[Question] Question regarding pbsetselfswitch

I've been doing some research on pbsetselfswitch for the script (Route 3 base Essentials, tutorials) and I get the general concept of setting the switch, but I'm a bit lost, especially when it applies to multiple events. I can post screenshots if necessary. Long story short, I'm recreating the original first 2 gen games into one big story with some extra bonus content. I have a post in the development section that's awaiting mod approval. I am at the part where you have to get Oak's Parcel from the Viridian PokeMart and I'm not sure how to exactly run this, especially with the old man blocking the path to Viridian Forest. Do I set each of the events' second page to the same (for example Switch A) and leave the graphic blank? Especially if I want them to permanently disappear after the event (with the exception of the clerk, of course). This is especially true due to the fact that I've been having the issue of NPCs/items not disappearing during/after the event or reappearing when going back to that map. For example, Blue is still standing next to Oak, Pokedexes are back and 2 Pokeballs on the table. Any tips or other help on the pbsetselfswitch is appreciated.

EDIT: Trying to figure this out based on what I know from the base Essentials Route 3. I set up the pbseteselfswitch to the Events that I wanted to erase after (ie Pokedexes), but ran into this code issue. When I have the switches (in red lettering) and the same switch on the next page, it works, but only until you refresh the map. Then they're back. Here's what I have:

EDIT 2: I was missing the map ID, but now I get this error. (Last attachment)
