I'm just curious about this and I have never tried it. If you are really REALLY bored one day and you go through your Gold (or silver/crystal) to the point where you catch Ho-oh. (Your game is corrupted BTW.) If you go immediately to a poke center and trade to a different version, 1.) Will it work? and 2.) What will happen to the other versions Pokemon? Will they just be wiped away by the corrupted file?

NOTE: On catching Ho-oh, I'm pretty sure you get the master ball before you're able to catch him, but you can always go back later :).

Just keep your SP plugged into the wall when you play. I'm pretty sure you can still save and it will still hold the file as long as it's plugged in.
But to answer your question; yes it will work. As long as the game you trade Ho-oh to can still save.

I'm talking about the game being corrupted, meaning that if you shut off the game, it doesn't save. The SP or GBA is OK.

Hm, I never had a corrupted version of Crystal or Gold. But to answer that, it would mess up your game save file. It depends on what version of pokemon you want Ho-oh on. Do you want him to be transferred over to your Silver version of Pokemon?

This is just hypothetical. I'm only trying to get Ho-oh on my Colosseum.

I dont ENTIRELY get your question, but anyway.

I dont think itll corrupt your save file, no matter which game you trade it to. The only things, is youll know its a 'corrupted' Pokémon, and if your gonna do the game in a day just to get Ho-oh, id say borrow or buy a cheat device, itll work the same but quicker.

If you mean 'corrupted' by it wont save, its probably not corrupted, its just the internal battery has run dry. Replace them yourself or go to a DIY store, and ask them to unsolder and resolder a new CR2025, or CR2032 battery in its place.

Listen to Feeder. Get yourself a new battery and your game will be perfectly fine. Alternatively to DIY stores, you can use precision flathead screwdrivers and electrical tape. My brother and I just replaced our batteries in our Gold and silver last weekend and they both work like new.

Then you can proceed as normal and go put your Ho-oh into the Colisseum.

ill agree with you ive never had a problem but my cousin did and it took about 3 minutes to replay the battery and use electrical tape to sort it out however it could always in the unlikely event be the chip but i doubt it

btw u spelt colosseum wrong XD

LPO, thats damn quick! I spend a good 20 minutes just tryin to cut out the battery! Which didnt work, so i ended up soldering them anyway, which took about 10 minutes. If anyone wants to resolder or attach new batteries, it wont take long, you could do all 3 games in less than 1 hour. Easy.

Look, people, BREAKINGBEN's question is hypothetical. Read and understand it fully before posting about... of all things, game batteries. o.O

As for the question itself, I assume it'd work...
