I just did one on my own on fire red. My Team was Charizard, Tangela, Dodrio, Cubone, and Pikachu. It was a lot of fun, and it made for a pretty decent challenge actually. Lorelei was probably my biggest challenge because she was super effective against my best 4 pokemon. Definately fun though

And I will get started on my challenge tonight. Should be interesting since I've literally never used any of those Pokemon. [:

FIRST UPDATE:

Spoiler:

-Started game, named myself Benji, named rival Barry, chose Turtwig as my starter.
-Did all the beginning stuff.
-Started my journey.
-Made my way to the first gym, at this point Turtwig was lvl 15.
-I didn't have access to any of my chosen Pokemon, so I went ahead and challenged the first gym with Turtwig and won. (Easy since the gym was rock.)
-Made my way to the next town.
-Collected my honey and put it on the first tree.
-Turned game off and waited 6 hours.
-After six hours, I continued to play and got lucky when the Pokemon in the tree was a Burmy.
-Had to reset, though, because the first time I didn't catch him and ran out of Pokeballs, the second time it was a female. On the third try, I had bought a net ball and I was prepared.
-Caught Burmy.
-Continued to do the Team Galatic thing.

Note; Since Burmy can't learn TM moves and doesn't learn any real moves for a while and I won't have access to Nosepass for a minute, I will be using Grotle in the meantime. However, as soon as Burmy catches up to the NPCs and learns at least one attack move, I will dump Grotle in a PC and just use Burmy.

First Update

Ok this is my first update.

I started out the game naming myself Syre and my rival (edit when I remember) Went to get my starter Charmander and nicknamed it ChosenOne (I know I'm GREAT at making nicknames) I got pretty lucky in my nature of the ChosenOne as it was Modest. Went on to battle my rival. (which was a cakewalk)
Apparently Oak is a bad as Elm as he has you go get a parcel for him from the PokeMart. At least it doesn't take that long to go and get it. once that was done Oak gave both me and my rival our Pokedex and 5 pokeballs. Once again i was on my merry way to the First Gym. I was able to catch my second Poke Rattata, or InYoFace. Trained that for a bit to catch up in levels.
Went through Viridian Forest jus tusing charmander hoping it leveled up enough to learn Metal Claw, which if I didn't have would probaly not beat Brock. Luckily he learned it right before the exit. The ONE trainer in his gym wasn't a problem as i was a few levels ahead. Now it was time to challenge Brock.​

Brock: Brock isn't hard at all with any of the three starters as long as you level up your charmander enough to learn metal claw. Which i did. Even his onix wasn't a challenge just took 4 metal claws.
After that got our running shoes and caught our third member of our party (Female)Nidoran or Diva. Trained her a bit to prepare for the next challenge Mt. Moon​

Alright... I started with Torchic, didn't do anything with it except beat Brandon, and catching a Seedot took FOREVER (1% chance), as is leveling it (only knows BIDE... Urgh...), catching a shroomish was also annoying, but completed...
This challenge is already, well, challenging just to get started at all!

Right now my Seedot is level 12, and I cannot wait to actually get some actual ATTACKS on this thing...
Shroomish is only level 7, just caught it.

I have to give up on this one. My gameboy finally bit the dust, and my family members/friends are using up all the emulator savestates. >.< Really sucks.

SECOND UPDATE

Spoiler:

-Finished Team Galatic thing. Commander Mars' Purugly gave me a bit of a problem, but I finally won after what seemed forever.
-Continued along my journey.
-Entered Eterna forest and teamed up with Cheryl.
-Exited Eterna forest and entered Eterna City.
-Took a break from training and battling and headed to Mt. Coronet to start the search for a Nosepass. Since I couldn't use strength, I didn't have much space to search... but after about 15 minutes, I found my Nosepass.
-Evolved Nosepass into Probopass.
-Evolved Burmy into Mothim.
-Took on the Eterna City gym leader and won after two tries.
-Went through the Team Galatic building. Had a big problem with Commander Jupiters Skuntank... but won after a little bit of training.
-Got my bike and headed to Hearthome.
-Collected my next badge. (after speaking to the gym leader in the contest hall, of course.) Once again, struggled a bit, but pulled a win on my second try.
-Left Hearthome and headed to the next town.

I'm going to be out of town until either Tuesday or Thursday, so I will not be able to update until then. I would like to continue this challenge, though.

Also, catching a Yanma is proving to be nearly impossible for me. I have ran into one several times in the Safari Zone, but have yet to catch one and I've been trying for two days now. Can I just trade for one? Or should I just keep trying to catch it?
