I'm thinking of changing my current potential team. Especially since I'm trading away my Pupitar. :P

I'm still new at team building....

Anyways, I really like the idea of teams that are based around a single element. My favorites are grass/poison types, but I thought I could get more leverage with my second favorite type - fire.

    Infernape (Jolly)
    EVs: 252 Att / 252 Spe
    Grass Knot
    Flare Blitz
    Thunderpunch
    Close Combat

    Charizard (Naive)
    EVs: 128 Att. / 128 Sp.Att / 252 Spe
    Flamethrower
    Ancientpower
    Dig
    Aerial Ace

    Blaziken (Lonely)
    EVs: 128 Att. / 128 Sp.Att / 252 Spe
    Sunny Day
    Solarbeam
    Earthquake
    Brave Bird

    Houndoom
    EVs: 252 Sp.Att / 252 Spe
    Nasty Plot
    Embargo
    Dark Pulse
    Shadow Ball

    Arcanine (Jolly)
    EVs: 252 Att. / 252 Spe
    Crunch
    Flare Blitz
    Return
    Toxic

    Rapidash (Hasty)
    EVs: 128 Att. / 128 Sp.Att / 252 Spe
    Megahorn
    Flamethrower
    Agility
    Iron Tail

As you can tell, a major point here is to hit hard and fast... because these guys probably won't survive long when attacked.

    Thoughts?

the infernape is good, work on the others, some of their natures hinder vital stats. also if they are all fire types, teach them moves which can deal with all types. i wouldnt like to meet your team if i was a bug trainer lol.

I actually don't really like the infernape.

    Well how bout this...

    Infernape (Jolly)
    EVs: 252 Att / 252 Spe
    Grass Knot
    Blaze Kick
    Thunderpunch
    Close Combat

...Why do you use only one type of pkmn? I just need a Ludicolo, Kingdra and 1 Dragon to kill your team...
Also, change Bravebird for Blaze Kick on Blaziken.

Well, having the same type of pokemon is just for fun.

Like my friend has a Snake team.

    Milotic
    Arbok
    Seviper
    Huntail
    Dragonair
    Gyarados

some of their natures hinder vital stats.

    Any specifics?

I'm trying to hinder stats that they don't need.... like good defenses... because I'm thinking that they couldn't take more than a few hits either way.

I actually don't really like the infernape.

    Well how bout this...

    Infernape (Jolly)
    EVs: 252 Att / 252 Spe
    Grass Knot
    Blaze Kick
    Thunderpunch

Blaze Kick's 85 power and 90 accuracy over Flare Blitz's 120 power and 100 accuracy? Also, I don't think you can breed both Blaze Kick and Thunderpunch onto him. Correct me if I'm wrong.

...Why do you use only one type of pkmn? I just need a Ludicolo, Kingdra and 1 Dragon to kill your team...
Also, change Bravebird for Blaze Kick on Blaziken.

Well of course Ludicolo would kill me... you just got rid of Blaziken's Bravebird...?
I forgot about the Dragons though. Who could I give some dragon attacks too?

The single type team is mostly for fun. I'd like to use them competitevely, yes, but I'd also like to have fun with it and stick to a theme.

Flare Blitz lowers stats, which is bad.

And it's possible to get both of those egg moves on him

Flare blitz is good if thats what you wanna go for. The recoil on it though hurts quite a bit.
There are several things you can do with infernape. But i really dont suggest running a "type" team such as fire. Fire is rather weak. If your going to run a fire attack on infernape i highly suggest flame thrower. No recoil and works EXTREMELY well with life orb

    My infernape movelist is

    Infernape @ life orb
    Naive nature

    Grass knot
    Flame thrower
    Stone edge/rock slide/Thunder punch
    Close combat

But then of course, you'd have less EVs to work with.

If you have more physical moves then Special, and you go with the basic 252/252 spread, you'd want Atk and Spd.

Blaze Kick is much more efficient on a Physical Infernape.

Hmm... on Serebii.net Flare Blitz is only listed as taking recoil damage, it doesn't say anything about lowering stats...

How do you breed both Thunderpunch and Blaze Kick onto him? I don't see any way it's possible.

Nightofshadow: I'm worried about the EV spread if I give Infernape Flamethrower.

What about the other team members? Can't I get away with a type team if I cover all their weaknesses?

Well, I was mistaken by the lowering stats. It just takes recoil damage.

But, I think all you'd have to do is get a male Blaziken with Blaze Kick, breed it onto a Chimchar.

Once you get a female Chimchar from the egg, find someone you can get thunderpunch from.

    I don't know personally, sorry.

Egg moves only come from the male. The only guys that learn Blaze Kick are Hitmonlee and Blaziken - neither of which can learn Thunderpunch....

If you want a Fire team. Then I would suggest a Baton Pass Flareon for support.

Mono teams fail horribly, especially Fire ones. Any decent Ground or Water type would rip right through this team.

Apparently, his team is just for fun. Go for it, just don't expect ti win competitivly.
