question about copyright

    Im makeing a game.. but that game is useing gfx from I dont know where:P
    but the gfx are VERY pokemon..

    Will I get trouble with copyright if I decide to publish the game?


    I see that alot games here use pokemon tiles..
     
    Well, it really depends. If the creator requires or asks for credit if they are used, you should credit him/her. If that person does not want his/her tiles used, then remove them.

    So, if I were you, I would find out whose tiles they are.
     
    well.. they are VERY pokemon.. so arent they from nintendo?

    if you have grafics that pretain a brand name (ie Pokemon beliongs to Gamefreaks and Nintendo) The you CANT sell your game. They dont seem to mind Fan games that much (though there have been rumers) Also long as at the start or in the credits you just put something like.
    "The original concept and creatures subject in the fan game were created and still belong to Nintendo and Gamefreaks" (if you use their music/sound effects, you may want to add that too)

    mah. So im kinda dependent on what nintendo thinks about this.
    If they think its a nice extra advert for getting more pokemon players, they allow it..

    Ok.. Ill set them big in the credits..
    I dont think I can find a graphics designer who wants to build an entire tileset for me XD


    or does someone else have a suggestion?
