Hi people. Thinking of getting a DS since I really want to play D/P, but I'd like to clear some stuff before that.

    How does the Wi-Fi work?

Can you link up with the whole world from home? Or do you have to go to a hotspot or something to do it? And if so, what is the radius of the hotspot?

I'm really attracted to D/P because of the fact that you can trade with anyone...

Oh, and if the US/Eu versions come out, will we be able to trade Pokemon from the Jap versions to them?

(Already done some checking up on Wi-Fi on Wiki and other sites, but still don't understand. Maybe you guys can help clear things up?)

    Thanks in advance... ^^

depends if you have a wireless internet connection in your house you can use that but if you dont have one you need to go to hotspots or buy a nintendo wi-fi usb connector
(this might be different were you life)

yes because you can also link up with other ds games so probally you can

Are you sure about the trading part?

'Cause last time I checked, the Jap version of FR couldn't trade with the EU version of FR...

And about the hotspot, you mean as long as you have wireless broadband at home, then you can Wi-Fi?

'Cause I have wireless broadband. ^^

    Yeah you can

Yeh but a problem i had with my router when i first tried wifi was that the software wasnt up to date, so if it doesnt work update the router software and it will, and why would you want to trade with the japanese version of the game when there will be plenty of American and Aus and UK people playing?

if you have wireless, you're set.

if you don't, you may need to either go to a hotspot (like a starbucks or school campus or something) or buy the USB for your PC to pick up wireless.
