2nd Gen Rate my Crystal E4 team

Heres my Crystal team and i thought it needed somework. Im not going to change the pokemon in the team but i ALOT of help in the movesets. Here the team;

Thundershock (needs a better move)

Strength (yes a i know, a HM but dont stress, Im going to delete it)

So if someone could please take the time to help out the movesets

Lance runs over you quite easily. :D Magneton and Poliwrath aren't fast enough to outspeed Dragonite, meaning it'll take you out quite easily. Train all of your Pokemon up to 50+ and I'd get rid of Donphan for either a Gengar or more preferably; a Sneasel.

King Tyranitar Lance runs over you quite easily. Magneton and Poliwrath aren't fast enough to outspeed Dragonite, meaning it'll take you out quite easily. Train all of your Pokemon up to 50+ and I'd get rid of Donphan for either a Gengar or more preferably; a Sneasel.

Yeah im training them all to lv55 which should be fine

I dont have the trading, so Gengar is out of the question...but Sneasel, maybe

I never really like my Donphan, he is a bit of a letdown but once i get a good moveset for him he should be right

Or you could just ditch them both for Kadabra with Psychic and Shadow Ball. Owns Karen quite hard might I add, that's forgetting about super effective hits. Sheer speed and Sp Att. takes her out nicely.

If you can train Poliwhirl to around 60 (make him stronger than everyone else if need be) You will take out Lance's dragons (excluding Gyarados unless you start off with Magneton) Ice Punch 2HKOs Dragonite (possibly OHKO if critical hit) OHKO's Aerodactyl, and Surf OHKO's both Aerodactyl and Charizard. But you have to train him up or Aerodactyl uses something nasty and takes you out due to it's superior speed and superior attack.

 

[Phish]

Throw out the Donphan. I suggest a Jynx with the following moveset:

Ice Punch
Blizzard
Lovely Kiss
Body Slam(maybe...can't think of a last move)

She should be easily able to outspeed Lances Dragonite

I think you will do fine and your poliwrath should know ice beam maybe because its stronger and you can defeat some of Lance's pokemon better that way instead of ice punch maybe... lol ;) otherwise its 8/10!

You really dont want to start training an arbok mate trust me on this. Its stats are totaly mediocre, its movepool sucks and it can be eaisly countered by so many things.

Throw out the Donphan. I suggest a Jynx with the following moveset:

Ice Punch
Blizzard
Lovely Kiss
Body Slam(maybe...can't think of a last move)

She should be easily able to outspeed Lances Dragonite

In the second generation of pokemon games jynx is probably one of the most reliable non-legandry pokemon you can get!

I agree with Phish on his moveset for Jynx add in a Jynx for the Donophan, except for the last move Body Slam, you could teach it a great move such as Agility that would top his speed off very nicely.

level up arcanin until it learns extreme speed, and teach it fire blast in place of roar or flame wheel. teach magneton thunder blot and zap cannon in place of the first two moves. if you want teach poliwrath a fighting move instead of hypnosis. if possible train pidgeot steel wing in place of whirlwind. meganium, sunny day& solar beam in place of poison powder and synthesis. instead of defense curl level up donphan till it learns earthquake and keep strength.
