Hey there, probably a totally newbie question, and I hope no one ever answer it anywhere but...

I want to know if the Sp.Attack stat affect the attack of the same type better than the others...

Like, a Fire type exemple... Will the Sp.Attack affect his Fire attack the same as for a Poison attack ?? (It's a total fictive exemple by the way)
Or, his Fire attack is going to be more effective, based on his Fire type ??!!

    Sorry for being so uninformed
And thanx for the answers :)

    This goes in Simple Q&A.

    To answer your question, yes.

The senario of which you described has a term. It is called Same Type Attack Bonus, or STAB. When a poke use a move that is the same type as itself, the attack gets a 50% boost.

For example, take Electrivire. It has Thunder & Earthquake (EQ for short). Thunder has a base power of 120. But since Electrivire is an Electric type, Thunder gets a STAB boost, adding 60 (half of 120) to the original 120, making it 180. However, EQ has a base power of 100. When Vire uses it, it will still be 100. However, if say, Torterra, a Grass GROUND type, EQ gets STAB, making it 150. Note, ThunderBOLT is a superior move, but for example purposes, Thunder is a more rounded number.

It works for physical moves as well as special.

STAB = Same Type Attack Boost

It basically means that when the attack type matches one of the pokemon types, then that attack will get an attack with x1.5 Base Power.

Yes. Thats what I said. In detail.

    hum... I'm really ashamed...
Didn't realized that it was so simple, and it's stated in numbers of pokemon books...

Thank you really much to you two :)
