hello i am just curious about anyones experience with racism here
now i am not actually sure if this was racism or just general banter discrimination bc i was young but when i was like 15/16 i went to this coffee shop in the city and like it wasn't super fancy but it wasn't like dirt poor living in cardboard boxes on the mexican border either so, but it was higher than ur average coffee shop
ANYWAY so my 2 friends i was with who were WHITE and the same age as me ordered their coffee with no problems but then when I went to order the waitress asked "are you sure you can afford that" and tbh at the time i didn't really know what to do because i was just like 'lol umm yeah let me check haha yeah i've got enough xD' like even tho i KNEW that i had enough $$$ but just because of what she said made me doubt myself and trust me if this was said to present day me i'd have thrown my scalding mocha in her face
also just recently i told someone i am hispanic and they said 'you speak good english for a mexican' and this 14 yr old **** at work calls me a dirty mexican all the time and i wanna knock his teeth out
