A few days ago i got to level 20, since then i've hardly been getting any super/hyper/regular potions when i visit a pokestop. Previously most pokestops would give at least 2 potions and getting pokeballs was rare but since the weekend its been the other way round. Is it just me or is it a level thing?
All the people i know that are under lvl20 are still getting loads of potions so thats why im wondering if something is set to change the items ratio you get at a certain level but its making it really hard to take gyms since i need to hit so many pokestops just to get enough items to take down a gym

Maybe, I just found it weird that last week I was getting so many potions that I kept having to empty my bag of them to pick up pokeballs

Im at level 22. Yesterday evening i hit 29 pokestops, i got
    51 Pokeballs (1.75/stop)
    12 Great Balls (1 per 2.5 stops)
    4 Ultra Balls (1 per 7 stops)
    5 Potions (1 per 6 stops)
    2 Super Potions (1 per 14.5 stops)
    12 Revives (1 per 2.5 stops)
    11 Razz Berries (1 per 2.5 stops)

what ratios are other people getting?

    It's completely random.

I'm level 26 and I throw every Potion I get out the bag, save 20x Hyper Potions and 20x Max Potions.

Obviously you're going to receive more Poké Balls and the like, since that's the whole point of this game.

Also, pro tip: You technically never need Potions if you know how to properly dodge during gym battles. With proper dodging you can take down Pokémon 3x your CP level 1v1 before the timer runs out. Difficulty still depends on what you're facing as some moves have faster cast speed than others (and Vaporeon is broken so just give up if you're facing one that way outlevels you). Also you might get carpal tunnel syndrome so spam at your own risk.

i *think* ive worked this out a bit better now, the more items you have in your bag seems to make it more likely to get those items. Ive dumped all my razz berries and didnt attack any gyms for 2 days to save potions and now ive got quite a few in the bag im actually getting more from pokestops. Now im back to always running out of pokeballs again lol
