    Introduction
I slowly stroll into smogon's server, expecting nothing special, but I soon find out that it isn't going to stay that way. I am still bruised up from sucking it up hardcore in the Platinum metagame lately, and I don't have much hopes in winning any tough battles. I scroll through my folder of ou teams and I load up a fresh OU team I built the very same day. I select the find match button and I wait for my opponent to spring up and battle. The opponent is found and the battle starts...

    6-6 [TIE]
    "image removed" vs. "image removed"
    eastern.rider sent out Gengar
    LimboChomp sent out Forretress
    Gengar used Focus Blast.
Forretress lost 79% of its health.
Gengar lost 10% of its health.
    Forretress used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
Forretress's leftovers restored its health a little!
Forretress restored 6% of its health.
    ---
Well, Forretress took alot of damage, but good thing he got Stealth Rock up, that will be a sure help. I'll see what I can do to deal with this Gengar.

    6-6 [TIE]
    *pokemonelite2000 image removed*vs. "image removed"

    LimboChomp switched in Lucario
    Gengar used Thunderbolt.
Lucario lost 69% of its health.
Gengar lost 10% of its health.
    ---
Wow, 69% from a neutral attack, this Gengar is going to be a little tough to take down, unless...

    6-6 [TIE]
*pokemonelite2000 image removed* vs. "image removed"

    Gengar used Protect.
    Lucario used Crunch.
    Gengar protected itself!
    ---
Great, Gengar has Protect, this is going to be one annoying ride, I can already tell. I'll stick with Crunch and see how it plays out.

    6-6 [TIE]
*pokemonelite2000 image removed* vs. "image removed"

    eastern.rider switched in Blissey
    Pointed stones dug into Blissey.
Blissey lost 12% of its health.
    Lucario used Crunch.
Blissey lost 36% of its health.
Lucario lost 10% of its health.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.
    ---
Whew, he takes out Gengar but replaces it with an even more annoying pokemon, Blissey. Atleast I have Lucario here to easily deal with it. Obviously I'm carrying Close Combat, and I'm sure he realizes that too.

    6-6 [TIE]
    *pokemonelite2000 image removed*vs. "image removed"

    Blissey used Protect.
    Blissey protected itself!
    Lucario used Close Combat.
    Blissey protected itself!
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.
    ---
I sense a protecting spree coming. Let's hope I can finish off this Blissey before it stalls me to death. Close Combating won't stop until he either swtiches out or stop protecting.

    6-6 [TIE]
*pokemonelite2000 image removed* vs. "image removed"

    eastern.rider switched in Gyarados
    Gyarados's intimidate cut Lucario's attack!
    Pointed stones dug into Gyarados.
Gyarados lost 25% of its health.
    Lucario used Close Combat.
    It's not very effective...
Gyarados lost 28% of its health.
    Lucario's defence was lowered.
    Lucario's special defence was lowered.
Lucario lost 10% of its health.
Gyarados's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gyarados restored 6% of its health.
    ---
Gyarados? Anyway, I have a solution to this OU beast. Lucario won't do much here, so I am going to have to choose another pokemon to replace him.

    6-6 [TIE]
    "image removed" vs. "image removed"

    LimboChomp switched in Metagross
    Gyarados used Waterfall.
Metagross lost 33% of its health.
Gyarados's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gyarados restored 6% of its health.
Metagross's leftovers restored its health a little!
Metagross restored 6% of its health.
    ---
Another OU beast, Metagross, is here to crash the yet to come party started up by Gyarados. I'll try to get as much damage done on this Gyarados as possible using good ol' Metagross.

    6-6 [TIE]
    "image removed" vs. "image removed"

    Gyarados used Dragon Dance.
    Gyarados's attack was raised.
    Gyarados's speed was raised.
    Metagross used Ice Punch.
Gyarados lost 27% of its health.
Gyarados's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gyarados restored 6% of its health.
Metagross's leftovers restored its health a little!
Metagross restored 6% of its health.
    ---
Oh schhhnaaap! It's DD Gyara, I'm going to stick with this plan I have going, Ice Punch is doing fine.

    6-6 [TIE]
    "image removed" vs. "image removed"

    Gyarados used Dragon Dance.
    Gyarados's attack was raised.
    Gyarados's speed was raised.
    Metagross used Ice Punch.
Gyarados lost 29% of its health.
Gyarados's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gyarados restored 6% of its health.
Metagross's leftovers restored its health a little!
Metagross restored 6% of its health.
    ---
This isn't looking good, Gyarados has pulled off two Dragon Dances already, and Ice Punch hasn't killed it off quick enough. I know an attack is coming next and I'm bracing myself.

    6-6 [TIE]
    "image removed" vs. "image removed"

    Gyarados used Stone Edge.
    Gyarados's attack missed!
    Metagross used Ice Punch.
Gyarados lost 16% of its health.
    eastern.rider's Gyarados fainted.
Metagross's leftovers restored its health a little!
Metagross restored 6% of its health.
    ---
Whew, hehe, the attack never came. Metagross is now taking this golden opportunity and finishes off Gyarados before it could ever start a DD sweep.

    6-5 [LimboChomp]
    "image removed" vs. "image removed"

    eastern.rider switched in Metagross
    Pointed stones dug into Metagross.
Metagross lost 6% of its health.
    Metagross used Trick.
    Metagross obtained Leftovers!
    Metagross obtained Choice Band!
    Metagross used Earthquake.
    It's super effective!
Metagross lost 93% of its health.
Metagross's leftovers restored its health a little!
Metagross restored 6% of its health.
    ---
A fellow Metagross! A tricking one at that! Oh crap, now my Metagross is CB'd and this isn't good at all, I'll be alot less versatile now with my Metagross, this could affect the battle in a very negative way.

    6-5 [LimboChomp]
    "image removed" vs. "image removed"

    eastern.rider switched in Gengar
    Pointed stones dug into Gengar.
Gengar lost 12% of its health.
Gengar makes ground moves miss with Levitate!
    Metagross used Earthquake.
    Metagross's attack missed!
    ---
Great, Gengar is in and I'm CB'd, I just have to switch, due to the fact I'm locked in on Earthquake.

    6-5 [LimboChomp]
*pokemonelite2000 image removed* vs. "image removed"

    LimboChomp switched in Lucario
    Gengar used Thunderbolt.
Lucario lost 11% of its health.
    LimboChomp's Lucario fainted.
Gengar lost 10% of its health.
    ---
Well, that wasn't any better. Lucario didn't have the potential to finish off anything anyway, it was hanging on a thin wire.

    5-5 [TIE]
    "image removed" vs. "image removed"

    LimboChomp switched in Forretress
    Gengar used Thunderbolt.
Forretress lost 28% of its health.
    LimboChomp's Forretress fainted.
Gengar lost 10% of its health.
    ---
Wow, I can't even pull off a move on his Gengar. It's just finishing off all my half-dead pokemon. I better clean up my act before this turns into a blowout.

    4-5 [eastern.rider]
*pokemonelite2000 image removed* vs. "image removed"

    LimboChomp switched in Swampert
    Gengar used Focus Blast.
Swampert lost 53% of its health.
Gengar lost 10% of its health.
    Swampert used Aqua Tail.
Gengar lost 38% of its health.
    eastern.rider's Gengar fainted.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.
    ---
Whew, good thing his Gengar is Life Orb'd, it helped alot by draining its HP and Swampert's Aqua Tail finished it off, now that problem is solved and I have a chance to get things together again.

    4-4 [TIE]
*pokemonelite2000 image removed* vs. "image removed"

    eastern.rider switched in Togekiss
    Pointed stones dug into Togekiss.
Togekiss lost 25% of its health.
    Togekiss used Air Slash.
Swampert lost 27% of its health.
    Swampert used Brick Break.
Togekiss lost 24% of its health.
Togekiss's leftovers restored its health a little!
Togekiss restored 6% of its health.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.
    ---
I'm pretty confident in my Swampert right now, I'm sure he can take this Togekiss down with Brick Break.

    4-4 [TIE]
*pokemonelite2000 image removed* vs. "image removed"

    Togekiss used Roost.
Togekiss restored 43% of its health.
    Swampert used Brick Break.
    It's super effective!
Togekiss lost 51% of its health.
Togekiss's leftovers restored its health a little!
Togekiss restored 6% of its health.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.
    ---
Roost >_< This is going to be a battle of its own. Swampert doesn't have that much HP to continue this struggle. Brick Break can't override Roost obviously, its not doing enough damage.

    4-4 [TIE]
*pokemonelite2000 image removed* vs. "image removed"

    Togekiss used Air Slash.
Swampert lost 30% of its health.
    Swampert used Brick Break.
Togekiss lost 24% of its health.
Togekiss's leftovers restored its health a little!
Togekiss restored 6% of its health.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.
    ---
Nothing different here, the war that is waged between Swampy and Togekiss is still continuing, and its starting to get aggrevating.

    4-4 [TIE]
*pokemonelite2000 image removed* vs. "image removed"

    Togekiss used Air Slash.
Swampert lost 14% of its health.
    LimboChomp's Swampert fainted.
Togekiss's leftovers restored its health a little!
Togekiss restored 6% of its health.
    ---
Oh, no, Swampy is down and out. Togekiss remains an annoyance I must get rid of.

    3-4 [eastern.rider]
    "image removed" vs. "image removed"

    LimboChomp switched in Metagross
    Togekiss used Roost.
Togekiss restored 50% of its health.
    Metagross used Hammer Arm.
    It's super effective!
Togekiss lost 93% of its health.
    eastern.rider's Togekiss fainted.
    Metagross's speed was lowered.
    ---
Hehe, go Metagross, go! He just came in and BAM! He dealt with that Togekiss brutally and quickly also, so I guess that Choice Band really did have a positive affect somewhat. Metagross is still alive and ready to continue domination.

    3-3 [TIE]
*pokemonelite2000 image removed* vs.*pokemonelite2000 image removed*

    eastern.rider switched in Infernape
    Pointed stones dug into Infernape.
Infernape lost 12% of its health.
    LimboChomp switched in Heatran
    Infernape used Close Combat.
    It's super effective!
Heatran lost 100% of its health.
    LimboChomp's Heatran fainted.
    Infernape's defence was lowered.
    Infernape's special defence was lowered.
    ---
I switch out Metagross because he is my prized pokemon so far, he really can't be lost. Heatran comes in and takes the hit, sadly, that's his only appearance in this battle.

    2-3 [eastern.rider]
"image removed" vs. *pokemonelite2000 image removed*

    LimboChomp switched in Tyranitar
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
    A sandstorm brewed!
    Infernape used Close Combat.
    It's super effective!
Tyranitar lost 100% of its health.
    LimboChomp's Tyranitar fainted.
    Infernape's defence was lowered.
    Infernape's special defence was lowered.
    The sandstorm rages.
Infernape is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Infernape lost 6% of its health.
    ---
Wow, this is disgusting. Two 1HKOs in a row, I really am weak to this Infernape, and all I am hanging on by is my main man Metagross. I hope he can win me a comeback.

    1-3 [eastern.rider]
"image removed" vs. *pokemonelite2000 image removed*

    LimboChomp switched in Metagross
    Infernape used Close Combat.
Metagross lost 39% of its health.
    Infernape's defence was lowered.
    Infernape's special defence was lowered.
    Metagross used Earthquake.
    It's super effective!
Infernape lost 82% of its health.
    eastern.rider's Infernape fainted.
    The sandstorm rages.
    ---
Wow, Metagross survives the Close Combat and fires back with a KO by Earthquake. I might have a chance with my one and only poke.

    1-2 [eastern.rider]
    "image removed" vs. "image removed"

    eastern.rider switched in Metagross
    Pointed stones dug into Metagross.
Metagross lost 6% of its health.
    Metagross used Earthquake.
    It's super effective!
Metagross lost 1% of its health.
    eastern.rider's Metagross fainted.
    The sandstorm rages.
    ---
Good thing I outspeed his Metagross and finished it off. Now my opponent is down to his last pokemon too, and its Blissey, let's see how this turns out.

    1-1 [TIE]
    "image removed" vs. "image removed"

    eastern.rider switched in Blissey
    Pointed stones dug into Blissey.
Blissey lost 12% of its health.
    Blissey used Protect.
    Blissey protected itself!
    Metagross used Earthquake.
    Blissey protected itself!

Blissey is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Blissey lost 6% of its health.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.
    ---
Bleh, protect is aggrevating. And not only that but remember my Metagross was tricked into holding Choice Band. So Earthquake is my only option.

    1-1 [TIE]
    "image removed" vs."image removed"

    Metagross used Earthquake.
Blissey lost 52% of its health.
    eastern.rider's Blissey fainted.

Whew, Blissey is down and I win. I owe it all to Metagross. Great battle.

    PROPS
-Metagross for staying strong throughout the battle, wiping out problem pokemon, and winning the battle for me in the end.
-eastern.rider for being a great battler and giving me a one of a kind battle
-Forretress for doing his job well, staying alive for quite some time, those Stealth Rocks really helped out alot, of course.

    SLOPS
-Tyranitar, unfotunately he couldn't have any fun.
-Heatran, he is in the same boat as Tyranitar, he could've caused a rampage, but never did.

I liked this log a lot. It was really close at the end, and Metagross really surprised me with that end game sweep. I don't know why he didn't Waterfall you, and kept Stone Edging. Ice Punch Metagross also seems like a weird Gyarados check D:. Watch out for good Gyarados users. Overall, an excellent log =)

I asked myself the same question, Vance, lol, a twice DD'd, Stab'd Waterfall would've hit for sure and done lots more damage, but oh well, it was his mistake.

Thanks for the feedback Vance, I'm glad I didn't have to force you to give it *winks*. Be on the lookout for more logs by me, because I really enjoy making them. =)

Nice battle I only have one itsy bitsy iffy problemo.
The formatting doesn't really look that original. I think if you added some flavour to it, the log could've been even more impressive. You know, change the leftovers recovery wording, put it in once then erase it or come up with something special.

I totally understand and agree. Its just that its only my 2nd battle log ever and I wanted to stay on the safe side if you know what I mean. But I'm definitely going all out in my third battle log. Thanks for that. =)

No problems, I mean it is your 2nd and fair enough going safely, but next time I want something spectacular!
Not really, but just spend some more time on it and you will probably get more views and comments. :P

Great, I am going to do exactly the same as you have told me, you seem knowledgable anyways, thanks alot for the help and advice. Look out for my 3rd log in the future. =)

I disagree. Making the leftovers recovery sound "cooler" isn't going to add to the quality of the log and creativity in the formatting is unimportant. There's only so much you can do. The format's purpose is to make the log attractive and readable, not an art display. The format was fine in this log (besides maybe the score every turn which got really irritating), so I don't see how it's a problem at all.

The flavor should never be in the formatting. It should be in the actual log and the comments that explain each turn. Logs focused on making a flashy format are no better than those that focus on providing analysis and good commentary with the fight, if not worse.

EDIT: Not a bad battle, btw.

Thanks alot Anti, it means a whole lot when someone like you gives alright feedback, its appreciated. =)

I see a potentaill flawless victory. Id you hadn't switched in your Luke and Forry, and had Swampert clear out that Gengar right off the bat, you could have sent them in later against that Infernape, keeping your TTar and Heatran in good shape.
However, the other guy made the mistake of CB'ing your Metagross. C Scarf or Specs would of hurt more, let alone other crippling items like flame orb.

Anyway, nice battle, a picked up quite a bit from it, I look forward to seeing more logs in the future.

These things are all true, but I'm not a pro, more like a semi-noob. I'm glad you enjoyed the log, though. Thanks for the feedback, I'll surely make more logs in the future. ;)
