I know you can use it to make certain Pokemon available and little treats and secrets and such.

But how in the world can I actually get these events to legally work now? What, did Nintendo think it would be fair on those who were just plain ignorant or just the fact that when the most events occured, I had no Pokemon games besides Firered and Ruby? Anyhow, I'm just a lil mad for not being able to get Mew for example. Mew is awesome, though Im unsure if he even appears in an event or not...

Is there any way to get event-based items legally even with the events closed down?

Honestly, the best option is to trade for them. Gen IV mystery gift is pretty much useless now (unless you want to get the PBR events). There are ways to "inject" a wonder card into your game. I'm fairly sure that whatever you get from that would be considered legal (I do not know the details, however), but some people would still not consider it "legit."

Less 'fair' and more 'it's a useful way to promote sales when the game is new and hence when the price tends to be higher'. Marketing, really, and since the current focus is 5th genration games it's no surprise that current events are for those games. Those are just the breaks, really.

Anyways as said there is no other way to get those events besides trading for them.

If you have any other questions ask them in the Help thread at the top of the section, please. Closed.
