I understand ev's, i only read about it once so i may not have the terminology right but what is exactly considered ev trained? Like is it using all the ev points up on any random stat, or being trained in any specific stat, or being ev trained in a stat the pokemon is bad in, or is it using all the ev points a pokemon can possibly get 32 on each stat.

    STOP
Before a mod says "theres a million of these threads out there use the search button" and closes this thread, you, the mod, go through every thread and look for this specific question!!!
Before you say "theres a sticky on ev trtaining"THAT CLEARLY SAYS GOOD EV TRAINING AREAS SO IF THIS STUFF IS IN HERE THEN THATS FALSE ADVERTISING AND YOU CANT BLAME ME FOR ASSUMING ITS SOMETHING ELSE!!!!

I dont mean to be disrespectful but it seems no matter what i do a mod, super mod, or administrator gets mad at me for it so im jut trying to justify this thread.

Besides, isnt this the whole point of a forum? to get the information you need?

P.S. Yes i know i spelled question wrong i dont think well at 12:30

Well i guess there are threads that do have this info, and ill save you the trouble anyway, to have an EV trained Pokemon, helps the pokemon give the edge off of another pokemon or even the same pokemon. Like for example, you have your geodude fully ev trained in Attack and speed, and if you were to face another geodude, you are more likely to hit it faster, and a lot stronger. The maximum amount of EVs a pokemon can have in each stat is 255. But they only contain 510 EV all together, so its up to you, how you want to spread them.

my whole team has the effort ribbon wich is when all your evs are used up, does that count as ev trained even if its just kinda random?

more than likely it would be random, unless you know for a fact it is properly EV trained

"EV trained" usually means all EVs allocated in a purposeful manner. i.e. you've maxed the Poke's effort in the stats you want maxed.

well that makes everything as hell of a lot easier
    thank you

I always thought you could have 512 EVs spread max :|, that's what I get for trusting in shifty sources I suppose
