Have you ever had something really lucky happen that you weren't expecting?

I caught a Shiny Lampent and my friend got PokeRus in gen 6 within minutes. He traded me his PokeRus Snorlax and I got PokeRus, too!

What things have you encountered by pure luck? It could be beating that difficult gym leader because they did something stupid, catching that Pokemon with the right nature on your first try, anything.

defeating Cynthia's Garchomp by using toxic. luxray knew it, and it didn't bother using earthquake. and toxic missed once, too. plus it has a full restore so I had to toxic again. never used earthquake, though I switched to a pelliper to stall the toxic, and It used it on the turn I switched. really lucky, wouldn't you say?

In the summer of 2007, I caught two shinies in Emerald within a week: a Smeargle in Victory Road and a Wingull on the route west of Lilycove City. I wasn't even playing Emerald that much during that time.

In one of my latest games on the Battle Spot, I faced a Rain Dance Thunder team, and it had a Zapdos on it that used Double Team to become nigh untouchable. After a rough match we had both dwindled down our Pokémon to a 1v1, my Reuniclus and his Zapdos. His Zapdos was at full health and my Reuniclus was at half, and since Double Team was a thing I was sure I had already lost.
However, suddenly, Reuncilus actually manages to hit Zapdos, avoid a Thunder, and then hit him again, and THAT won me the game! It was absolutley beautiful, and I just had to save the match so I could re-watch it again.

I just caught my third Shiny, a Shiny Gulpin, in a horde battle. I've never gotten more than one Shiny per game before.

Got two shinies within five minutes of each other! Psyduck and then Hoppip. Never felt so lucky. :3
