gave Teioh a genuine smile. "Yeah...accidents happen." she stared at her plate, wishing she could think of something more interesting say.

Rave got up, feeling irritable, and wandered off. Coran... did she love this boy-espeon? He wondered, whether she had thrown away all her usual scruples an decided to follow her heart for once. Did Teioh like her back? That was even worse. She was a human and he was a pokemon, but Rave knew that wouldn't last for long. There was a cure, Squirt had shown them all that, and then Teioh would be a human... and Coran's experiences with male humans had only been bad ones.

ooc| Scruples means morals... I like the word, it sounds very...scruple-y. xD Sprry for shortness, as usual...

OOC: Yeah, scruples has a nice ring to it. ^^

IC:

Teioh gave an inward sigh of relief as he noticed Coran's smile, soon finding himself smiling as well. Despite all of the doomsday scenarios that had run through his head, things had worked out for the best. Well, for the most of them anyway, Rave didn't look particularly pleased as he wandered off and the boy-Espeon was left with the nagging suspicion that he would certainly be hearing from him at some point. But Coran seemed to be feeling better and that was what mattered at the moment, although the girl was staring at her plate and seemed to be at loss about what to say, much like Teioh alas. Should he start wondering out loud about where the others were? Although that might be giving of the impression that he didn't enjoy being alone with Coran, which wasn't true at all. Maybe he should just strike of a conversation with something trivial? He couldn't seem to come up with anything though. He found this rather strange himself, Teioh was the type that practically always had something to say and was used to striking up conversation in times of awkward silence, but he seemed to find himself strangely out of words once more. And just at the moment when he really wanted to have something smart to say too.

ooc| They say it in Pride & Predjudice... which I am obsessed with. How sad. My English class has a huge on-running joke going, and whenever anyone says 'scruples' you have to shriek the word really, really loudly. Great fun.

For a moment, Coran remained silent. She wished she could tell Teioh what she was feeling - not that she knew herself - but it would lead to awkward implications. I'll bury it down, she thought, and ignore it. After all, what happened if Teioh didn't actually feel - if she actually knew what it was, that is - the same as her, and her honesty ruined their friendship?
Coran banged her fist on the table. Why was everything so awkward? "God, me and you are friends, and we're sitting here in silence like total strangers!" she said, laughing. "I guess I got off to a bad start..." she began to eat, chewing each mouthfull with relief.
"This city's got a bad feel to it... like, the LG corp has tainted it or something. I'll be glad to leave." She said, in an offhand voice. To be completely honest, she was mainly looking forward to the train ride. Sun, sea and sand came later.

Rave grumbled under his breath, and turned his attention to the television in the corner.

"I know." Teioh replied to Coran's first statement, shaking his head at the strangeness of the whole situation. "It's ridiculous." In the privact of his mind he sighed once more, this time in frustration. He knew that he could go back to being his usual self if only he could be honest and tell Coran how he felt about her. The girl had been showing signs of the attraction being mutual, or at least he thought so. But what if they were just Teioh seeing what he wanted to see? There had already been enough awkward situations for one morning, and he didn't want to create another by professing what might be unrequited affection. Just business as usual Teioh... he told himself Don't go alienating a good friend just because of your own little fantasies.

"Yeah" Teioh concured at Coran's later comment "There's something deeply wrong with a place where you can't even drink a glass of water in a restaurant without risking to be transformed. Suncrest won't be nearly as bad, I hope. And even if it is, I know at least one person there who'll still be on our side."
