AN: Before you read this, I might as well tell you a little bit about this and to clear up any misunderstandings that may arise when one has finished reading. This one shot was written a while back. I don't exactly remember when, but I was trying to get back into the writing swing. Looking at me now, it didn't help much. I already posted this on two other sites, one which has already been shut down, and the other I just deleted recently. If you are from SuperSkarmory's forum or Pokebeach and you have already read a oneshot of a similar title, then I will tell you now that this is the same one shot. Did I plagiarize? Nope. But, then your next question be: "First Snow, you're not twenty-one!" Um to answer that, I was never twenty-one... So on these two forums I lied... Why? Well I didn't want to be found on a medical examiner's table... Anyways, I hope this clears the confusion. Anyways, about Promise, I added a bit more at the ended and worked out some of the kinks I was able to find. I hope you enjoy this one shot. :D

    Promise

The full moon was up, surrounded by millions of stars that illuminated the dark sky. Many of the wild Pokemon had found refuge in their homes in trees, in bushes, or even lay down in the grass. All of them were sleeping peacefully, except for one.

It was a Pidgeot and he was the leader of the flock that was currently resting amongst the branches. Pidgeot's wings were neatly set by his sides as he sat on his perch on a branch. The bird Pokemon's yellow and pink, wavy head crest fell gracefully across his back, shimmering slightly due to the moonlight.
Just like a leader implied, the leader of the flock was very strong, but to every Pokemon there was a weakness, and for this particular Pokemon his emotions were his weakness. He took promises made to heart and his hope reached too high. This Pidgeot could remember a day where he was independent and didn't care for such things as promises and all his hope ever reached was the hope of getting a few Caterpies into his beak, but then he was caught and he began to change.

The Pokemon remembered those days and now that he looked back on it, those were great times. Sure, often times he was used to scout and pop some balloons, but he was treated very well and he still got to battle every now and then. He was fed and the bird had so many great memories engraved in not only his heart, but his mind as well.

But then Pidgeot had found himself back here, where the flock leader originally came from. It wasn't the bird Pokemon's fault; he was just doing the right thing. Pidgeot was protecting his kind and there was no harm in that was there? Yes, staying with the flock had brought many happy memories and even a bunch of his own chicks to raise and look after, but at times like these, the night time, Pidgeot would look at the sky and reminisce.

"Just in case that Fearow tries anything sneaky, I think it is better for you to stay here," His trainer had said, "We'll come back as soon as we get Prof. Oak's pokeball!"

But he never came; however, Pidgeot always hoped that his trainer would come back for him, just like he said he would. Even through the years, not once had Pidgeot lost a glimmer of hope that he would return for him, that was just how the Pokemon was now.

And that was how this Pidgeot was going to live his life, faithful and loyal to the man that had changed his life. This promise to stay faithful and loyal was a promise he was willing to keep for the rest of his life.

    "Ash I'm still waiting..."

    Aw, that was cute~
I knew that Ash had released his Pidgeot, but I was not aware that he had said that he would come back for him . . . that upsets me. :C
    Pretty good though, Snow!
