~not all ice moves come from ice pokemon, it is possible for a non ice type pokemon to have ice beam which makes our "self cover" useless.

more elaboration for why powering Flamethrower for Ice killing is a bad idea:

most ice type pokemon are half water, making it neutural, compared to the still SE Rock Slide and Brick Break.

Delibird and Articuno are X4 weak to Rock. not to mention Articuno's high Sp.def.

Glaile will take more damage from Rock Slide/Brick Break than Flamethrower due to higher attack.

and Regice takes minimal damage from flamethrower.

it's for physical walls, as Husk and I have said.

If you want more attack power, go with Lonely/Naughty. Not Adamant. Lower your Defenses, not your attack power.

you need a bunch of EVs in special attack and you need to use the risky fire blast in order to OHKO skarmory. Which over all decreases your attack power since your Evs are being spent on two stats

Salamence can't get Rock Head, so no Double Edge. Use the set I posted or Husk's set.:\
