Project PS; The Pokemon shifter case, part 1:

{ooc| Hey, Alter, when are you considored 'fluent' at a language? Also, I'm guessing you means pants as in the american word for 'trousers'. Here, pants are more like underwear. =o

Ho ho, there's lots of inter-species relationships going on here... dun dun dun!}

As the voice boomed out from overhead, Coran cupped her hands over her ears. "God, do they have to shout so loudly? I mean, I think even the death old biddies in Suncrest could hear that." She laughed half-heartedly, struggling to break the atmosphere that was building in their little compartment.
She knew it wasn't Mara's fault that she had let that slip; Coran didn't even know why she was so embarressed by Mara's words, the girl was only joking. Probably because it had been so close to home... If Mara had suggested Seth had fancied her, she would have laughed it off, because it was so outlandish.
In a way, though, Coran wished she did know how Teioh felt about her. Did he really like her in that way, as Mara obviously thought? Was she, Coran, being blind, oblivious to all the signs shot her way?
Then were was the worst case scenario, of course...that Rave was right. Coran wished with all her heart that he was wrong, just for once... but her houndoom normally got things just right.
She watched the landscape flash past; once they were in Suncrest, they would be so busy all these thoughts wouldn't get a look in. There wasn't a problem. It would all get forgotten about, and Coran could bury this odd longing she felt deep, deep down.

OOC: I think it's when you're capable of holding a working conversation in it. ^^ As for the 'pants' thing, I was trying to concoct a subtle play on ambiguity (That is, the fact that 'pants' has at leas two different meanings), apparently it didn't work well. XD

And yeah, there's some pretty suspect stuff going on, eh? Wonder if we'll end up with a PG rating. o_O

IC:

"Yeah, tell me about it..." Teioh replied, shaking his head in an attempt to diminish the ringing in his ears. "I swear those announcements are getting louder every year."

In a way, the boy-Espeon was pleased for the noise however, as it made for a valid reason to steer the conversation onto a different, less embarassing and, above all, less delicate track. Talking about his feelings had never really been Teioh's forte, and these emotions...no, if it had to be done it had to be done in private.

Before any further conversation took place, the train screeched as it came to a halt, the sound causing Teioh to flinch once more. He could swear that this would come back to haunt his eardrums later on.

"Well, looks like we're here." the boy-Espeon commented, "Let's get the others and go outside before we get stuck in the crowd."

{ooc| I think we probably already need a PG rating, considoring some of thes tuff we're all hinting at xD}

Coran went crashing to the floor as the train screeched it a halt. She expected it to slide neatly into the station, coming to a gentle stop, but whoever was driving had slammed the breaks on so fast it threw her off the seat. She swore louly, and stumbled to her feet, rubbing her knees. "A little more warning would be nice..." she grumbled, and turned to give Teioh an apologetic smile- only to find the sight of him made her stomach turn inexplicably. It wasn't exactly an unpleasent feeling, but she jerked her head away quickly.

She pushed open the door, only to find the corridor already crowded with bodies. She couldn't see Squirt or Seth through the scrum, and it looked like their door was still shut. Then she saw it; a familiar face in the crowd. She jumped back into the room and closed the door, standing with her back against the wall. She watched out of the corner of her eye as an auburn haired boy walked past, his locks gelled into ridiculously big spikes. "Don't...want to talk to him." she said to her friends. "I'd rather he didn't know I was in Suncrest, actually." she glanced down, her eyes on her feet.

OOC: True, what would it be? PG 14 for repeated hints on naughty bits? o_O If it goes beyond that then you couldn't continue in this RP anymore and that would make this a bit difficult. XD

IC:

Nice one Teioh the boy-Espeon commented to himself as he noticed the rather sudden manner in which Coran jerked her head away. Now you've gone and messed up again... he wasn't clear on what way he had offended Coran in, but obviously he had done something for the girl to avoid looking at him like that. As Coran jumped back into the compartment, muttering something about not wanting to bee seen by one of the people outside, Teioh took a glance at the person in question, immediately taking note of his distinctively spiked hair. The boy-Espeon wasn't exactly sure how the two knew each other, but it seemed obvious by the way Coran acted that she had quite a serious reason to be avoiding him.

"Don't worry..." Teioh replied, taking in the boy's scent for future reference. "I can always hit him with Hypnosis and make him think that he was just dreaming it up if it comes to that. Who is that guy anyway?"

{ooc| I'm sure we'll manage... but seriously, how many mods would scroll through 22 pages+ of writing just to see if we say too many rude things? xD}

"A friend." she said hoarsely. "We saw him out on the platform, remember? I betrayed him. Walked out on him. Broke his trust, if you want." she opened the door a crack, and the girl watched as he disappeared out one of the doors further along. Once he was out of sight, she steped back into the corridor. The crowds were already beginning to thin out. "I used to live in a big ol' house with him, and a bunch of older kids. He's... god, sixteen now, I think. We used to squat... me... him... a few other girls and one other guy. I was the youngest, at thirteen." she pulled a face. "It was a pretty dodgy way to live. Hence, me and Rave moved on." Her thoughts moved back to the dog-pokemon. His words still rang loud in her head.

She walked over to Squirt and Seth's compartment, and peered in - only to catch sight to two boys, one of which seemed to be chatting up Squirt. "If only he new," she laughed, before turning back to Mara and Teioh. "It'd be rude to interupt." she grinned at Mara.

OOC: Fwee! Writing an essay, chatting with my brother on Yahoo! Messenger, and posting in RPs all at once! Hoorah! @___@

Mara & Squirt
---------------

"Thanks Limpy," Squirt said in a sarcastic tone, "I'll do that."

Seth looked absolutely relieved when the train had arrived at the station, and sprang up at once out of his seat as if something had bitten him.

"Well, we'll be going now. Nice meeting you," he said to the two boys, though he didn't really mean it, "Let's go Squirt." He then jolted out of the room.

Squirt blinked and looked down at Limpy and Biggs. "Erm, I guess he's in a hurry. Come on...." She swept out of the compartment, the last thing she heard as she left was Aaron saying to Rave, "Do you think her boyfriend's really all that she said?" Squirt smirked.

When she finally caught up with Seth, she frowned at him, "Hey, why'd we have to leave so fast?"

"Those guys were annoying, and if they followed us they would probably end up flirting with Mara and Coran too. They just looked like that type," he said, looking around for the others.

Squirt raised an eyebrow, "Well, unfortunately, we got out so fast, Mara and Coran and Teioh are probably still on the train...."

The crowd sure was big. Hopefully they could find them soon.

OOC: Poo... I have to get to class. Was gonna write more but... I'll be back in an hour and a half.

{ooc| No worries, my dear, we'll wait. =D}

OOC: Yeah, that we will. It's not like I can do much else than wait, what with the Alphimega RP's continued existence being treathened by plagiarism charges and all. Gah, I swear I'm going to hurt Tsukasa bad if he doesn't sort this out. <_<

Meh, I'm ranting again...*Sigh*

On a more positive note; what do you think of my new avvie? I know it's kind of small but it's a fairly accurate representation, methinks.

{ooc| Ooo, ooo, it's cute! Did you make it yourself? It's really good!
Eh, but I'm still not keen on Cradilly...
I need to make a sprite of myself soon..but they're so tiny and, like, hard xP I like using the watercolour tools.}

OOC: Yay, positive feedback! ^_^ Yup, made it myself. Basically I just took a Cradily ingame sprite and the male from the 'young couple' sprite and did some edits to make the guy look more like me. This kind of spriting is one of the few art forms I have any grasp of, alas...

Oh, and stay around me long enough and you'll grow to like Cradily. The precious little things grow on you they do, just ask Plushie or Yibber. XD

{ooc| Whereas it's one of the few (other than oil pastels, which I can't seem to get the hang of) art forms I'm actually incapable of using ^^;
*pets* ah well, Alter, you pwn the english language xD Everyone's good at something.}

OOC: Oh good! Thanks for waiting, you guys are too kind. ^-^ I swear things always hit you all at once. Life can be so overwhelming.

Oh, and I love the avvie Alter! Anything with a Cradily in it is a perfect representation of you. XD I still don't know about Cradily either... though, having to draw Lileep has made me like it. Perhaps if I try to draw a Cradily it will begin to grow on me.

I'm not that good at sprite editting either. Thus why I drew my own pokemon for the adoption thread. ^^ In fact, I should be finally getting done with them all this weekend. >_> I think I enjoy relaxing from doing them a little too much.

Mara & Squirt
-----------------

Mara walked along with Coran and Teioh. "Well this is silly. We're never going to find them like this. Seth isn't that tall, and Squirt's rather small for her age. Limpy and Biggs would be impossible in this," Mara said, tossing her pokeball to the ground.

Growlithe's puppy-dog form soon stood in the wake of a flash of white light. He looked around and almost got trampled by a large woman who had lost her balance.

{Gah! Humans...,} he grumbled, biting down the intense urge to bark at the woman.

"Growlithe, go find Squirt and lead Seth and her back to us!" Mara commanded, having to yell it a bit over the noise. Growlithe was off in a flash, and darted under and around people in the crowd. After a few seconds, Mara couldn't even tell where he had gone.

Mara shivered a bit. She wasn't too fond of big crowds; you never knew who was in it. "So many people...," she found herself saying aloud.

----------------------

Growlithe sniffed and sniffed and finally got to where Seth and Squirt were standing. Squirt saw him first, and ran up to him, Seth and Biggs following. Limpy was being carried again.

"Growlithe! I'm glad you're here. We thought we were never going to find you guys," Squirt expressed, smiling.

{Let's get back. We should not waste time,} he replied gruffly. He turned tail and ran off back toward Mara and the others. Seth squinted.

"Where'd he go?" the boy said, frowning.

Squirt peered around for a moment and suddenly Growlithe's head popped out of a space between two people talking. {Come on then!} he said, waiting for them to follow.

"Oh, there he is. Let's go," Squirt said, taking off. Seth and Biggs followed. After a few moments of squishing people and maneuvering around other things, Squirt and Seth finally made it to where Mara and Coran were.

"Hi guys," Squirt said, smiling. Seth said hello as well.

Mara patted Growlithe on the head. Squirt followed suit; though Growlithe gave her an odd look. It was strange to be patted on the head by someone you had regarded as a pokemon.

"Good. Now that we're all here; where should we go?" Mara asked, smiling nervously. She had no idea.

OOC: Oh no! Alphimega in trouble?!!!!! That's terrible! When was the last time Tsukasa even posted??? Like a month ago? Come on, just because Tsukasa started a plagarized thread doesn't mean you all should pay. I smell jealousy here. I betcha nothing would have been done if it were only like 10 pages and going slowly. T_T 74 pages probably turned some heads and got more people to look carefully at it.

OOC: That's alright, I know how bad real life can bite you when you're not careful. Oh, and thanks for the positive feedback. Yay! It's not hideous like some of my work! (Either that or you're being diplomatic XD)

But you're saying that neither of you are good at sprite editing? o_O That's surprising, the art of copy-pasting, cutting, and recolouring always struck me as being the very simplest form. Maybe it's just too simple for people of your talent. ^_^

Oh, and drawing Cradily...if you do I'd love to see it! (Big surprise, eh? XD) Limu ain't evolving any time soon though (I think the evolution level was 40), but Kindle is actually getting pretty close. (I think she's a late level 14 now) So uh...should I make a PM notification about that as well?

IC:

"I think we should be heading to Rhaine's place first." Teioh replied, quickly skipping to the side to avoid being trampled by a rather obese man who was wearing a suit that looked a size or two too small for him and hauling a large briefcase in each hand. "It's hard to tell directions with all these people around..." he added, peering around the crowd "But I should have no problem finding a way for us once we get a bit more out into the open."

{S'cuse me.} Biggs muttered as he tried to elbow his way through the crowds as politely as possible in an effort to keep up with the group {S'cuse me, coming through.}

{They can't understand you, you know.} Limpy, who was still enjoying the privilige of being carried rather than having to force his way through the veritable jungle of feet below, commented, watching the Slowbro's efforts with slight amusement. {What's the point with apologizing?}

OOC: Yeah, Alphimega is officially in distress. And yes, I do believe that our posting activity has something to do with it. (Yeah, I can be cynical like that) <_< Meh, it's not like it's got anything of the previous Alphimega RPs plot in it but the fact remains that the plot description and sign-up sheet are word-to-word copies. *Sigh* Well, I'm not giving up this easy. Even if Alphimega gets shut down I'm starting meh own RP; same genre but a different setting and with new twists so no-one can call it plagiarizing. So yeah, might as well try to round up potential sign-ups for it. Would either of you be interested?

{ooc| As long as you don't start it while I'm away, I'm all for it. I've got a roleplay plot, plus sign up sheet and whatnot, already saved on my pc, but I don't think this year will be a good time to start it. Heh heh, got so many exams... xP Oh, and once again, I apologise for my horrible spellings. I haven't got a spell-check on my computer... stupid lack of Word...}

Coran followed in silence. "C'mon out, Rave." she whispered, as her Houndoom emerged from his ball. His sleek, dark form looked almost otherwordly in the bright sunlight of the train platform. He turned his head to give them all brutal stares, before falling in step with Coran.
The girl's hand moved automatically to the great nod's horns, running a finger up and down the silvery white surface. "So...does she know we're coming?" she asked warily, her usual over-polite-always-happy-to-oblige nature reappearing now she was feeling uneasy. "After all, we don't want to seem rude, and you only get one first impression, once that's botched you're pretty screwed." she babbled, mainly to Rave, who was rolling his eyes.
A few people hopped from their path; Coran noticed, they were all precosious looking women with their darling children, all whom eyed the friend's pokemon like potentional death traps. Coran thought she could see why, when Rave walked in his usual, arrogant gait, his tail flashing from side to side....but Biggs? Limpy? Teioh? It was odd, how even now, there was a portion of the world deeply predjudiced against pokemon.

OOC: Oh yes, your absence would, in effect, be at least six days of next week, right? Well, it's not like it can start very soon anyhow since Yibber is going to Hong Kong for a few days and I really want to have the old quartet together when I start. Well, it's good to know that I have 5 potential RPers at least. ^^

Oh, and you've got a plot lined up? WH00TNESS! That will give me something to look forward to as well. ^^

IC:

"Not that I'm aware of..." Teioh replied, taking point and steering the group down the various streets, picking up on the familiar layout of the city once more. It hadn't changed a bit. Although he had probably been gone for barely a week the boy-Espeon still felt like it had been ages since he had trodden the sun-heated pavements of his hometown, and as he took note of the few people who cast them suspicious glances he began to remember all too well why he had left. "Although I wouldn't be surprised if she, by some peculiar means, already knew that we're coming. Relax, Rhaine is quite happy to get to know new people who come knocking at her door for no apparent reason." the boy-Espeon smiled for himself, leading the group past a beach crowded by the usual crowd of sunbathers, peddlers, kids playing in the sand, some of them with their pok?mon, parents watching their children from the sanctuaries of their beach umbrellas and young people coming to show of their bodies in the hopes of attracting other young people. The only common factor amongst the gathered people seemed to be that no-one had really come there to swim, something which Teioh had always found rather annoying. "As for making a good first impression," he continued "Just try to be patient with Pixie and keep an open mind. The rest of the details will work themselves out. Well, it looks like we're here."

The boy-Espeon suddenly came to a halt in front of a fairly large house which truly would have been indistinguishable from all of the other houses on the block if not for the fact that a good part of the back yard was occupied by a haphazard pile of what seemed like junk metal, the dominant feature of it being the sturdy husk of a partially dismantled old army tank. Teioh walked over to the door, standing at a suitable distance from it and waiting for someone with hands to ring the doorbell, above which the name R. Adaell was written in neat lettering on a small sign.

{Impressive} Limpy commented, eyeing the tank husk {This friend of yours wouldn't happen to be running a junk yard as a side bussiness, would she?}

Biggs, who was still panting from the exhaustion prepared to scold the Rattata once more but then thought the better of it, cutting himself of before he had even begun and giving an exasperated sigh before he walked towards the door as well.

{ooc| I considored doing it in two halves, one from November to January, and then one from about May to September. That would avoid the majority of my exams/coursework. But if you're already setting up, I can wait. xD
Yeah, six days. My social life really clashes with internet life... I'm going out tonight as usual, by the way, and for most of tomorrow too. I'll be here until about 11 AM, though.}

Coran followed Teioh doggedly, breathing in that soft, sun-bathed scent that always accompanied sea-side towns. She side-stepped several tourists while they posed for a camera, only for her eyes to fall on the beach. In an instant, they were glittering with excitement. "The sea!" she sang, in a merry voice, and dashed from Teioh's side. She crashed onto the sand, relishing in that familiar feeling of sand-between-the-toes.
"Oh, heaven..." she whispered, and sheilded her eyes with her hand so she could observe the entire beach. People were sprawled everywhere; several boys her age had glanced up at Coran's crash-landing onto the dunes, but most were still lost in her own little worlds. Several strings of different song lyrics rose up into the air, mingling into a slightly less than harmonious chorus, as their owners battled with their volume controls to be heard above the other. Her eyes trailed along the shore, watching the crashing 'white horses', as her father had called the foam, sent children fleeing from it's wake. No one was swimming, and Coran had the sudden urge to throw herself in. However, she thought, firstly she'd ruin her skirt... and secondly, it was an extremely ungainly and impolite thing to do.

Eventually, she pulled herself away, falling back in line behind Limpy. She returned for the very last bit of Teioh's speech. She hoped he hadn't noticed her vanishing act - after all, he had been busy inspecting the beach.
She glanced at the house, but she was more drawn to the tank in the garden. "She isn't a military nut, is she?" she asked warily, before following Teioh to the door.

OOC: *signs the wall for Alphimega* Hm... I shouldn't have put it in Arial. It looks too... normal. And it's really big! o.o Oh well, I signed it! ^^; I would join! It looks really fun. Actually, I would join either of yours. You guys make good stories.

Mara & Squirt
-----------------

"Oh boy," Mara said, anticipating this to be quite interesting. Hopefully everything went smoothly. After all, if Rhaine was as smart as Teioh portrayed her as, then there should be little problems. Pixie shouldn't prove to be too much trouble, would she?

Squirt shifted a bit. It seemed so much easier being a pokemon. If anyone noticed you, it wasn't with the same staring, judging eyes as they were when they looked at other humans. Sure, you were judged as a pokemon, but it was different. You were seen as either a threat, or a pet. As a human... it was just different.

{Hm... looks a bit filthy around here to me,} Growlithe said, sniffing around. He was never quite fond of people who didn't keep their property clean. Squirt raised an eyebrow.

"That's a great way to start out Growlithe!" she said sarcastically, "Maybe you should button your lip."

OOC: Sorry for my absence in posting folks. I went with my family to watch this Japanese animated movie, I'm not sure what its name is in english, 'The Moving Castle' or something to that effect probably. Anyhow, it was a worthwhile experience certainly. Even though the movie did go a bit melodramatic in the end. Meh, I can live with that certainly, must have picked it up from my dad. ^^

And yay! Another sign-uper. That makes six. ^^ Heh, will probably keep it at that actually...I had some brainstorming with Yibber, courtesy of the wondorous technology that is Personal Messaging, and it seems like six RPers is just the right number for the plot now. Although I suppose it could be stretched to eight with slight modifications. But I'm not really all that eager to do that, those last two could quite well serve another purpose. Oh, and thanks for signing the wall Melissa (Oooh goodie! I just checked it and it turns out that Kylie-Chan signed too! That's moderator support no less ^^). All support is appreciated. Anyhow, on to RPing.

IC:

"Nah, she's not." Teioh assured Coran, listening to the familiar sound of the doorbell and the sound of motion inside the house headed their way. "She bought that on sale, is all, lots of good quality metal to go around."

Just as the boy-Espeon had finished his sentence, the door creacked open, revealing the creature behind it...a somewhat whimsical-looking Togetic that flapped about a bit, eyeing the group with wide-eyed curiosity.

"Visitors!" the fairy pok?mon squeaked in human speech, her pronounciation was a bit off and the intonation wasn't quite in the right place, obviously Pixie was still having trouble with the language, but her words were mostly understandable nonetheless. "And such a big crowd!" she continued, circling around the group "Oh me oh my! Who oh who is goings to be findings chairs for them all?! Not Pixie! No, certainly not her! She bes always havings a bad back!"

{Erm...Pixie?} Teioh asked as the Togetic took a brief pause to catch her breath {Could you maybe go and fetch Rhaine?}

"Oh, if only the Teioh-boy was here!" Pixie continued, seemingly taking no note of the interruption "Him coulds carries all them chairs! Yes he coulds! Teioh-boy bes very strong! And him bes smart too! So the mistress said, although Pixie wonders. If him bes so smart how come him not bes performing research but carryings the heavy things instead?"

She finally twirled around, turning to adress the group once more.

"So, what bes you wantings with the mistress?" the Togetic inquired, tilting her head towards them.

Bursting into a fit of giggles at Pixie's mumbling, Coran struggled to remain upright. The little creature spoke in such an outlandish, discontinued way, it was hard to remain straight faced at all her mispronounciations.
When no-one else spoke, Coran, finally twigging that the little Togetic was actually adressing her and Mara, cleared her throat and brushed herself down, struggling to regain her dignity.
"Um... Uh... Is Rhaine in?" she asked catiously, half expecting the Togetic to throw a book at her, or maybe a metal tank. Something along those lines. After all, Coran had laughed at her...
Rave began to growl lowly. {Hurry up and get your trainer,} he said menacingly, {we don't have all day.}
"Shush, Rave!" she scolded him, before turning back to Pixie. "Uh...Teioh's...in a bit of trouble. He - we - could really do with some help."
She glanced down at the espeon-boy by her feet. Teioh~! she cried out with her mind, A little help, please?

{ooc| Maybe Maxie will make an appearence in the new rp, eh? My sacred favourite character needs to make a comeback soon (even though, according to one unfinished roleplay, she's still stuck inside a wall of ice) and Alter's new roleplay may be the one for it!

Urgh... I've got so much course work to do....}

OOC: Maybe she could at that. Hmm...we shall just have to see if you think the plot is suitable for her, eh?

IC:

Although slightly confused by Coran's sudden mirth and a bit offended by Rave's remark, particularly the tone in which it was delivered, Pixie seemed incapable of handling many things at once and both notions were overridden by the end of the girl's sentence.

"Teioh-boy is in trouble?!" Pixie squeaked, tumbling over in mid-air out of shock "The mistress will not be happy about that, no she will not! And neither will poor Pixie! She will be havings to carry all them heavy chairs all by her little self now! And she bes always havings a bad-"

{Pixie!} Teioh cut in, his voice significantly sharper now. He knew by experience that the Togetic could fly there babbling all day once she got on a roll like that.

The Togetic looked down at the boy-Espeon, slightly huffed about being stopped like that.

{Pixie, it's me, Teioh.}

"Teioh?" Pixie echoed, her eyes narrowing in suspicion "You must be thinkings that Pixie bes completely silly! Teioh bes not havings no fur! No him bes not! And him bes far taller too!"

{Yes, I used to be, but-} Teioh sighed in exasperation, he could explain all day and he was sure that the Togetic wouldn't even understand half of it {Look, just go fetch Rhaine, allright? She'll understand.}

"Well..." the Togetic said slowly "That bes okay Pixie suposes, but you stays right there! No funny bussinesses!" she turned her eyes to Rave "Sittings there like good doggie!" she remarked, before fluttering back into the house and giggling for herself as she went to fetch Rhaine.

Teioh heaved a sigh of relief at the thought that they'd have someone rational to talk with soon, Pixie certainly hadn't changed a bit.

"Well, I think that went pretty well." he stated, "Pixie can really be a handfull at times but she means well."
