I thought of a new strategy, but I'm not sure if it'll work....

I could teach a Smeargle Sheer Cold and Lock-On, and have a Togetic use Follow Me. That way while Smeargle is KO'ing everyone, Togetic is on the side using Protect, and every once in a while using some stat raising attack so it can survive any hits from the opponents, or any other sort of non-damaging move that's useful.

Would many people readily have a strategy against this?

    What do you all think?

You realize that every single tourney out there bans OHKO moves. Even outside of tournies, people look down on those who use OHKO moves with great disdain.

A better set up would be Belly Drum Smeargle:

    Smeargle @Salac Berry
    Nature: Jolly (+Spd, -SAtk)
    EVs: 244 HP/ 12 Def/ 252 Spd
    - Substitute
    - Belly Drum
    - Baton Pass
    - Spore

Set up, get your Attack and Speed boosts, then pass to something with Earthquake (Salamence or Groudon works nicely).

I wouldnt recommend doing that on your main nickname, for sure. As for countering it, your opponent could switch all day to avoid your lock on's. Thats what i would do if faced with it. Even then a 30% chance to win for no reason? Its incredibly lame.

If i was using smeargle at all, it would be with the above setup with Belly Drum, Although the few times i faced one i have managed to take it out before it could baton pass, as its stats are so low. It works better on paper than in-game, IMHO.

Also, take note that moves like Surf, Protect, and Earthquake are common in 2v2, putting that Smeargle strategy at a huge disadvantage.
