Numbers are not the same thing as organization, and finally, Pokemon is NOT mostly common since Dark is Strong against Psychic. Where the hell is that written in a science book?

Well actually in my book: The Science of Pokemon I clearly outline how Dark is strong against Psychic, along with how Pikachu is an electric type, and how my name has 4 letters AND 4 numbers. Tricky stuff.

Oh, I am about to make it hot.

You don't need to take up your life to know what works and what doesn't, as 80% of Pokemon is common sense and 15% Experimentation. The other 5% is just random discoveries along the way (i.e. Sleep Talk Zapdos).

The fact of the matter is we have seen what works and what doesn't. I used to use Counter Aggron, you know, back when I was at your level of play. Either one of a few things happened:

1) Bulky Water or Gligar switches in, and the surprise of Counter is wasted.
2) Earthquake OHKOs.
3) Brick Break/Cross Chop OHKOs.
4) Swords Dance/Bulk Up is used.

You forgot where you say **** you to Kangaskhan.>:]

Counter Aggron is good, but you need to time it right, and it helps in a pinch.

SubPunch Aggron is old, and plainly, outdated. Cooler sets are being brung up like Endeavor.

For Ingame, I'd suggest:

~ Thunder Wave
~ Iron Tail
~ Rock Slide
~ Earthquake

Double STAB, Thunder Wave ad EQ for obvious reasons. You don't have to waste Sub and FP.

Can you actually learn what you are doing, then we can take you seriously.

If youre talking to me, you need to back off because a blade of grass knows more about this than you. So I'll take you seriously when you learn the basics.

Amazingly a blade of grass isn't as easily burned as you are?

9) Anything utilizing Earthquake or Brick Break in the UU metagame is either STABed or Swords Dance, which is a OHKO on Aggron, making Counter a waste of health to try and take on one pokemon.

The argument ends when one realizes that out of game, Aggron is relatively useless. Too many weaknesses, and too small a Special Defense. Even with massive Defense, some Attack moves KO Aggron, as you said. He's neat to use in-game, though, with the uber AI they so intelligently program on to the games. (Note sarcasm here).

So let's not debate over which Aggron is better when the fact is, in all reality, Aggron sucks in general. He looks like a beast, but can be easily taken down. And the fact that Aggron's only real good movesets (out of game) are practically predetermined, it's quite easy to predict and thus take advantage of, since it's not based on brute force the few first turns. I only use one on my in-game team because he's Steel... and he looks like a beast. That's a plus in my book.

But guys, let's not start a flame war here.

So I heard there were some things going on in this topic.

Oh, and to anybody who says that Aggron is useless outside of in-game; that's why the UU metagame is full of GENERAL type coverage. Aggron overall has an absolutely amazing typing in terms of type coverage (hi 4x resist to Normal and Flying, 2x resist to Rock, Bug, Ice, Psychic, I'm probably missing some, and neutral to Fire, Grass) and has a very good movepool to boot; like Tazz mentioned, Endeavor Aggron, watch it's drive. Pair up Aggron with our friend Vileplume, and you have a very reputable coverage combo, then throw in something to take care of pure fire types like Walrein, you got yourself a powerful setup going.

Not to shut you down, since I see you have AB's praise, but Aggron IS useful in the UU metagame. It hits hard as a CBer or ****s things up as a subpuncher.

And the below average retaliation directed towards me is getting me a bit too hot not to spread a few flames.

Hey, I'm not complaining! I think it's funny as hell watching you rip others a new one.

I don't know what UU is but I'm on your side here! I agree with you that it can hard, I know that for a fact. I've dominated many a Poke with Aggron. I'm just saying there are plenty of better choices. And if a CBer comes across a bulky water during Eathwuake, or the likes, since many times they are pretty much Defense tanks, Aggron will hide with it's tail between it's legs. Of course, that's what switching out is for. But anywho, I really like Aggron, he has a pretty damn decent move pool, but he wouldn't be my first choice for any top-notch battle, as I'm assuming the UU is.

I always thought about a Jolly Aggron, giving a little surprise in Speed.
But I've yet to try it in practice.

UU stands for UnderUsed, a Pokemon metagame/tier where only certain pokemon (such as Aggron and Hypno, which aren't "Used" as much as things like Skarmory and Blissey) are allowed to be used. Think of it as the Minor League of Major League Baseball.

Okay.... I'm gonna try to get back somewhere on topic here....

Most battlers believe that their STAB'd EQ, BB, or SU OHKOs Aggron, what with him having a 4x weakness to them and all. After Aggron survives, Counter destroys the attacker. As for Subpunching, probably works better without the Sub, as using Sub allows for the enemy to switch in a Water. Better to just directly use Focus Punch, wait for the switch, and Bang! -- dead water. But hey, this is just my opinion. I'm an insect, so my opinions don't count for anything unless someone else picks them up and puts them on display.

As it was pointed out before, Counter fails on Aggron since your opponent will take advantage of its pathetically weak base SDef instead of attempting to KO it with a physical move, knowing it has extremely high base Def and the possibility of Counter. Only a noob is going to fall for that. That is what makes the SubPunch version so effective. You can Sub on the switch and now Aggron, with its high Atk is going to do serious damage to a lot of different types. As it was also pointed out, you can Thunder Wave first, and then keep using Sub until you get a hax and your opponent cannot attack and the Sub sticks. Then you sweep.

The SubPunch, CB, and even Endeavor sets are much preferred over the Counter set that typically fails.

In my opinion, CB Aggron should be used more than faggot subpuncher version. It is greatly starting to bore me.

agreed.

o.o i'm agreeing with synch i never agree with synch

Okay, so here's the deal.
Most of the spam posts have been deleted.

Piloswine Magnet: Looks like getting unbanned wasn't such a good idea, huh? You got banned because of repeated flaming and now that you're back, you still haven't learned your lesson!
If you post a moveset and someone more experienced says its not good, you don't go and flame them. You listen and learn from your mistake, otherwise you'll never improve. Now I don't want to see you flaming other members again or else you'll rack up the warnings and get banned again.

Synch: Yeah, you obviously know what you're talking about, but just don't stretch out the flame war next time. It doesn't help. Also, linking to that image was a no-no. =[

Tazzler: Oh wow, you're here. HI! ^_^

Everyone else: Just don't feed the troll. PM is probably some attention-starved kid so just ignore him if he gets on your nerves.

God, e-drama sucks.
