    A small thing I've been testing for a while, NMF (Nintendo MF)...

    Pokemon (22):
    4 Mudkip
    3 Marshtomp
    4 Swampert
    3 Wailmer (RS)
    2 Wailord
    2 Wailord ex
    2 Zigzagoon (EX2)
    2 Linoone (RS)

    Trainers (19):
    3 Copycat
    2 Juggler (Aqua)
    4 Switch
    3 Pokemon Fan Club
    2 Fisherman
    4 Rare Candy
    1 Undersea Ruins

    Energy (19):
    4 Retro
    15 Water

    Strategy: Get out at least 2 Swampert by turn 2 or 3 by different combinations of Rare Candy and Marshtomp, with a Wailmer down somewhere, a Linoone in wait, and a Wailord ex in my hand. Evolve, and trash the opponent. When Wailord gets 100+ damage, then use first attack for Linoone or something, next turn, Retro Energy and Rare Candy into Wailord, who is now attacking for 70, and NO EX RULE!!!!! If I see Green, I don't even drop Wailmer, and just go for straight KO using Swampert and Switch, and hoping that the sleep flips will go my way.

    Problems: I find that this deck tends to run a little slowly, not getting out a Swampert until about turn 4 or 5. Also, there is the reliability issue, with so many combo cards in this deck, it's virtually impossible to draw them all with random draws. I tried to solve this with Linoone, but he's not always a good alternative to some good searching trainers. Help!!!
     
    Hmm.. I haven't actually *played* with the EX rules, but I shall choose the raindance starter deck as t he next one I buy and test it out for you.. ^_^

    switch your retros with warp energy and switch your switches
    with 2 oak and 2 computer search

    take off your copycats and put professor elms

    The Retro NRG are the key to this entire deck. Read over the strategy before actually making a post. Also, Recycle energy is illigal in the new format (unless Nintendo re-released it in their sets...) I just plain like Copycat better than POR. In the new version of this deck, there are a couple of POR, but I think that Copycat is plain better.

    Again, the Retros are the key to this entire deck working out. Oak and CPU Search are illigal in this format.
     
    Ok..a modified deck...

    Once I got my Wailord Ex at the league I instantly though of making a deck similar to this one, except it was unlimited with Blastoise as main and using the Pokemon Center-Energy Flow Idea..

    Well anyway, if I was you I'd drop 1 or both of the regular Wailord, drop 1 switch, for perhaps 2-3 Prof. Elms Method or Prof Oaks Research or more Juggler and Copycat...

    does it really matter?

    I have a bit of a dilemma. I just got back from the Dragons prerelease tournament, and I just found out about the Gyarados from that set. Here are some stats for Gyarados:

    Gyarados
    100 HP
    Weakness: [L]
    Resistance: (none)
    Retreat: [CC]
    Attacks:
    [W] Dragon Crush
    Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 10 damage to each Defending Pokemon. Discard an Energy Card from each Defending Pokemon.

    [WCCCC] Aqua Sonic 80
    This attack's damage is not affected by Resistance.

    I'm wondering if I should switch out the Wailord ex line for a Gyarados line because of this. Thx for answering.
     
    That might not be bad Idea, you would just have to be faster than usual cause you can't leave a magikarp out. And you might even want a boost energy with that one...
