PUSA, what are you doing?

As you may or may not know, PUSA President Akira Chiba stepped down recently. On top of that, they've just fired TAJ Productions. For those that don't know, TAJ was the audio company the dub has used since the first movie.

PocketMonsters.net broke this, and I don't know how new this is.

Various sources have contacted Larry Juris via Email and he has confirmed that TAJ Productions will no longer be working on Pokemon. Apparently Pokemon USA fired TAJ Productions which had been working on the English version of Pokemon since the First Movie (1). It is currently unknown at this time why TAJ Productions was fired or who will replace them.

TAJ Productions is an audio post production facility located in New York City. They have provided their services for animation, live action, video games, and audio books.

With many fans currently unhappy with the voice actor change that happened two seasons ago, could this signal the possible return of the original voice actors?

First, don't get into an uproar about the voice actor deal. Second -- and the point of the thread -- what's going on with PUSA? All this rapid turnaround: your president gone, firing the ADR company that's been around since the beginning, more or less, what the heck is going on?

Is it a lack of leadership, insanity or is it a desire for change? I wish I knew.

It seems like the Dub with be ruined again. >.<

This seems very Odd for a company that makes a Kids Tv show, maybe the Anime is not as popular as before and is losing them money.

Nothing's happening about the VAs. The voice actors are staying. Found out from Serebii Forums. They say its probably just a change around inside the company

    Hey guys!

It is true that Taj Productions will no longer be recording the show. Pokemon USA has hired another company (which I will not name for privacy for now) in NYC to do it. The voice actors will not change. I am not leaving the show!! I am not at liberty to cite any reasons for the change. I just learned about the rumours on the message boards...sorry it took me so long to clear this up! Hope you all had a great holiday, and enjoy the show!

I wouldn't think so, but I wasn't sure to keep the VA line in the original report, as it could be baiting. Besides, something big like that would be a separate affair, anyway.

What's next? Firing the script writers?

(She has a Myspace account? Seems like everyone but me has one. Heh.)

Bah. I want the old VAs.

I hope they do better dubbing now.

I think Dogma said something about this on his site but he didn't say much about it. I really don't know much about what will happen. I mean it seems like the VAs will stay if Ash's VA is telling the truth and is knowing what she is saying. Still I guess the only change will be in the music that is feature within the show. Still does anybody really know what TAJ does according to the anime?

As in the president. He doesn't have much control of the anime does he. Just in who to hire right? I mean PUSA also does merchantdising as well don't they?

Teeheehee If it makes you feel better Charaxes. I don't have a MySpace too. Teeheehee

Well as long as it's cleared up that the VA's won't change again. I've only just got used to the new ones!

I got used to the VAs aaages ago. I hope the change will mean more original BGM. Maybe even keep the original openings? That would be cool. But I bet it won't...there probably won't be much of a difference. I don't have MySpace or anything hahaha I hate that type of thing

Due to what I've read about all this, I'm under the impression that just because they're going to have
a new recording studio, it doesn't mean that anything will change at all. Besides the location of where they record,
I think it's safe to say that nothing about the anime will change. (Music/VA-wise, I mean.)
There's really no reason for it to change.

    I did have hope for about 2 minutes, that the original VA's would come back.. xD;
but thats not a big enough reason for them to..

It's not just a different studio it's different people doing the sounds.
