Purple/Flimsy/Glossy Fake Pokemon Cards

    Hello all,

Does anyone remember when Pokemon first came out and there were these cards that were obviously fake due to many reasons:

    1. The cards weren't as wide as the real ones
    2. They weren't very solid. They were flimsy and could bend really easy
    3. The entire card was glossy instead of a matte finish like the real ones
    4. The back of the cards were purple instead of blue
    5. The bottom section on the front of the cards are missing the Illustrators name, the dates and copyrights/trademarks of the companies that made them as well as the circle, diamond and star symbol on the bottom right
    6. They were all shadowless and the print wasn't bold

Does anyone know what these specific cards are called? (and don't say fake, I already know that) Or who made them? I remember my grade school teacher gave us packs of these cards on good behavior and was looking to find some on ebay to relive my childhood but I don't know what they are called. I have tons of them.

I attached some photos of what I am talking about.

If anyone could shed some light on this that would be amazing!

What a bad teacher you had... Giving you (insert term here) Pokemon Cards! But still lucky nowadays nobody even knows about Pokemon In School.

After searching for "bootleg pokemon cards" and having some patience I found out that they were created for about a year and they used to come in a cardboard holder (which I completely forgot about) instead of foil wrap with word "Q-Boy" on the front along with the Pokeball picture.

Unfortunately I can't find any pictures of the cardboard holders they came in or of anyone selling them. If anyone has any information on who is selling them that would be awesome, I just want to have one around to remind me of my childhood days.

Maybe try a Chinatown neighborhood near you? Or maybe a dollar store?

They don't make them anymore, they got shut down about a year after for making fake copies.
