So I just got back from the new James Bond movie Quantum of Solace, and I have to say I was blown away. I enjoyed Casino Royale, but to me it wasn't a Bond movie because it was a pseudo-prequel/reboot, but it just didn't have that Bond feeling to it. And Quantum started that way for me too, but halfway through it took a change of pace and returned me to the reason why I love Bond movies (the fact that they are Bond movies).

Honestly, I thought the first half of the movie, didn't give the audience (or Bond) a chance to breathe, but the second half returned him to what he once was, or at least added some of those elements back to him. I like this new bond, where he's weighted by emotions and is a more 3 dimensional character, but I also like the old style of bond, which took awhile to reemerge. Also I think the writers finally pulled off what they've been trying for years, making the Bond Girl strong and independent, but still able to be weak and love bond. They've been trying since Dalton to strike that balance, and I am pleased to say they finally got it right.

So does anyone else have any thoughts about Quantum of Solace? Are you interested in seeing it? Feel free to discuss from here on out. I do caution those who haven't seen it yet, there may be spoilers to follow.

I'm going to see Quantum of Solace - it hasn't been released in Australia yet. However I'm going to see it on Thursday. It looks good - I haven't been hunting for trailers anywhere, and have only seen parts of the movie from the little advertising that is shown on television. The action scenes look pretty good though. I'm looking forward to watching it.

I'm going to share similar feeling two you. Except I HATED Casino Royale, that movie was so slow and boring it was sad.

The first half of this movie made On Her Majesty's Secret Service look GOOD! I don't know what they were thinking at all with the first part of this movie. It looked like a bad mix of Live Free or Die Hard and a Quentin Tarantino film. The car chase was poorly done in the beginning, very bad. To confusing. The running chase scene was not needed and to top it off, the CGI was HORRIBLE! Somebody call Industrial Light and Magic for the love of GOD!

The second half was good. It moved along at a reasonable pace, the bond girl was all kinds of HOT, and the story made more sense. The hotel scene where he "Won the Lottery" was classic bond.

I would say the second half of this movie saved Daniel Craig's James Bond Career. If it wouldn't have been good, I would say he should have been fired quickly and Pierce Brosnan brought back for the final movie.

I saw Quantum of Solace this weekend, and, although I thought it was a good overall film, I couldn't help noticing that it lacked a storyline. It all seemed very action based, (yes, I am aware that that is how James Bond Works) but, with too much action for no apparent reason. I just felt that the storyline seemed a bit of an afterthought is all. Not that it wasn't a bad film, because the effects and everything else was absolutely amazing. I'm not quite sure about Daniel Craig as Bond either...

I thought it was good. It wasn't as good as Casino Royale, but Casino Royale was amazing, so that's not such a bad thing. I just felt like the plot wasn't really as deep, and the action scenes, though fun to watch, weren't very coherent. The cinematography was kinda all over the place and it was hard to tell what was going on during the fights and the chase sequences.

Daniel Craig is still fantastic as Bond, I liked the villain, and the girl was pretty hot. I'd say the film is well worth watching.

I enjoy Daniel Craig as bond but I HATED quantum of solace. I loved Casino Royale, it had so much bondness in it but their was too much action in QOS for my liking =/ It was hard to tell what was going on in some of the fight scenes...

The best part for me was:
