3rd Gen Qs about LG/FR

    I'm getting LG in a few days and need to know some things;

    1. Is there any in-game trainers that will trade you Haunter?
    There's no-one in my town, that I know of, who I can trade with to get Gengar =/

    2. Is there any obtainable legendaries other than the legendary dogs/birds and Mewtwo?

    3. Do you think this is an effective team against the E4?
    Gengar/Haunter
    Charizard
    Lapras
    Dragonite
    Jolteon
    Kabutops/Hypno - Can't decide yet =S

    3. Can you get other gen Pokemon after your 1st defeat of the E4 or the 2nd?

    4. Is there an item like PokeNAV?

    1: Sorry but not D: No in-game trainers will offer you a haunter.

    2: Actually, you can only get one of the legendary dogs, the one with type advantage over your starter. The other legendaries in the game, Deoxys, Ho-ho and Lugia require special tickets only obtainable in long-past events, so no, you are limited to the legendaries you said.

    3b: Yeah, after you beat the E4 the first time, you will be able to travel to the Sevii Islands (after doing some special requirements), where you'll find 2nd gen pokémon (from G/S/C).

    4: No. The most similar things you'll get are a map from Gary's sister, Dalia, and a VS. Seeker from a girl in Vermillion's Pokémon Center to rematch trainers. That's all.
     
    Thanks that'll have saved me taking hours of searching for someone. Guess i'll settle with Haunter. I knew about the legendary dogs, it was just ever so slightly quicker to type "legendary dogs" than "Suicune/Raikou/Entei". Aww can Ho-oh not just..fly over to Kanto lol.

    Yay the 2nd gen has most of my fave Pokemon!
     
    Well I have one thing to say, but this is about starters....

    Get a charmander, he is the easiest to train, train him up to level 15 before battling Brock and you'll own him with Metal Claw or something like that i forgot.

    And then catch a Pikachu in the forest to own Misty with.
     
    lol its leaf green just get a bellsprout, pikachus are too rare...
     
    Wow, this helped me alot when I started my Leaf Green game, I got a few questions of my own....
    1. Is there any special way to initally find one of the legendary dogs?? (I started out with Bulbasuar, so Entei would be the chosen one)
    2. How many times does the E4 stop uping there levels??
    3. How do you get a Hitmontop??
    4. Is every Unown letter in the ruins on 7 Island??

    1. i think as soon as you give the ruby and sapphire gems they are activated and are found at random locatations in the wild.

    2. i dont know i only beat them twice i might check that out i just completed the game again.

    3.breed the hitmonlee/hitmonchan with a ditto to get an egg containing tyrogue train him with equal attack and defense stats and he will evolve into hitmontop but if the attack is higher than the defense you get hitmonlee and vise versa for hitmochan

    4. as far as i know all the unowns are in the ruins if you have not already done the puzzle that says there was a noise from far away or something like that then none of them will appear.

    oh and a bonus if you go to the water labryinth there is a man who will give you a egg containing togepi if you treat your pokemon well

[I started out with Bulbasuar, so Entei would be the chosen one]) is great and all, I was just wondering if there was any special trick or something to finding Entei. Sorry about not being clear. :(

    not as far as i know you just have to look around but if you have a freind who has an entei and willing to trade you it for a minuite just so you have him it in your pokedex i think if you go to the area location part on the pokedex i go told it shows you the current area of your legendary dog but you have to be quik and fly to the nearest town to that route stay in saffron because that is closest to most routes hope this answers your question propeley.
